      Ferris is great, thank you so much for doing a Ferris SRS video. I've been waiting this entire time for you to get to the Ferris and stand-on mowers and this is great now that it's finally here. I'm looking at purchasing the Z1 towards the end of the year here. Can't wait to see it more.

    “...give us your feedback, and tell us what we need to do better.” Craig, that’s a great closing line. It shows receptivity to input on areas where the product can be improved. The perfect mower doesn’t exist anywhere, from any manufacturer. However, those that demonstrate that they are journeying toward that goal, with constant improvement along the way, will always get a serious look from me.
    Brian, looking forward to your videos on this model.

    Ferris by far has the best stand on mowers on the market. I’ve tried every other brand and Ferris had them beat everytime!! I have a Z2 and definitely recommend it...

    I’ve basically have used every standing unit, and I can say this is the best one yet! I’ve been in the business for 30 yrs. The hydraulics are quick snappy, and like you said buttery smooth. I just came from grandstands to these. The cut is a lot better than Toro, and stripes nicely. Toro cuts nice but when in deeper grass the Toro leaves sprigs, and have to double cut. Not that way with Ferris. The Briggs 28 Hp Vanguard has the torque like a diesel, and has plenty of power to spare. If you are looking for a stander, I highly recommend the ones I’ve got is the 52/61” Z2.

    I have a 61” Z2. Almost 300 hours and I love it! At one point I had a Scag and the Z2 at the same time. After one year of using both I traded the Scag in on an 61” IS2100.

      Max Bewsey I have both the z2 52" (30 hours) and the z1 36" (85 hours). Absolutely love the z2, I'm sure you do as well. I wouldn't really recommend the 36 though. I too have a bunch of gated back yards, but the 36 seems very heavy for such a small wheel base, and also lacks quite a bit of power. The hydros don't feel nearly as responsive as the z2. I am considering selling the z1 to get the 36 hydro walk behind.

      Michael Zeleznik... thank you for the info! I just would like a small stander for those smaller backyards.

      Michael Zeleznik well the z1 has to beat a push mower any day right? I got a z1 being delivered to me right now. I don’t like reading your comment about it lol. I’m expecting it to be a game changer against my push mower. Am I going to be wrong?

    • @Michaelzeleznik4765
      @Michaelzeleznik4765 6 лет назад +1

      mccool24 don't worry, you will love it over a push. i love it over my old scag 36 ztr. Mine may just need some need hydro fluid, but it is no where near as smooth as my z2, however it still is a great machine.

      I have the z1 36in I’m thinking of buying a used z2 52in or a z3x 61inch 👀 I think a may just go with the z2 and pull the trigger on the z3x next season . Ferris is hella reliable 💪🏿 I’ll never push another lawn unless the customer paying double maybe even Tripple depending on conditions 😆

    Ferris mowers are great! Used about 8 different models over the last 11 years and their zero turns are amazing. I mow 7 acres of our fire company property which is mostly uneven field using the IS 3100 with a Vanguard 32 hp big block in a 61" deck and 7 acres takes about 2 hours on average. We have had the mower for 9 years and its going strong with 500 hours and no major issues. Dealer support and service is huge though. Best of luck. I have faith in Ferris. If this unit performs like their zero turns it may take the crown.

    We bought two new Ferris SRS Z2 with the 28hp B&S engine and 52” decks...... one has 350hrs the other has 500hrs now, they have been awesome machines. They will climb a hill like no other, plenty of power, the efi Briggs motor is flawless, great cut quality, fast and comfortable.... my only real complaint has been where the oil filter is located makes a mess and we have one lift bar for the deck that periodically will bend. The Oil Guard system wasn’t available when I bought my mowers but that took care of the messy oil filter issue, and we made our own lift bar to solve that issue..... love the Ferris machines

    I have 5 Ferris walk behinds but am considering the standers to increase production and trailer space. Can’t wait to see how they handle hills. I also want to see how easy maintenance is. How do you lift deck to swap blades? How easy is it to reach spindles for greasing? How easy is changing oil?How do you jump curbs with a stander?

      The 36” Z1 has plenty of power. 23hp on a 36” cut....that’s a ton!
      The Z1 does pretty good on the hills and slopes..when you first start using the 36”, there’s a “get used to” time because of the smaller size (I guess there was for us because of running 72 inch mowers as a standard on most of our jobs)
      I would definitely recommend the 23hp:36 inch FERRIS! Z1

  • @Stegs

    Alot of guys running those over here in the grand rapids/grandville area for sure. Woodland equipment sells alot of them, scag and wright. Michiana Lawn Care I saw a F320Z with the Kawi FX850V EFI for $8000. However I would have preferred the VG 37EFI with Oil Guard. I believe the IS3200Z adds about $1000 which gives you the suspension. Was that model an option, or was that model not discounted? Curious why you didn’t opt for the suspension model.

    The best selling point about the Ferris is the vanguard oil guard system, that engine will last forever if you change the oil regularly.
    I have the 35hp vanguard on my Hurricane z3 and it sounds like a jet. I run Mobil synthetic oil in it and the oil never gets dirty. There’s lots of good mowers out like Toro, Wright, Scag but the oil guard system makes this mower idiot proof for your workers.

    I have owned the Ferris Z1 48" for 1.5 years. I love it. Only thing, it is not very good on hills due to its size. Other than that it is great value!

      Deese Lawn and Home Services Inc on steeper hills or when wet, don’t go down hill, only up hill. Even going sideways doesn’t work, but if it’s dry and not too steep, the Z1 is the baddest, quickest, most fun machine ever.

      Richard Blood side to side on a very steep hill it does not do the best. I demoed a Wright Z 52 that did much better on the same hill. Other than that we love the machine no issues at all and great cut. I just bought the Wright ZX 61" might get the Z3 Ferris 61" soon!

      kevin lancaster I have only used side to side, not up and down....

    • @RealRichBlood
      @RealRichBlood 6 лет назад

      the main issue with the smaller deck/wheel base SRS Z series is side to side on slopes or when going down hill. The smaller mowers tend to want to "spin" into their natural center of gravity pulling on them down their least resistant path down the slope. If you get what I mean. Up Hill only is the best because it puts the weight father back an into the axis of the rear wheels, with very little weight on the deck side. Trying the side to side method will result in skiing rather than driving. Mowing diagonally as the mower and slip balance out across the slope. It will leave marks down into the top soil for sure. Attempting to go down hill seems fine enough until there is an obstacle (small tree) within your pass and you must deviate from your straight down path to try and go around. This usually results in spin sliding sideways and being stopped by said obstacle. On really challenging slopes, only use this machine to go straight up, leaving any turning to be done when you top the hill.

      kevin lancaster wow dude thank you so much for your input. I cut a lot of properties with small gates and big backyard with hills that are terrible for a push mower but not that crazy. And everyone’s comments talking about the bigger models not being good on hills has me doubting the z1 that I have on the way right now. I’m wondering if I made a bad decision after reading some of the comments here about 48s and stuff and then I see your comment making me feel much like I thought it would be. Very glad to see your comment and info on it. So thanks to you!

    Hey buddy I really enjoy your videos. I am still standing behind my bob cat I just have never seen anything cut any better 61 in perfectly last level 36 horsepower Vanguard wonderful motor. I never make a cut that doesn't amaze me just how beautiful it is. Sheriff's are good Mowers but I'm just not a fan of the shocks.

      I will try, perhaps after we demo all the bigger units. Well see, I don't do many gated back yards so it's tough for me to do those units.

    Nice looking mower, Brian! I'm interested in seeing how it runs and cuts, especially with the stripe kit.

    Brian make sure to cut in wet thick grass if possible that may sway your opinion. That being said great mower especially with that 37 vanguard

      Glad you had the opportunity in wet grass. Some complain it clumps when wet so I just wanted to throw it out there. I’m sure the velocity plus and JD seven iron deck which are king for wet grass are better but honestly the Ferris deck looks like it would do well. I had heard some complaints of wet grass but glad they aren’t 100% true. Thanks brian

    How did it compare to the Vride 2? I own 2 exmarks one 48" lazer z hp and one 60" lazer x. One ferris 48" CCDD and one 36" scag vride II . I like the scag just fine but I kinda regret not buying the ferris 36" Z1
