    I hadn't thought to think of the Corpse Tree as a portal, but looking at it now it seems pretty blaring.

      If we are learning about Marika's origins, showing how she came from the "Land of the Numen" to the "Lands Between" could make sense, but unless it's tied to other factors (such as the Erdtree) I generally assumed it wouldn't be super important. Well, we'll find out soon!

      That's dark souls lore, baby. The feet are the key to all of this.

      @@SilverMont I'll try to explain a little more considering I've got your attention. My main reasoning comes from color coding. Both sleep effects and the shot in question use purple. Moreover the effect when sleeping has petals around one's head and the shot has this too. And considering sleep is heavily tied to saint trina and saint trina is basically Miquella, I'mthinking this double identity has something to do with his destiny
      Thank you for listening to my ted talk

    • @SilverMont
      @SilverMont  Месяц назад

      Yeah, the purple definitely made me think of sleep too - gravity first, haha.

    I suspect Mesmer might've been kept in the "shadows" for the same reason the Golden Order waged war on the Fire Giants, his flame being a threat to the tree. And perhaps it was Mesmer who started this unsung war, and is now banished into the shadows for that reason?
    I find it interesting that the duality of Radagon and Merika is easy to show in their children. Melania, a red haired god of physical power like Radagon. And Miquella, a golden haired god of influence like Merkia. But where does Mesmer fit into the frey?
    Is the duality of Miquella's form of St. Trina the "destiny" it speaks of? And was was St. Trina destined to do? To keep Mesmer under control? To lull Mesmer to sleep? Maybe this war was unspeakable because it was a war between immediate family, between Mesmer and Radagon/Merika or his siblings? Perhaps St. Trina's ability to control sleep was a to be a tool to subdue Mesmer without killing him, as direct conflict between the immediate family was forbidden. But perhaps Miquella refused this task, abandoning the roll of St. Trina and instead chooses to claim the power of this shadowed tree for him/herself? So many questions! I could be full of nonsense, but it's fun to think about.

      @SilverMont  Месяц назад

      Yeah, him being kept there so he can't burn the tree would make sense! Marika is a no lighters allowed kinda lady.

    Melina is Mesmer! Same as Marika is Radagon.

  • @Batman_83

    I don't think this is Marika in the trailer. The form is male

    • @SilverMont
      @SilverMont  Месяц назад +3

      Maybe it's proto-Marika. Marigon. Radika.
      But yeah there's no confirmation that it's Marika by any means, it's just that she's a good guess - Godwyn is another half naked blond who could work.

    • @Batman_83
      @Batman_83 Месяц назад

      @SilverMont My first assumption was Miquella, due to the trailer saying his name nearly at the same time they show he figure. He's got very long blonde hair. And the lack of breasts really makes me believe it's a male.
