Playing with broken (sili)"glass" to make my sili art piece 🖼️

- Where are my other crafty hoarders at?! Gotta save all the things because they might come in handy later!! (or it's just a really cute thing) ! though if I'm being perfectly honest I'm more of a hoarder of every tid bit of crafty knowledge I can scrounge up and figure out how to mash together at some point. All my piles just let me make whatever project springs to mind without having to go get stuff which I find very helpful as momentum is everything for me!
This is silicone glass. It is used in movies to look like broken glass but be safe to touch. It feels like brittle rubber. Here I am securing it down with silicone caulk (practically nothing else sticks to it lol) . I managed to use up basically all of my sili scraps! Though I may make a few more of these art pieces in the future. I'm super happy with how it came out even if I didn't start out with a fully formed plan 😜 which means more sili vids in the future if any one wants them 😂

@@JaylonahI would imagine so, as it’s not glass obviously there is zero danger of being hurt, the only potential danger is it being swallowed, but if you’re supervising it should be fine
I love the name sili glass, it's like both a compositional description, AND an assessment. Like "oh, Silly glass, you're supposed to be rigid and sharp and ANGRY!!"

That would be dope to maybe drip something like watercolor paint or just something that’s been diluted enough to just run into all the cracks and crevices and either do different shades of a color or different colors could be really cool to see. A colored background and/or lights would definitely be cool to see as well as many of the other people have commented. I do really love just the clear though cause it’s just a cool design and texture and looking at it straight on vs sideways is such a cool effect. Really amazing!! Hope you get/got some amazing sleep though and thank you for sharing this art piece!! 💚💜🖤

ooo this is one of my favorites of your pieces!! ridiculously cool and textured and reminds me of some of the formations ice makes out in nature.
Adding some dye to the base would make it stand out a lot more i think. Really impressive though!

I swear this side of RUclips is where I find my people 😂 this isn't even the forbidden version of any food I just wanna put it in my mouth.
It'd be really cool if you used alcohol inks on this. Like make a wash with the inks and let the more concentrated colors drip into the crevices but allow the more transparent colors to thin out in the smooth sections. I think it would give a really neat effect.

That is super cool but if I were you I would put a clear box around it whether can be removed when you want to play with it but I'm just concerned about the Dust getting in the cracks overtime

I think it would turn out better with some contrast color at edges - it doesn't matter if it was paint/resin/light. It would make this more interesting. Currently everything blends together

It looks Super cool. But, and idk if its even possible to color already made siliglass, i think having a few colored pieces spread throughout so it was more of a stained glass type look would have made it look even better. Either way its super cool lookong and i really like it.
