I think best way to go is make it using existing cover but "air lock" it so there are multiple layers they have to get past before they reach your base. Also double stack your walls so people can't boost over them. I prefer to hide barrels or tents in the forest though haha.
@@MichaelScheuenpflug but that would be boring as there would be no point on reinforcing it, I think the best option would be making it in a forest and hide crates around in the bushes, as they can find the base but won't be able to get all the loot.

I can make a low pop server lag 😂😂 Build a base inside a farm, and a fortress outside Befriend the raiders being a trader and only having low tier loot, good clothes and food

I would recommend building a base once you have proper weapons, and armor to defend yourself. Also making it in a good location is important. Making sure to have a gate is importsnt snd to also bury supplies in the ground so not all ur supplies are in your base. Most people will not feel like trying to raid a base if it is a lot of work

6:54 the factory building, people can still get in from jumping and climbing from the windows in the front right side of the entrance. For some reason the steel bars didn’t stop them from entering so make sure to barricade those windows.

I ran into way too many toxic people. Had a falling out with some guys I ran with, and instead of quitting the game because of toxic cry babys over PvP, a core mechanic of the game, I decided to go private and solo. Best damn decision I have ever made in that game. All the loot and base building freedom in the game, minus a majority of the stress.
I never ever build bases in dayz. Seeing this, now makes me want to never pvp and just build on the server i play on lol. Thanks for the video, it was awesome! Keep up the great work!

I like Dayz but i really wan't to beat the living shit out of the developers who designed this building system and how quickly tools "break". It's like they just forced themselves to be "unique" and different from all other games that have a much more user friendly and satisfying building experience and that's exactly what they succeeded with. Been playing game for 3 years and although I know how to build bases I experienced a glitch and while I was looking for a video to help the gate glitch I came upon this video. For new players or first time base builders this is the best base building video.
When base building empty all your inventory and have a hiking backpack when gather logs n planks , usually can carry 3 big logs in bags and one in hand to make the trips worth more.

In the server I’m in, the rule is that weekends are the only time you can raid, and during that point you can’t hide any loot. “It discourages the raiders” bruh I don’t care, that’s my stuff, not some sweaty freshie-killer’s stuff.
Me and my clan build huge bases on diffrent servers. I would suggest making a video with tricks to secure your base on servers that have build anywhere
I can't believe I spent so long Looking for the damn tools when I thought finding the wire and code locks were gonna be the hardest. Have yet to find a pick/shovel in the server I absolutely need it in but millions of them in the one server I care less about

I normally try to get a group of randoms together and setup a group base near a major industrial zone (easy spawns for planks, nails, metal plates, etc.) And give the people a purpose.

What you do is find a place that you feel comfortable and then go behind it into the woods and build your base in the woods then you put your weapons and stuff in a different area that's not in your base.

I play on console and the inventory management in the game is absolute AIDS you can definitely tell it was not made, nor ported over properly for the console. That being said i raided a base last night i killed off one hatchet and a bit of an axe took maybe 5-10 mins to chop through a gate with a lock on it. Just broke the bottom panel and crawled underneath... .. .. 2 KA-74's, 2 CZ 527,s ammo, clips so much shit i took one KA, and one CZ some clips and ammo and left the rest because i felt like a piece of shit and didn't want to end the game for the guy lmao... My suggestion is not to build inside buildings or around them. People stumble on things like that all the time and make you vulnerable to raiding. I suggest going deep into the forest, using personal land markers like a peculiar rock or tree or just a good sense of direction to make a descreet base that is not easily stumbled upon. But that’s just a personal preference.
Just hide crates in locations most players won't bother even looking. To be extra safe, place a few mines around. All bases to people willing to put in the work will eventually bring them there, be it a lucky accident. Also, Ammo is more important then weapons especially on Vanilla.
I found a base under construction, I could just walk in, so I exit the game and played on a different server for a while, came back in, the base walls was finished, some loot came in, so I kept stealing 1 and 2 items, as not all interested me each log in, boom, I was leaving, no one killed and no damage to the base, didn't meet anyone actually. I kept hearing gun shots in nearest City every time, but I lagged badly every time so I stayed out, then I walked into a house, stepped on a trip wire, boom and I lost everything, that is DayZ for you
Yeah they need to adjust this. It’s way too easy to raid compared to all the steps it takes to build. If you’re a solo player it could take you days to build a basic base just for any scrub with an axe to come break your wall down in 30 minutes while you’re offline
Built a camp in the woods and I saw two guy's running out of the woods holding a tent.. didn't put it together they stole my tent 🤣 I was surprised because it's a low traffic area. Hopefully they didn't find my new location 👀

Just spent 8 hours making a base went to bed and the next morning base was raided 10/10 will not build again.

Spent 10 hours getting loot and a vehicle, my vehicle flipped and someone shot me. Was the first person i saw in those 10 hours.

You could also use tape to repair your axe or hatchet

It's safer to have as few destructible walls as possible.
It also saves soooo much time.
