I have to say that I like the fact that you do not show the project in one video then it's done in the next. IT TAKES TIME AND PREPARATION! To some with ADD, it may be boring but to many of us, it is real life and you run into problems then overcome them. That is what life is about! Thank you.
Jack.... you are doing great, love your parents and cherish them. They are teaching you a life lesson that will be more valuable once your an old dude like your pops. You'll see and understand all of it later. ":)~

Video's like this get me sentimental. My grandparents lived on acerage in Colbert. The way you build things reminds me of my grandfather. The resourcefulness, attention to detail and the time he took, appreciation for what a lot people would deem simple. Pride in work? Possibly. Sorry if I"m getting a little sappy, just brings back very happy memories of working on the farm with him and my grandmother. I miss them dearly.

The gate cross member should go from the bottom hinge to the opposite top side so the wood is in compression as opposed to being in tension. It will prevent the gate from sag over the years.

Just wanted to say that you give me so much inspiration. I started woodworking after watching some of your videos when I was laid up with a broken shoulder from a fall through a floor in a fire at work. I just finished my first dining room table and everyone loves it. All I can see are the imperfections and mistakes but I'm more grateful now accepting my learning experience and finding pride in my work. I just watched your play list on the kindling box and it gave me inspiration to get back in the shop, something I lost a bit. Thank you for your honest, inspirational, raw content. Hope you never stop.

I have my share of hardware collections from old timers who have passed on, and like you I've been turning to those collections more and more. We get so used to going to the store and buying nice new hardware and materials and we completely ignore what we may already have, or why the guys before us saved it in the first place. Nice to see some of that getting used here!

My inner ocd was screaming "Paint the hardware!" Lol. Like to see more practical videos like this. Btw the sxs looks sweet. If I needed a 4 seat sxs that Honda would be at the top of my list. Was a big Honda ATV fan in the late 80s early 90s but they really lost me in the 2000s. The 2010 time frame in particular. Dated utility machines lacking critical features (front looking diffs for instance) and I seen many of the electronic automatic transmissions fail with corresponding exorbitant repair costs. It's like the ATV division just didn't care and their legendary reliability was just a memory. I hear that's changed thankfully.
