One thing I realized was that Reverend Insanity really pivoted and helped me when it comes to writing, as an aspiring author I truly enjoyed his work to the point I would stay up binge reading it. This video helped refresh not only how terrifying Fang Yuan is but just how well Ru portrayed the world. Also make more videos, this was a really good first one. Especially for how niche this genre is on RUclips.
Man I really wish Reverend Insanity didn't end, maybe it would have entered the peakest chapters, maybe even greater than chapter 1285. + no one asked you to cook but you came to the kitchen and put a plate of the most absolute fine quisine I've ever seen with the most specific tastes suited for us viewers, please cook some more (I LOVE REVEREND INSANITY!!!)
I never understand the hate toward the zombie arc, i really liked it. It introduced us the Immortal cultivation(as mortal the biggest factor is the Gu, of curse spirit stones are good too. As immortal the biggest factor is your economy, sure immortal killer moves and Gu are a big thing but they cost a lot to maintain) also up to this point his journey was kinda easy, his life experience made his mortal journey a speed run but as immortal his 500 years was nothing special, also was quite funny seeing him struggle with the slow brain function of the zombie body. "To think that one day, I, Gu Yue Fang Yuan, would turn into an idiot."
I do like the zombie arc, especially on a re-read its easier to appreciate with the knowledge of how the immortal world works. I just think people dont like that hes not making as much progress as he could have if he wasnt a zombie. Even on a re-read though i will still skip the wolf king stuff.
@@remy5013 Yeah the wolf king stuff was kind of bland. I get the hate towards that, especially when the difference is magnified by all other arcs being absolute peak fiction and there being peak scenes throughout the novel like when he cultivated fixed immortal travel and walked on the reverse flow river. Wolf king stuff is just simply not as good and will never be Though I do think that zombie arc got undeserved hate (it's cuz I can bear through somewhat slow pacing) (If you want to see actually SLOW pacing read The Mech Touch, I really can't with that web novel (the author is planning to write 10k chapters))
Great video, surprisingly explained a bunch of Fang Yuan's character well and didn't focus on the "edginess", imo Ri, if you can bear with some parts early on, is a masterpiece, the characters, the storytelling, the symbolism(Ren Zu) and everything is just phenomenal, not just by cultivation novel standards, I don't believe how someone can just pick up writing a book and write Ri Also good memes ngl

Got into Xianxia with Battle trough the heavens, soul land and ISland of Silliang, love the genre even with all of its flaws, nice to see a breakdown of a work that many say is a masterpiece, but i could not get into it.
but now that I'm looking at my comment i understand how this could be misread my argument was about how he was that he traveled back in time. The way i saw the video is that i thought the Remy had the idea that he was isekai'd into the world.
