I don’t believe this is how Ariel found out. Allegedly Will had already known about Ned and Alex since December 2021… told Ned to back off (clearly he and Alex didn’t gaf), and then the same Reddit account that is allegedly is Will’s left a comment back in August calling Ned a cheater. So either he decided to keep this information to himself for a while which seems so wrong, he should’ve told her sooner, OR Ariel had known at least for a bit but obviously did not want to make this public. Either way, it’s just so sad. She didn’t deserve this 😢

@@edithputhy4948 Things are rarely as black and white as that. I wouldn't call it embarrassing. She's spent a large chunk of her life with him and they have children together. Sometimes it can seem easier to stay together for the kids. It could also be that they've been together so long that it's worth giving it one more chance... or maybe it's even something he's done more than once and this is just the first time it's gone public. Or maybe there are things that we don't know about (and that's not any of our business, either). There are so many scenarios and we know barely anything. It's easy to judge someone and say "this is what you should do," but judging doesn't help anyone. Only the people that are in it really know what's going on. The best thing we can do is support her and be as understanding as we can. And call out Ned for this and not let him forget it.

Technically he was fired for violating company rules and starting a relationship with one of his employees. Ned was in a position of power over Alex, and she could now say she was coerced and sue Ned AND the company if they fire her. Sure, the guys love Ariel and the kids, but that's not why they fired Ned. He just put the whole company at incredible risk.
I think Alex will quit on her own (I can't imagine ever wanting to go back to an office where everybody knows I slept with the boss), but legally the company can't fire her unless they want a lawsuit on their hands. She could say she was coerced into a relationship, and that the company fired her in retaliation.
IF Alex sues, this of course creates a dangerous precedent for the company. Other employees could do the same in the future if they ever get fired or feel they were treated unfairly. One look at the company and any judge will see sexual misconduct/coercion/abuse of power/retaliation in its history.
Ned didn't just fuck up his marriage. The whole company is risking everything right now. That's why he was fired.

I always find the "position of power" argument to be a red herring when this is nothing like a Harvey Weinstein style case. Alex doesn't look like a coerced party in any of the evidence and previous videos show her to be pining after him. The fact that they weren't hiding swapping spit proves this. The position of power argument in this case doesn't really apply. Basically, the way people are pseudo-defending Alex in this is kind of like excusing a soldier for a war crime by saying "just following orders". People have agency and they need to be held accountable as such.

    • @nenegrey2282
      @nenegrey2282 Год назад +5

@@louisbaker4362 I'm not talking morality, but legality. Legally, he was in a position of power over her. iirc in one of their podcasts he guys even mentioned that relationships with employees are illegal. Alex is under fire but it could have been Rachel or YB or any other woman working for Ned, the result would be the same: it's unacceptable. I believe Alex has left the company of her own volition at this point, but if the guys fired her, she could sue them or Ned.
How can you say position of power doesn't apply here? Have you listened to all of their conversations? Read all of their texts? Alex could be the biggest cheater in the universe, but we still have no way of knowing how this relationship started. For all we know, Ned could have pressured Alex in one way or another, or promised a raise. Did Ned let Alex create The Food Babies (2 years ago) as a way to convince her to start a relationship (allegedly over 1 year ago)? We have no way of knowing unless Alex actually sues him and all their interactions are made public during a trial. And that's why Ned had to be fired. He set a very dangerous precedent and put the whole company at risk.
Unless you're a judge deciding on the case after analysing all the evidence, saying "doesn't look like a coerced party" means absolutely nothing.
I'm sure that the guys are against cheating from a moral standpoint, especially because they love Ariel and the kids so much. But that's not why they fired Ned. They fired him because he broke company rules and put them all in jeopardy. That's all I was saying in my original comment. Had he cheated with someone outside of the workplace, I believe he would still be part of the Try Guys. Maybe they would have cut ties to save face if the story broke out, but legally, they would have had no reason to fire him.
I don't consider an illegal workplace relationship to be as bad as soldiers killing people, the comparison is far too exaggerated 😅 I suggest you watch the SNL skit they made about this, I think you'd like it since you don't see the gravity of the situation. They seem to have nothing against a boss having a relationship with an employee, basically waving off all concers about abuse of power.

I'm gonna say something that I wanted to for years now, but never did because I knew people would come after me in the comments with "you're just jealous you don't have that", "don't be bitter", and so on. I never bought into his whole "my wife" thing and always, always saw it as him overcompensating for something. Idk for what - for him being a cheater and trying to hide it (who's to say this is the first time?), for him not actually being that happy and not having such a perfect relationship he was trying to portray, or something else - but I always found it to be a bit too much and at times insincere. I know some people are very open with how much love they have for their partner and want to scream it to the world at all times, but when compared to other Try Guys' relationships I always saw it as more of a brand and throwing on a show than actual honest feelings and an indication of his personality. In my experience, when someone seems too good to be true, even in their behavior towards you, they almost always are. Ofc, none of this is to say that if you have a partner that does similar things that they aren't being truthful, but in a lot of cases that's what it is, and for whatever reason I always felt that that's what it was with Ned. I'm so sorry for what happened and I hope Ariel and the kids can move forward and find piece and happiness in spite of all this. Ned, you disappointed everyone. Do and be better!
Edit: One more thing, I also never liked how he mostly referred to Ariel as only "his wife". It does indicate closeness, love and can be really endearing if not overused, but since it most certainly was in his case, to me it read as possessive and reducing her whole being to only that one aspect. Did you notice how Keith almost always says "Becky"? It would make sense for Ned to only call her his wife if we never "met" her, but since the fanbase already knows who Ariel is that usually left a sour taste in my mouth.

The good part unfortunately is if you ever date again and fall in love you can cut through the bull crap and you can see the signs, you no longer see a man with rose colored glasses, and you will keep some of that love for you. That power imbalance is grounds for a lawsuit and investigation into their business. I said this on another video but here’s my take:
I know what makes this situation so heart breaking and shocking is that Ned always talks about his love for his wife and how he’s a huge lover and whatnot; but in retrospect.. it actually makes sense. It’s either (1) a manipulation tactic and/or (2) so, when you hurt someone and feel guilty for it, you start being nicer towards them and say nice things to them to clear your own conscious.. it kinda seems like that’s what Ned was doing. He probably felt so dirty and guilty about what he was doing that he always hyped up his wife to clear his conscious *_and_* make him seem like the good guy. Doesn’t it make sense?
I used to be a huge try guys fan so when the news first broke, I was disappointed (not shocked, but disappointed) but the more I thought about it, the more the pieces fit together. Maybe he’s not even doing it consciously, it could totally be a subconscious thing. Idk the guy personally so this is just my theory.
I also hope Ariel leaves him. Cheaters never learn & they have no respect (let alone love) for their partners. They view their partners as push overs. And let’s be real, if Ned wasn’t caught, he wouldn’t be sorry and the affair would’ve kept going without anyone knowing. He can apologize all he wants, he still did what he did and nothing can take that back. And yes ik they have kids so separating would be difficult but it’s probably the best decision in the long run. If he doesn’t even respect her, imagine what happens behind closed doors…

I remember a conversation between my parents when I was much younger. Basically my mom was complaining cause her friend’s husband was always talking and complimenting his wife (her friend), publicly read a poetry for her on his bday, basically does the same thing Ned does, so my mom was envious and wanted my father to start doing the same gestures. To my surprise my father’s response was “guys who does things like that, for the most part, cannot be trusted.” Fast forward a year later, the friend’s husband was caught leading a second life with a second family. And this is just one example I’ve encountered over the years. Ned cheating on his wife is the 4th case I’ve learned of.

I feel they approached it this way for one or all of the following reasons:
    1. They didn’t want to send a hate mob to Ned or the alleged girl due to their history. Maybe they also just wanted to verify this was true too.
    2. They didn’t want to bring attention to Ariel and the alleged girl’s fiancé, who are grieving this situation right now. They need time to heal.
    3. They didn’t want the drama because they’re so unproblematic and didn’t want it to negatively impact their business
I hope that all who have been affected and hurt are allowed time to heal. This situation is so so sad.

@KittyEars&Headbands its because he is her superior/supervisor and she was his employee. If the Try Guys just kept turning a blind eye, she could have easily taken them to court and state that Ned coerced her, bullied her at work, promised raise/promotion under the guise of sex, she could literally say he took advantage of her and she complied out of fear of losing her job. This whole situation could have screwed them all over bc of this.
