Once again a great video of the ancient majestic lady. She is as beautiful in the rain as in the sun. True troopers ... needs must and without the bad you wouldn't enjoy the good as much. Keep them coming and Thank you.
I’ve got an old dainese goretex jacket , it’s around 14 years old and never let a drop in , even around Ireland last year which saw biblical amounts come down , I’ve just upgraded to Klim and hope it does the same waterproofing and lasts as long , as far as gloves go I’ve always used rukka goretex and never had a drop of water inside, instead of upgrading your kit you could always buy some Scott waterproofs which are the best on the market and don’t cost the earth
For us carlisle guys a very regular route to oban for a one nighter mate on rt 1250 which he highly recommends after three GSs...me wotever i have at time... rain never a problem all the years riding scotland
Streetguard suit, have heard of poblems, use rukka and halvarsson myself as connecting zips the same in both makes and never leaked, along with daytona boots. Experiance has taught me worth paying the extra for decent gear as lasts longer to.
@@travelsonmymotorbike yeah i know, got misses one from ebay. Most ok but have read of problems. Did Manchester to Portsmouth in biblical rain had to use single lane roads all way as spray was dangerous and stayed dry. Mind you ride RT so protection good. Good luck with next suit and keep up vids appreciate them.
As a Canadian who knows a bit about crappy weather, my trip to the NC500 taught me it’s better to ride a smaller bike and wear better (Gortex & heated) clothes. Well worth it though; can’t wait to return and get wet, dry, cold, hot . . . all over again!
Great route. Shame about the wet stuff. Today (Good Friday l) was a beaut.. A q-noticed you using the mp3 on the garmin. Is that because it’s easier/more reliable to Bluetooth your helmet to the garmin than faff through the TFT? (I use helmet->TFT->iPhone but the phone needs to be ‘incredibly’ close to the TFT to work!). I find i have to re proof the Streetmaster suit once a season..otherwise the seams on the shoulders manage to leak like a sieve..
Well spotted John. I've tried it via the tft and phone set up but never really liked it. I find having a folder of songs in the Sat Nav and much easier way to listen to music. For the reproofing, I tried the Nikwax wash but water still finds a way in!
Real bikers ride in all weathers 👍, there is something about fighting the elements.Your not having much luck with your wet gear.Gortex is excellent.your gloves look like gortex ? sometimes with gloves the wet hands going into the gloves causes them to get wet from the inside.Your editing and cinematography are excellent.Grass looks very brown so rain was needed.Hello from Eire 👌.
I couldnt help noticing it seems you are using either kill switch or side stand to kill your engine. If i am right then i have been advised by bmw to whenever pissible kill tje bike by pressing the keyless ignition. Apparently thinks can go a miss in the ecu if you constantly use kill switch or sidestand

Todays rain, tomorrows whisky and the Anderson is a whisky tasters paradise Slainte. 🥃
Jinxed the weather with not starting off with a Murray's pie ! Great scenery cheers you two.
A bacon and black pudding roll was almost as good 😀👍🏍
Wet on the outside sunshine in the inner self.
Even in that weather our home country is Beautiful.
Great to see that area again, I works all over the East of Scotland many years ago, great place and fantastic people
Great video frazer. Im hoping to get back over there again soon from 1 wet country to another 1 ireland to Scotland.
Reminds me why I go to France for my hols.
Nice overnighter. Scotland is beautiful country. My favorites tho are when Wee Helen dances.
Nice one again Steve, thanks for sharing

Richa Gortex & Halvarssons 100% dry all day no matter what the weather throws at you. Don't use Gortex gloves with heated grips😊
Ok 👍👌
Just saw a Facebook post by you with glorious weather! Now it is wet. …….Seems your weather has trouble making up its mind. Great video, Fraser!
Treat yourself to some Gore-tex kit. No fun getting wet through. Great scenery. Enjoyed it.
That's the thing, it is Gore Tex gear!
In norway we have rainsuit , very useful in rain😂
Sounds gimmicky to me. It'll never catch on.

That streetguard wasn't cheap! Bit disappointing.

Mint 😎😢
I live in South Wales, and the weather is much the same, mate 😂 so never unexpected when we go to Scotland, which I love 😂😂
Rukka every time 👍
Love the production. But if your touring Rukka., Klim, Hideout are what you want for waterproof. With a guarantee. Ride safe.
That looks like every day I've ridden in Scotland LOL
🤣

Thanks very much. The suit's meant to be Goretex. BMW's finest 😞
@@travelsonmymotorbike gortex have a stand alone warranty.Return if possible.
So you didn't replace the Revit "waterproof" trousers from last year's Europe trip?
Had on the BMW streetguard suit... not a great advert for it 😞
Bad rain 👎 Good steak! 👍

That's something I've always done, bike's in gear so essentially the handbrakes on. Thanks for the advice though will look into it 😀👍🏍
@@travelsonmymotorbike i also always used kill switch or stand but apparently our gs models dont like that
Bring back the ignition key & carry the spare on the bike - foolproof! !
@@johncummins3860 i disagree keyless is nice
so i guess it was wet then
Was wet. 🤣
One suggestion- The music doesn’t suit the stunning roads, the rain and the complete adventure.
Something mellow , relaxing would have been nice.
There was NOTHING relaxing about that ride!
Please get a chin mount, apart from that lovely video mate ❤
Everyone uses chin mounts. I like the side view plus my helmet is a flip so wouldn’t work! 😀
Big thumps up...!!!
👍👍
