The cost of living seems to be increasing every year, making it harder to keep up.

In Vic the state government has recently imposed an additional land tax on rental properties including commercial and retail properties.
The tax has added tens of thousands to landlords who in turn pass the cost onto tenants.
The biggest white elephant in the room and for some reason there is no media pressure on the government to take responsibility for destroying businesses.

The garbage what you buy at the restaurants is a totally waste of money . When you go to restaurants overseas the food what you order is way better. And cheaper.

It's hard to understand how we got to this. That said, I've reduced my eating out. It's too expensive and I'm usually disappointed with the dishes I've ordered. Some restaurants are thriving at the moment. When there's a queue outside waiting for tables it's a very good sign that the price is right and the food is good.

Terribly SAD! ALL small businesses are suffering or forced to close. People are suffering DAILY, paying hugely inflated food prices and sky-rocketing mortgage payments. Housing and rental accommodation is in crisis situation, hundreds of people are getting homeless.
Any tips from government leaders for improvement?🤔

Interesting that businesses would ask for financial assistance. Didn't businesses receive low taxes from the previous government?
Wouldn't income for ordinary people be better as most people like eating in restaurants?

And on top of this, chefs cant live a 2hr transit away from work, its really hard as a chef to live so far from the Resto! Yet there is nowhere in Cremorne/Nuetral Bay and surrounds! To commute w more ease into the CBD and surrounds for work! Chefs work on long hour rosters 14hrs most days!
Yet cannot live close any longer! Yet the cashed up upper mid to upper class want the quality service/the amazing food from a qualified restaurant chef! Yet these same customers are the 1st to cry on review sites and are plain nasty when the service or food isnt better quality!
Well Karen's staff cant even get a unit for under 500pw on the outskirts of the city n surrounds! 🙄 Chefs should be on the "Essential Workers" housing, where by chefs too can get a subsidised unit in the center too! 😢chef de parties dont make over 80k per yr! Mostly around 70k. Its too hard!

Nothing to do with tax. Most restaurants are run by people who love making great food but have zero idea about business. Restaurants are the riskiest of all businesses to run and have the highest bankruptcy rates of any business. The vast majority will only last 18 months. Hire a manager and stay in the kitchen is the best advice.

Wages have not kept up with rampant inflation and the BCA wanted the minimum wage to rise by 2% making the lowest earning workers unable to afford even the basics let alone going to a cafe or restaurant. There goes your customers. Everything has been going up by 5 & 10% and wages will rise by 3.75%. If workers wages fail to keep up with inflation then you no longer have customers....
