Rusty leaves to ThunderClan without Redtail and when he comes Redtail's already dead and he wants to join the Clan now not only to live a life of excitement and wonder, but to avenge his father.

This is fantastic! I really like how you decided to make Redtail Rusty's father, it's funny that he now isn't some random kittypet with a destiny anymore, but instead has an initial bond to the Clans and a reason to join them. Can't wait for the next part :^)
It was never a random kittypet, it was Jake. (Although I've always had an inkling that it was originally supposed to be Pinestar. I had this whole theory that Tigerclaw, Fireheart, and Scourge were all half brothers.)
To be fair though, at the time the first arc came out, Jake might as well have been a random kittypet. 😅
(Edit: now that I'm looking at these comments on a PC, I realized North meant Rusty, not Jake, as "some random kittypet" lol. Point still stands though about Jake, best dad boi was nowhere to be found)
I mean I thought it was good from a positive messages sort of thing for Firestar to be a random kittypet, because like you know “you can be whatever you want”, etc. but it makes more sense for Firstar to want to join the clans if he’s heard about them from someone who doesn’t think that they are all murderers.
Northflower Rusty has always had a reason to join ThunderClan! His in two prophecies! Plus his 'strange' dreams, his will into the forest, meeting strange cats in the forest who then invited him to join ThunderClan. Duh. People read the books, it's not that hard
That's literally what I just said. He had a reason, and the reason was that it was his *destiny* -> he had dreams from what's supposedly Starclan

They are not! Honestly that fact didn't have much weight in the original series so in this version Sandpaw and Redtail are unrelated. Thanks for the watch :D

This is a really interesting take of Into the Wild! I wonder how Firepaw will react to hearing about his father's death? I guess that will make his quarrel with Tigerclaw much more personal, albiet a bit more cliched. Ah well, its no big deal, I am sure this project will turn out fantastic regardless!

I really like how Redtail softens it down for Rusty. Like how he tells that little ode- He makes it friendly, soft and warm. ( 3:55-4:05 )
i like how this gives rusty a justifiable drive to go into the clans rather than the wild just randomly “calling” to him as his destiny, and it makes us curious about the clans themselves right off the bat with redtail as the link between both worlds here. not to mention redtail actually being a character. it does make tigerclaw killing redtail a bit clichéd since fireheart/star now has the whole “you killed my father” motivation but this is still a very interesting take, i hope to see more whenever the time comes

Redtail being Rusty's father blew me away, I really love that idea? That stronger connection beyond "mystical destiny" is just really cool? Gosh, you guys have already done an amazing job capturing me and holding the appeal of the first book! I can't wait until the next episode!

This was amazing! And I actually really like the changes so far. Though the idea of Rusty initially joining the clans out of a desire for a fulfilling life is a good one, I can see how his relation to Redtail could be a strong motivation too--and one that is perhaps more easily relatable to the audience. But I know this will make Redtail's eventual death much more heartbreaking. This time on a personal level! This looks great so far, and I can't wait to see the rest of it! Great job to everyone who participated!

This fan fiction touched me alot and i almost cryed watching it its alot changing story but who cares about the story change its a fan fiction by you and oh god i cant wait for the next part its really amazing
I love Redtail as Rusty's father! He has so little time in the books and the way you fit him into this plot line is very well done! The art is beautiful, the voices are AMAZING, the changes make sense, and this is overall extremely well done! I cant't wait to see more!

Warriors: Fire Alone is a fan-project that I wrote for fun back in October that adapts the first arc into a stageplay. Because it's an adaptation a lot of things were cut and changed to fit into a shorter run time and different medium. On a whim I asked if people wanted to voice act it and they said yes and here we are! None of the actors asked for payment and boy did they do a stellar job! I'm blown away by the talent!!
I hope that you'll have fun with this project as much as I have, as a writing exercise I've learned a lot from it and it's exciting to revisit the first arc in a new way! See you next time!

With every passing year a new adaption or a new au of the original books arise and with these new years hails products that are far better than those before them. This video is no exception. THIS is the warrior cats should have had, honestly. Your writing and stage direction for this is a MASTERPIECE and enviable to a hugh degree. I don't know what I thought going into this, but coming out of it - fresh off the hype train - all expectations were blown exponentially out of the water. Between the writing, the concept behind this, all the artist talents, and the absolutely phenomenal voice over cast I have to say that this is by far one of the best warrior cats adaption created.
It may not have the original story line or be fully animated, but it this case I think it works far more better and I frankly love it entirely for what it is and I don't see how it can improve further past perfection! Honestly. It's just plain amazing and I'm already reverting to a 5 year mental state in my impatience for the next release. I already hella wanna draw fan art of this too, especially since the probability of me ever being able to make art specifically for it is low. Eeeeeks. I feel like a middle schooler I'm fangirling so hard. Keep this up and you'll go further than antone before you, that's a promise. I can't wait to see what happens next.
Why is everyone so stupid? THIS IS AN FAN-ADAPTATION that is why the plot is different. One to cut some stuff out plus it is a new twist which makes the plot go faster. Can't wait till the next episode!

I love how you made yellow fang the medicine cat instead of spotted leaf and that lion heart died not redtail, and that it was a windclan attack and not a riverclan attack!
This is great and really well made, some of the changes seem a bit unnecessary but oh well it’s not like I can change that. How will Sandpaw and Firepaw work out if Redtail is now Fires dad, will her dad be different. Again some of the changes ore fine with me, like yellowfang being thunderclans med cat from the beginning, makes sense. Windclan being the aggressors... strange but I can go with that, interested in the story there. But why Goldenflower being big hurt Instead of Mousefur? That just doesn’t make sense.
But that’s just a little pet peeve overall I’m liking this and I’m intrigued on where this is going.

i remember watching this a few years back on the RUclips app on the old wiiU that I had and thinking that this was amazing, i still think its amazing. you don't have to continue it but i wanted to say though that I love the effort you put into the voice acting and the animation.
Everyone did a really good job in this congrats on making this project happen! I'm very interested in seeing where this take on the story goes. I'm sad we didn't get to see any Lionheart though, RIP Lionheart
Just a little side critique of the story, I think it would have been better for Redtail not to mention the clans to Rusty, it would have been better if Rusty didn't know why Redtail lived in the forest or why Redtail had to stop seeing him. Rusty could still want to live in the forest with his father without knowing about clan life. Then when Rusty inevitably goes to look for Redtail, we still get the introduction to the clans through Rusty's eyes, this is more so that the exposition about clan life would feel a bit more natural and it would keep a bit of mystery for both the audience and the character. Its honestly just a small thing that I was thinking about thats all :')

Just now as I was watching it, I remembered how almost as soon as Rusty ( Firestar) joins ThunderClan, Redtail is announced dead. So it gave me an idea that I might as well share.
What if when Tigerstar drags in Redtail, he is on the brink of death to Silverpelt and Rusty(Firestar) see's his dead 'father' or dying father? And what if Redtail saw Rusty and knew forth that maybe is son was safe their.
Then there'd probably be a whole scene of Rusty mourning his fallen father and then it would drag into the scene of Longtail antagonizing Rusty for being a Kittypet.
And so on and so on in the book.
(Or idk maybe it could just be how it is in the book were he's already dead and Redtail just watches over him in StarClan)
I just thought it could be a SnAZz-FUll( that's totally a word,) event in the scene of Redtail's death.

First of all, I really loved this!!! Can't wait for the next part!
I know that this is a stageplay, not the books, and should be judged on its own terms, but my curiosity is piqued and I wonder how the strategies you've chosen to make things clearer and more concise will change the rest of the story.
I can see that you were very quick and deliberate in setting up the characters' motives. Rusty wants to join Thunderclan, mostly to be like his father, and Bluestar wants to keep the clan strong and find out how 'fire alone will save our clan'. Bluestar's motives are very similar to how they appeared in the book, which is pretty straightforward, since Bluestar has always had fairly clear motives.
The idea of Rusty wanting to join his father is a very interesting way of solving the "problem" of motive. It is definitely clearer than his motives which serve as a catalyst in the book: "vaguely dissatisfied with life, afraid of getting fat and lazy, has dreams about the forest, feels called to take up an invitation to join a band of strange wildcats". These are hard to verbalize, so they don't make for particularly good dialogue, and they are also fairly vague and don't tell us about the core of Fireheart's character.
In the books it's not really important WHY Rusty joins Thunderclan - just that he does, and that he lives by his decision. He's still young and his character hasn't been created yet. It's the way in which Firepaw faces the struggles of the first book that establish his character for the rest of the series (his kindness, friendship, duty, loyalty, fairness, desire to prove himself despite kittypet blood, etc.). But that kind of lengthy character development doesn't suit a stageplay well.
For most of the first book Firepaw's major motives are caring for his new friends and defying his kittypet roots, but you couldn't set these as main motives because it would be impossible to establish these from the very beginning, and even then, they are secondary to the main plot of the series, which is protecting the clan from Tigerstar. It was important for you to establish motives which would 1. be in existence at the beginning 2. be compelling 3. carry through to the rest of the stageplay, or at least develop naturally into the next motive.
I suppose you could have said that Starclan gave Rusty the dreams and gave Bluestar the prophecy, so they are the driving force, but this tells us very little about character and makes for a pretty low-stakes plot too, so I'm glad you didn't.
Another "problem" you've tackled is loyalty. In the books, Firewpaw's loyalty to the clan is largely undeserved - more a product of his joining and training with them at a young impressionable age than anything he actually owes this clan in particular. However, by setting up Redtail as Rusty's father, you have made his loyalty to the clan more plausible by linking it to loyalty to his father.
I wonder how this will affect Fireheart's relationship to Bluestar. In the books, Firepaw wants to impress Bluestar and earn her respect since she was the first person to believe in him, but here his father was the first person to believe in him. Firepaw might be less motivated by respect for Bluestar and more motivated by wanting to live up to his father's legacy.
I wonder if Rusty's relationship with Redtail will also affect his decision to oppose Tigerclaw - in the book it's mainly about justice (and helping Ravenpaw) (and protecting the clan from a murderer) while here I suspect revenge for Redtail's death will play a part. You probably won't even include Ravenpaw as a character.
The whole father/son warrior/kittypet dynamic reminds me of Cloudtail and Fireheart's relationship, which makes it more believable, to me. I wonder if this is a combination of both relationships (Bluestar/Firepaw and Fireheart/Cloudpaw), in which case Cloutail will not appear in this version.
Finally, you changed one of Fireheart's inner struggles by not giving him full kittypet blood. Fireheart's struggle to prove himself despite his blood has always been one of the pillars of his character, especially at the beginning. But now you've given him more credibility to his clanmates by having a deputy as a father, so kittypet blood might play a smaller role.
Anyway, congratulations again for finishing this first part! I've never thought much about the details of adapting something and I'm excited to see how this plays out!
But what about Redtail being Sandstorms father.
AAA IT'S FINALLY OUT! I'm so excited for this project, it's such a cool concept and all the changes makes the story so interesting, it almost feels like I'm getting introduced to warriors again. I love this so far!! The art, voice acting, and writing is fantastic! I think it's really interesting that Redtail is now Rusty's father, it gives him more meaning than just being a random cat who died. I also noticed the change from Mousefur's wounds to Goldenflower's; I thought that was a good choice since Goldenflower will be more important later on. All in all, great work so far!!
I was weary of this at first but after watching the whole episode I can safely say that I am going to thoroughly enjoy this! Thank you so much, we need more people thinking outside the box like this in our community! :D

Cassandra Snyder it's so simple to fix these problems. After all, it's an adaptation. There are a lot of big changes, Sand doesn't have to have Redtail as her father and she also doesn't have to nearly die. Simple. Spottedleaf is completely useless, and you know it.

Oh God.. THIS IS AMAZING!! I LOVE the dynamic between Redtail and Rusty. And I love that change alot. Also I am a bit sad about Lionheart being deputy before Redtail cause I like him alot. And Mousefur got replaced at the beginning with Goldenflower? Mmmmh~ Well but that doesn't really matter. Cause this adaptation is already o so amazing. It is a total new way to narritate the story of our little firecat we love and admire. And I truly being amazed. It is only a fracture of the whole till now and god I can't wait for more.
About the writing: I love Redtail being the narrator. It is a really amazing idea. I love it. Also the changes are a bit surpising they are well made. And How much I love this "In the name of Starclan we protect and guide and lead and love you!". This is my absolute favorite warriors phrase for now. Jeez it is so powerful!!! I can't say so much about it till now because we only now fracture like I said so yeah... But I really love it! Well done!
About the Voice Actor cast: What exactly are you?! The voices fitting so well. The way they acting are so amazing and despite the fact there aren't any realy mimic and body language, but they showing so much emotions! They all did so well. They fit the characters so well. I l truly love it. To all voice actors: You are amazing!!
And Last but not least the artists: Everyone did an amazing job. I saw some styles I directly recognize but a few I didn't know till now. But I love every single scene. Thank you for giving the whole story even more dynamic through such beautiful pictures.
I can't really say how much I love the story already. I actually was nearly to cry when Redtail said he can't come anymore and Rusty followed him. He must felt so betrayed and sad and confused. Redtail said he can't be his son anymore. Saying he can't be with him anymore to protect his clan. And Rusty won't be able to understand that bond for now.... such a poor little kit. I suppose in the next part we will meet Graypaw then? I am curios who will be the narrator in the next Part because Redtail doesn't come to him anymore, maybe it will change to Rusty?

A bit confused why you decided to have Yellowfang take Spottedleaf's place... but I'm guessing you're planning something special for Spottedleaf, at least I hope so, since Firestar and Spottedleaf's relationship was never really touched on when they were alive.
Developing that would be a great idea, and make Spottedleaf's death harder and really test the bond Sandstorm and Fireheart will have later on.

Wow I love this! I like how things are kind of flipped. Yellowfang is thunderclan medicine cat, Redtail is Rusty’s father. When he joins the clan and Redtail is dead this will be so interesting!

I was unsure of the changes at first...
But then I saw that you replaced Spottedleaf with Yellowfang and I was instantly on board pfff
This is a gorgeous twist to the story! It doesn’t change as much as the original that we know and love, but it still gives a kick that makes it AWESOME.
Even with Redtail being Firestar's father in this AU (Which messes up the fact that Sandstorm's father is Redtail. Easy fix, just pretend she has a different father because again this is an AU, not canon to the books.) I really love this twist on the series, Yellowfang already being the medicine cat, and giving Bluestar the fire alone prophecy was very interesting. As well as the idea that Firestar has to avenge his father's death would be a great idea for an AU, and I'm looking forward to the next addition to this story.
This is absolutely fantastic! I like how you made Redtail Rusty's father so he's not a random kittypet that have a destiny but have a initial bond to the clans and actually have a reason to join them. I just can't wait for the next episode! It feels like the first time i read the first lines of words in Into the wild all over again. I can picture the day in the summer when i first opened Into the wild to reed the first book of the fantastic story of Warrior cats. The deaths are going to be so heart breaking. Plus the end gives me goose bumps!
I'm also very excited to se Bluestar's character design in the sun!

I watched this two or three times and I believe this should belong on Netflix or something! You guys did an amazing job on this episode and I’m just jumping around in my house waiting for the next one. I thank you very much for making this and it gives me a WHOLE new perspective of the Warriors series.

OMG! I *LOVE* this, the art sets the situations well and the storry telling with multiple voices is not as easy as some think. Lots of more editing then most single voice audio book. Keep up the amazing work!

I love how you made Redtail Rusty's father! Poor Rusty is going to be sad when Redtail dies, which I hope won't be as soon as he joins the Clan like in the books. And Yellowfang being medicine cat instead of Spottedleaf makes me happy because I strongly dislike Spottedleaf because of how not important she was until AFTER she died.
Part 2 when? I've read through into the wild countless times....and this make the scene where Fireheart sees redtail's dead body even more impactful.
