Lyrics:
Turn me on
Wake me up
Try me out
Let me down
Turn me on
Wake me up
Try me out
Let me down, aw
Turn me on (like)
Wake me up (love to)
Try me out (wanna)
Let me down (oh)
Turn me on (like)
Wake me up (love to)
Try me out (wanna)
Let me down, aw (ow)
Turn me on (like)
Wake me up (love to)
Try me out (wanna)
Let me down (oh)
Turn me on (like)
Wake me up (love to)
Try me out (wanna)
Let me down, aw (ow)
Try me, try me, try me out, uh
Try me, try me, try me out, uh
Try me, try me, try me out, uh
Try me, try me, try me out, uh
The way they try to buy me out
They don't know shit
And why nobody finds you out
You got no emotion
Smiling, laughing, singing loud
It's all cloakin
Don't make me fuckin bring you out
Yeah I know the code, it’s fuckin
Turn me on (like)
Wake me up (love to)
Try me out (wanna)
Let me down (oh)
Turn me on (like)
Wake me up (love to)
Try me out (wanna)
Let me down, aw (ow)
Turn me on (like)
Wake me up (love to)
Try me out (wanna)
Let me down (oh)
Turn me on (like)
Wake me up (love to)
Try me out (wanna)
Let me down, aw (ow)
Turn me on (like)
Wake me up (love to)
Try me out (wanna)
Let me down (oh)
Turn me on (like)
Wake me up (love to)
Try me out (wanna)
Let me down, aw (ow)
Darlin, don't even pay it no mind
You can't buy me, can't buy me
At least you got to try it out
Darlin, don't even pay it no mind
You can't buy me, can't buy me
At least you got to try it out
My music is free, to rock y'all
My time, that's for me, above all
I give graciously, but not enough
They see a commodity, not for love
They want a connection, not a beat
They find their collection, incomplete
They pump my passion, openly
They want my laughs and my glee
They'll do the same to, you or me
They’ll try to name you, family
They’ll fame you and blame you, accordingly
Get close to you and claim you, reportedly
They'll pen you a pleasing, profile
Got all wheel greasing, no style
It's cash for closeness, false friends
You object or reject, oh, it all ends
(Did they see you) when you were working late
(Did they see you) when you had a empty plate
(Did they see you) when no one hit your phone
(Did they see you) when you felt fully alone
(Do they know) the things you had to do
(Do they know) what music means to you
(Do they know) the quiet time you need
(Do they know) anything but the greed
(Do they see your) own discoveries
(Do they see your) soul’s recovery
(Do they see your) unique rhythm and tone
(Do they see you) or are you a face they own
(Do they care for you) or your projects
(Do they care for you) as an object
(Do they care for you) like the beat do
(Do they care for you) music people
Darlin, don't even pay it no mind
You can't buy me, can't buy me
At least you got to try it out (at least you got to try it, right?)
Darlin, don't even pay it no mind
You can't buy me, can't buy me
At least you got to try it out
Hey, I don't exist to make shit for ya
Clips for ya, hits for ya, flix for ya (No way, no way, no way, no way)
No no no no
I didn't learn to make you earn more
And turn more of us to some dust for a profit baby, stop it (No way, no way, no way, no way)

best track on the album easily
I preferred cmon , tmo is my 2nd fav
Yea I thought that when I first listened but the album pulls together so much better than other artists so the other songs just show off another facet of this high energy mood aka fuck establishment. But yea it's probably the best song cause it illustrates illustrates fuck establishment vibe in the most chill way but it's consistent. He's fighting and at the end it has the biggest payoff? Idk man I could talk about this music for a bit because it's 2 good
This song goes so hard, the ending is so worth all the buildup and probably wouldn’t be as good without it
by a LANDSLIDE
A few years back my cousin trying to break into the industry whose entire career got completely fucked over for a profit man works in retail now.
That shit sucks man grinding promising artists to dust for a profit it ruins them it really does.
Know people are loving Cold Rock It (myself included), but i'd love an extended version of this. Speaks to the struggle of someone who works hard to please but struggles to please even themselves.
Real modern culture type beat, people will try you out like a pair of shoes and as soon as they're all comfortable with you, they're done with you.
Feel alot of soul put into this, and the lyrics always get me at the end, and I tear up a little.
"Did they see you when you were workin' late? Did they see you with an empty plate? Did they see you when nobody hit your phone?"
i'm tripping from the jager, but really mean what I'm saying
Damn, the commentary in these lyrics hits so hard. I think it's written about how corporations treat people, but the lines really speak to the difficulty of making things for people fullstop.
On one side, there are people I really appreciate the work of that I'd love to get to know because of that work. But I don't really know who they are, I don't really care about *them.*
On the inverse, as someone who creates, I've had people treat me as nothing more than a content machine, turning my love into a commodity and abusing me when I push back.
Really love this song.
T H I S
Definitely one of your best songs, and the biggest standout in the album.
"Where they truly there to see your souls recovery?"
Man that entire breakdown makes me feel like broken heart heard something that it needed to for a long time.
That beat change section needs an extended version.
So good dude.
Listening to this song. First the way I found this song was, because of a streamer and I decided to give it a listen for myself. Sitting here as an artist listening to this lyrics, as an artist? It hits me so different (traditional artist by the way. Meaning Drawing, mostly digitally). Like understand, art is hard to get into and I started it to get my frustration and passion out (in 2014 by the way), because I didn't know how to express it. I always want to be alone and do nothing, but draw. But then there came a time when I had a choice to make my art, my career.. ? And man... Trying to make my art into a career, while also trying to make it for myself, and trying to prove to other's that it wasn't a waste of time? Sent me into a spiral of depression, self hate and I also started to hate doing the thing I loved the most. My art in general. I always thought I wasn't good enough, no one would want my art, no one cares about it or me. And to some degree that's true, but I did that so much? I forgot about the reason why I wanted to draw in the first place. For myself. Nowadays, I'm better at art, because I was so down on myself about being better, but at what cost? My own mind and the constant inferiority that I feel to my betters? The art world is a messed up one. But I no longer care or compare myself to others. And all the networking and being ignored through all of it? Made me feel like I was truly alone and had to do everything myself. But you know what? I feel a sense of pride in that, but in the end? It still feels like a blank slate, but fuck it. I do art for me now. Commissions are just a given thought. And having this song, with an amazing tone and even more amazing lyrics? I couldn't be more sure that art is what I want to do, and I may be down on myself at times? But no one (who isn't an artist) will understand the work I put in.
This is like, the tenth time I've listened to this song. I must be losing my mind...
SAME
I've been making short stories and recently been getting into art to hit my stride and jam, but I always has this gnawing that if I ain't doing something for someone then what's my art even worth doing? It's a hard thought to shake, being a young artist suuucks dude. Refreshing to hear more triumphant stuff about self autonomy with what people create, inspiring.
Cheers for being so rad, 2 mello! And for sure best song, this slaaaaaps!
You are someone, that's enough. Trust, enjoyed art or anything for so long can district your perceptions of what you love, but in truth what you know is right there already. Thanks, nice comment
I listened to this album on release, and since RUclips or Apple music doesn’t have a comment section I couldn’t say how good this album is. The entire album is a vibe and for some reason feels good as fuck to play on instruments like drums or just to hit along to. This album and Tokyo to future are some of my favorite albums. Thanks!
Will continue recommending this an ur last album to everyone
Love ur stuff man 💓

i love this song sm but i have audio processing isuse stuff n like when i listened to this without looking up the lyrics i thought it was "do they care for you, like the beep boop" as in like they care for you like a robot, music machine
here before you blow up
Insane.
aint no way those lyrics are just
Wow. That sounds so far from "dream smooth". I definetly like the way it is going!
This is a long shot, but Sir Mello, can you let me know what you sampled that "hey" from starting at 3:33?
Something tells me it's Beatrice's voice from Over The Garden Wall, but there's no way.
nope, not from that show im pretty sure. that sample is actually pretty old and ive heard it in other music such as PRTs song "Steady Slangin"
ive also been wondering about the origins on it and im borderline about to just email Mello to ask for the sample
I have a question did you do some of yhe music on the game super liminal
He did the lofi versions of the songs yea
This album makes me want to play Jet Set Radio.
Please release the acapella for this

This comment is to help this channel in the algorithm.
Do you sell records?
I just gotta say the artists of 30 years better be on this type of shit because if this "industry" stays this fucking dusty like a factory job man Idk
