Thanks for the 10 year review. I have the 2008 S5 (manual) with only 85,000Kms and i absolutely love this beast. i am due to refresh brakes and control arms that i know will be expensive - but one of the downsides to owning such a car. still puts a smile on face everyday.
thanks for this video its exactly what I was looking for, im currently looking at a used S5 V8 at right under 150k in the 6spd auto going for a great deal and I wanted to see someone who has experience with one at those miles. Glad to see it isn't nearly as tragic as people want to put it as, honestly most of the issues ive seen from you and others seems like regular maintenance outside of the control arms which is kind of ridiculous. I definitely feel a lot more confident about buying one of these
Love it,I fixed coolant problem and with oil leak,312000 km and no problem with engine,Transmission Dsg perfect,But bearings came noise from trasmision so I guess will be expensive to fix.
@twoguysonecoupe1050 not sure the exact years but the rs5 was made on the b8 platform, we just didn't get them, brought the rs5 to the states with the b8.5 from 2013 to 2015
Do them yourself, these are pretty simple to replace. I have been replacing these Audi control arms since the days of having my Audi 90's, Passat, few B5 A4's and now B6 S4.
I saw it was auto and what a disappointment. Love my B6 S4 6 speed with the addition of long tube headers and full Fast Intentions cat back exhaust, so much fun to drive.

Thnakyou for the review update been considering getting this car now i iknow what to expect and what to look for before buying
No problem! Thanks for watching!
Thank You for this! I’ve been heavily considering a B8.5 RS5 but I think I’d be pretty satisfied with this.
Yes, this was basically the rs5 before the rs5. I don’t think the rs models existed in 2011.

4-6k to get controls arms done?! 😮

Idk why people are hattin over you not having a manual they have the weirdest clutch i had one. But super nice car dude
What type of exhaust do you have?
akrapovic exhaust, cat back :)
Looking at buying one! But worried all the high mileage ones have been affected by the carbon build up. Did you ever do a carbon cleaning on yours?
do you think 16k for one of these with 73k miles worth?
No way control arms should wear out like that. Bushings and whatnot maybe, but not the physical linkages.
I have a 2012 s5 and I don’t have the option to change my drive modes like dynamic comfort and all that was that an option?
Yes… better to not have it seems to have turned out. They fail and also can’t upgrade suspension very easily
Havent run into the inatake manifold problem yet?
No intake problems yet. Did a walnut shell blast to clear carbon around 80k miles
@@twoguysonecoupe1050 how much that run you?
Did they clean the manifold also or only the valves?
Would you rather have gotten a manual ? Is it faster in a manual or does it have same 0-60 times ? In the market just not sure which one to get.
The automatic was great just for its use case of full time daily. Manual would’ve been too much work for the. 45 min commute to work/school every day
@@twoguysonecoupe1050the manual version turns this car into an actual fun enthusiast vehicle
How much does a carbon clean run ya
@@N4smiyeezyy $650
How often you change oil ?
Right around 8-10k miles
So the Engine is Reliable?
For the most part yes!
stopped watchin when realized this is automatic
