- Hello my lovely bunch of people and welcome back to another Morissette Amon Reaction as well as my possibly 3rd if not more Sohyang Reaction.
Both ladies are great talents with great voices and it really all comes down to preference, so just be respectful and enjoy!

I just found Sohyang's voice much enjoyable and delicious to listen. And also her singing style.. so fearless, incomparably magnificent and beautiful. I really loved every renditions of hers. It doesn't mean Morissette is bad, but sometimes not enough to satisfy my ears which expecting more lol

+ Tone and musicality as well. Morissette's fans always use cunning words degrading other singers to make their singer look good when they hear someone is technically better. Sohyang has one of the most ethereal voice tone on earth and tons of phenomenal renditions of songs in her own version.

Fortunately, these false critics and their misguided technical elitism are readily and rightfully dismissed by actual scholars of the voice, working singers, and genuine supporters of the art form.

They both are incredible, but for me it‘s Morissette. Her voice is just so angelic and sounds so full at the same time.
Years ago i thought that no one on this world has this angelic voice i already imagined.
Then Morissette came, since then i’m a huge fan.
Honestly, this is not even up for debate… Mori is, of course, a great singer. However, she always sounds the same no matter what song she sings..
However, So-hyang creates a unique charm for each song with her own clear voice. I think her way of conveying emotions, storytelling, and appropriate vocal techniques are hard to find among existing female singers..
This is why we love her...!!

The top two vocalist as of now. It's down to preferences and it's Morissettes tone so warm and rounded but that doesn't mean soyang isn't great love those high sustains notes.🔥👑👑
Definitely agree with your analysis. I’m a big Sohyang fan but you can certainly see where Morisette shines in the mid belt and lower notes. Both incredible vocalists.

@@KaungThantSin-zk3zz Sohyang is my favorite female vocalist on the planet. I’ve listened to pretty much every song English and Korean multiple times over the past 2 years when I discovered her. Everyone is the most passionate performance I’ve seen her do but I also love “Fate” as one of my favorites. I was merely acknowledging Morisette as a wonderful vocalist as well. I just happen to be more of a Sohyang fan.
both good singers they have their own techniques soh yang's voice is thin mid and high clean sounding its so good that sounds autotuned but its not. while mori's voice is thick mid and high range with more natural sounding and also her ( whistle and grits/growls) it will depends on listener's preference
Both amazing singers, I always say “It’s not fair to compare singers.” Each singer has something to offer and they’re amazing in their own ways. Sohyang’s voice type is higher and lighter, while Morissette’s is heavier and kinda stronger in the mid-belts!
I will always pick Mori but the world is the real winner having these two incredible artists to enjoy

It's not about being biased but about someone's preference when it comes to singing.. I appreciate the technical aspect when hitting high notes but I prefer depth and resonance❤❤

Love them both but I'm bias to Mori. What I love about Mori is even when she's belting she doesn't lose grounding and bass in her voice. While So Hyang loses grounding and sounds so thin when she's belting that it doesn't sit well in my ears.

Because the original commenter respectfully expressed their opinion, and aside from plain old timbre preferences, there IS some merit to their statement that Sohyang's voice lacks core compared to Morissette's (especially post Seth Riggs). And this person happens to prefer the latter, as do I. People can acknowledge that someone is an exceptional singer while preferring someone else.
@@yoojin3877sohyang got the highest voice no doubt about that because her voice is thin the reason why she can reach the highest note but her overuse of twang even in midbelt to the point her tonality suffers.. she sounded like her nose is clogged and she did so many unnecessary high notes that removed the essence and emotions of the song.. singing is not all about belting for the sake of belting..
For me it's not always who has higher voice but the impact....I always love Mori

For me it's my ipenion who's better or good singer they both a good singer but for interms of emotion or style the way she sang I'll go to morissette. mori the way she sang she has an emotion the highest notes it's really good sound nice to my eirs the way she sang so yang it's also a good singer but sometimes the way she sang they don have an emotions more on shouting but not all the time the way she sang.. I know I'm not a singer if you sang a song. you need to know the message of the song if this heartfelt/happy/emotional/rock songs so you need to delivered to your audience what is implied of the songs so your audience they can relate they can feel the emotions you had the way you sang.. Soyang and morissette are really good singer

Both of them are good singer it’s a matter of song choices only and it’s a matter of what is suitable in our ears. There is sometimes the song is good for you , but this other song is not because of your voice texture, so Hyang voice is thin, if you like thin voice definitely you go for her but if you like powerful thick voice but also high and can be very low also morisette is for you, over all both are good ❤❤❤

Morisette has the better timber, thus produces better sound. However, as far as technicality is concerned, So hyang is the textbook. She's like the manual of an appliance.
Sohyang is belting for the sake of belting... Sohyang everybody knows you can hit the high notes no doubt about that but by doing that more often in the whole entire song even if its not necessary which i find it boring, monotonous and out of control. Singing is not all about hitting the high notes.. low register is gold my dear it gives emotions and soul to the song..

Morissette is a amazing! i love it!
For me personally it's Morissette all the way through. And I don't say that Sohyang is a bad singer. I like Morissette's warm, full and rich tone much better, even in her whistles, and I feel every note that she sings. I find Sohyang's voice too sharp, sometimes even disturbing, especially in the higher belts. I don't feel anything with Sohyang.
Morissette is my bias as well. However I do very much feel what Sohyang is singing. Her beautiful voice can truly tell a story, and melodies that she creates are stellar. I just think when someone is such a good technical singer people will describe their singing as "not emotive" which to me clearly isn't the case with Sohyang. Just for me :D

Love both Artists but SoHyang sings with so much Passion and precision and her pitch is always perfect, transitions from one register is seamless ,I venture to says she has complete Mastery over her Mixed Voice! Incredible! Both singers are World Class and Both have a lot of Class as well!

In my opinion , Mori voice is fuller and thick while so hyang is thin and sharp and she can easily hit high note......But im more prefer Mori coz she gave the song feeling❤❤❤and she more versatile❤
I've heard lots of belters and not easily impressed with just high notes. There are singers who belts and hurt my ears and sounds pleasant. Sfill love Mori's tone high or low.

There were so many biased opinions towards Mori I cannot even start where. I appreciate that you are favoring Mori, but shouldn't even bother analyzing these performances cause every single analysis you said is not technically true. You did not judge fairly cause your opinion was clearly biased, said, "oh this one belongs to Mori" before even listening to Sohyang singing next song. There was confirmational bias everywhere. You are continuously searching for your validation for Mori while saying otherwise for Sohyang that a key is too low for her, which so many expert musician and audience disagree. Infect, most musicians would prefer easy belting over pushed belt of Mori. Sohyang was not only technically miles ahead of Mori, but her delivery and interpretation was much more professional. I would have okay with you if you said this was just your personal preference, but the fact that you stated you" judged fairly" when there was confirmational bias in preselecting your evidence for your opinion before even listening to others, constructed schema, your own stereotypical musical preferences that are not even true in musical techniques show your biased opinions throughout your entire video.
Well that's a long comment just to say "I disagree with you" :D But to make a few points, there is such thing as range and singing comfortably within that range. Sohyang voice is higher, which is why when you look at her competition songs you'll hear insanely high belting, because it's more impactful due to her range. Her C5's and lower belts, even D5's at times, just don't have that potency. You can hear she is not trying at all, which is remarkable, but it also has less weight to it. Now, is she technically proficient? Absolutely. Probably more than majority of the singers in the entire world. And I'm gonna like her more than Morissette depending on the song she's singing. I think that was shown in my reaction as well. Similarly, Morissette is not gonna sing B5 consistently because her voice is not as comfortable up there.

Sohyang's voice is so thin thats why she can reach the highest note her overuse of twang even in midbelts she uses twang to the point her tonality suffers... It sounds like her nose is clogged..she also don't have a variety styles and colors in her belt, i already watched most of her korean songs and english cover she sounds the same in every song no variation of colors and weights in her belts.. I found her monotonous and boring... I know her fans will say she has an amazing technique well for me technique is just a tool you can use to execute a song beautifully, you have to be careful in using your technique because if you are too conscious in using your teachnique it makes your performance bland and unrelatable, it looses the message of the song.. Singing is not just about belting for the sake of belting, self-control is also important ... there are some songs that suits her voice especially if its mellow like her song MISTY i like that one... But if a song demands a deep or low notes she uses her mid range like in her Mariah and Whitney cover they need to change the arrangement of the song because she do not have those low notes.. Well low notes are Gold it gives emotion and feelings to a song...
There is really a big difference in their singing style, I find Sohyang very nasally specially her high notes and theyre thin. Im just a fan of full rounded belts, also Morissette tone is rich and dark, that her voice is so adaptive to any genres, the resonance is amazing as well, Mori voice reminds me of Whitney in terms of thickness and richness.

Sohyang is a monster vocalist for sure! But her voice belongs in the power ballad and gospel like music genre.

Before the pandemic got in the way, she was recruited by Mariah Carey's former producer to sign with Capitol Records, and he went on record calling her talent "unparalleled" and thought she could be even bigger than Mariah. And even though she has chosen marriage and a quieter life in the Philippines since the pandemic, David Foster asked her to perform in a series of shows with him last year and she has worked with Disney multiple times now, just off the top of my head. And those are just the offers the general public knows about. It's totally fine if you prefer Sohyang, but don't try to say no one has "scouted" Morissette just because you personally don't know about it.
