I was at Silverstone watching the truck racing in the mid 80s . As im walking behind the main grand stands sat on one of the un used tents where they sold stuff at the F1 GP . I saw this guy and i thought thats Barry Sheene . I went over and asked him what he was doing here and he comes out with . Im here to watch the bloody truck racing what else do you think im doing here . So i sat with Barry for an hour just talking and bullshiting all the time other people just walked by this great man

I didn't know who Barry Sheene was at 17 but the older lads I rode with said I crashed like him. Later I learned how to stay on a bike and actually became a club racer and learned who he was. I grew up in the Foggy era and never followed GP's until Troy Bayliss & Colin Edwards moved to them.
His Legend of History in Mike Hellwood of a successor to British Riders for everyone his rispect of Barry Sheene's record in 1976 & 1977. I miss you so much!!

Barry Sheene c’était un véritable gamin agréable à côtoyer hyper sympathique il avait toutes les qualités un pilote qu’on oubliera jamais et j’espère que là-haut il gagne beaucoup de courses avec tous ses amis pilotes malheureusement plus là, j’ai eu la chance de le côtoyer il était très avenant et agréable,on ne peut pas oublier un pilote de cette envergure,il restera à jamais dans mon esprit.

I got pulled over recently for having ''French Se7ens'' on my number plates. ''They're a tribute to my hero Barry Sheene'' I said. ''Well don't go riding like him then - off you go'', said the police officer (after kicking tyres etc). ''Thanks cuntstable!'' I said. We miss you Baz - THANKS for ALL the MEMORIES Matey.

When it comes to Soccer George was Best.
One of the GREATEST riders of all time. Able to win on works and privateer machinery. A genuine hero. If he were around today, Sheene, Kenny Roberts, and Freddie Spencer would lap dog-shit pretenders like Valentino Rossi (where is he now... last again?) 3 or 4 times in a race. That's how good his generation was. And we who are old enough, were lucky to live in such glorious times.
