@TheCharismaticVoice. Hey! You should check out Tornado of Souls by Megadeth. Literally probably the best song they made definitely the most universally underrated sadly. TORNADO OF SOULS, Hallowed By Thy Name, or Fade to Black are probably the greatest pure metal songs.
If you ever get the chance to see Halestorm in person, live is where Lzzy shines. She's unbelievable. Always kills it. I'm lucky to have seen Halestorm a lot before they "made it" in a bunch of small venues. Insanity.

The world just wasn't ready for that girl when she first hit the scene. So glad to see this band having a resurgence. Very well deserved. Thanks for showcasing her, Elizabeth!
@@ThatLongHairMetalGuy What you're talking about was all happening to you locally. They did hit in spots, where hard rock was still king. Nationally, they just didn't hit, though. Saw Halestorm (with The Pretty Reckless, The Warning, and Lilith Czar) last week in Boston. Absolutely incredible show from start to finish, and Halestorm absolutely killed it. Lzzy is a bona fide ROCK STAR - she gets up on that stage and she absolutely owns it. I've seen literally hundreds of shows and she really is in that upper echelon of the very best front-people in music.
See that show this Saturday in Charlotte. Been a big fan since seeing them at the first Carolina Rebellion back in '11 and try to catch them every time they come someplace near. Always a great show!
Lzzy is great! Also, you should check out a band she is currently touring with - *The Warning.* They are 3 sisters who are the nicest people you could ever meet (and I have). Their songs have deep lyrics and they are rooted in classic rock with grunge, punk, and other genres mixed in on some songs. Try 'Evolve', 'Disciple', 'Z', and 'Animosity' for some of their new stuff.
I'm with you, I'd love to hear Elizabeth react to The Warning. For some reason they haven't gotten much traction with the vocal coaches who do reactions, and I'd love to see that change.
I've got tickets for the closest show on his tour because I want to see The Warning, though I'm sure I'll enjoy he headliners as well. Pau's delivery on Survive in the TED-X show has huge power and puts me in mind of Nancy Sinatra on These Boots are Made for Walkin' only heavier. Anything off MAYDAY would serve to showcase Dany, though perhaps Choke would be the strongest bet. Maybe the live session recording.

So as you said in the end of your video, "Raise your horns" from this album is about mental awerness too and it's named after the movement Lzzy started. Such an emotional song! Lzzy did her best on this and the song is just her voice and piano, i strongly recommend you to make a video about it Elizabeth!
Lizzy Hale is one of the last true rock divas left. She NEVER disappoints and ALWAYS brings 110%! I've seen her twice in concert and I will always go see her whenever she is close. Her brother brings the fire too. 11/10 would recommend 💚💚💚
Lzzy is the best as a singer, performer and person. She should win the Effectful Award on this channel. I'd love to see more Halestorm on this channel. Also, Lzzy has the best teeth usage of any singer.
Love Halestorm. Saw them on their first tour date back in May, second time seeing her and she nailed it yet again. Such a powerhouse live. Our local newspaper's editor told me he believes she's one of the better/best rock vocalists of this generation/Era.

I love her. No other way to say it. Her voice, & how she can go so soft & warm with her voice chokes me up. And, when she goes raw...goosebumps. Just...💗
I completely agree- the mental health discussion is very important to have. And I’ve been so heartened to see it no longer swept under the rug or discounted. As well, I can say from my own personal experience that finding your strength and your way back from the depths is a massive deal.
@@TheCharismaticVoice It was, stormy. Storms in the area meant we got to see Lilith Czar, and then 2.5 songs from the Warning before they called it. Spent an hour in a parking deck, soaking wet.... Rescheduled for September 10th and can't wait!
I love Halestorm. I've been listening to them since the mid-2000s. She has one of the most powerful voices ever in Rock hard rock and heavy metal. Plus also let's not forget Halestorm is the only female fronted heavy metal hard Rock band to win a Grammy.
Good Lord I adore watching you geek out over Lzzy because SAME. I got to tell her in person that she empowers me and she told me it was one of the nicest things anyone has ever said to her.
Back around 2006… 2007… I had the fortunate opportunity to play with Halestorm in a small club in Bakersfield California… They were still recording their first album and came up to play a show and our band was the other band… Not only is she an incredible vocalist… But we got to hang with them a little bit and chat and she and her band are some of the nicest people you would ever meet… Absolutely no egos whatsoever… at the end of their set the vocalist of our band… also female got up and jammed out a couple of songs together… That was a fun night… They are a great band… What more can I say?
Halestorm also does an acoustic version of this same song with a completely different feel to it, slower and very delta bluesy, absolutely worth a listen
If you haven't already, you should definitely check out 'Here's To Us', which is one of my all-time favorite Halestorm song, with great, deep, melancholy lyrics and tone!
For the next rock track, AC/DC's live version of Let There Be Rock from Apollo Theatre in 1978 is something I can't recommend enough. The sound quality for a recording that is close to 45 years old is mind boggling. One of the best live performances by AC/DC, and dare I say any rock band. And Bon Scott is well worth a listen, truly a lost gem.
Definitely love to hear some AC/DC reviewed, especially Bon Scott, I’ve heard lots of reviews of Brian Johnson but never Bon Scott, he was the best there ever was or will be
Loved this reaction. Adore Halestorm and was overjoyed when they came back with a kickass piece of work. Favourite track is "Raise Your Horns" - absolutely broke my heart. Lzzy is capable of putting out so much power and texture, but can also pare it back pure and vulnerable - great versatility.
Love your analysis of vocalists. I have always loved music and your approach of analyzing singers /artists has added another dimension to my appreciation, so thank you for that. It is also really nice to hear someone who obviously has a great understanding of music and singing who has also developed an appreciation of Metal - it has been enjoyable to watch you discover Iron Maiden, Dio, Nightwish, Judas Priest, Pretty Reckless, Halestorm, Disturbed, and many more. I have so many groups/singers I would love to hear your analysis - every time I do, I learn something new :) Liv Kristine from Leaves Eyes (Elegy or Farewell Proud Men), Purified from Semblant with Mizuho Lin and Sergio Mazul, Dorothy with Dorothy Martin (Wicked Ones, Raise Hell, or Rest in Peace), In this Moment with Maria Brink (Whore or Sick Like Me). I have may more, but it is a start. Again, Thank you.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart. It's a gift to have discovered them and I would love to react to those wonderful artists. Please choose a song by them and place them in the comments on our next videos. Thanks again, Jack! 🤘
I watch this video right after the Joan Jett one. And I get kicked harshly: I has a feeling like the inspiration transfer from Joan to Lizzy and that hits you! Wow. Joan Jett opened the doors to Music business for the wifes of the world. And without her, there would probably be no Lizzy. And I felt that in the screaming singing of her in here. I WONDER what thus analysis would have been if you first had watched Joan Jett.....😮
Such a powerful song. After listening to the first seconds I knew this goes to my playlist! I will take this as a reminder, that the darkness I have fallen into can be passed through some day. Until then the TCV beacon from Tucson helps me in determining my position and not to lose direction. Thank you for that many hours of entertaining, informative, supportive and sometimes even relieving vocal analysis vids that spread tons of positive energy, Elizabeth! 🌈❤🙏
I always get serious Black Stone Cherry vibes when I hear Halestorm, yet another band I'd love to see a deep dive into. Not many people talk about them, but they are fantastic! Song recommendations would be 'Lonely Train', 'Hell and High Water', & 'Rain Wizard', the singles from their first album. Kind of ironic, really, given what's going on in Kentucky and that's where they are from.
Arguably one of their best albums to date, I would have pesonally used: Raise your horns (final song of album) to dissect but, great commentary none of the less as always.
I remember listening to it when it came out and having mixed emotions. Album gets 1000x better the more you listen to it. Definitely one of their better releases.
Check out The Warning! Lzzy seems to really believe that they could be the next big female led rock group, and after seeing them live, I can see why. I recommend their song Choke. As a new band, I think having you react to one of their songs would be great for them.
Holy guacamole! Just passed the Halestorm tour buses tonite in Syracuse NY! Then this was in my feed! Not familiar with the band…but her voice is amazing!
My favourite song of the album is "Terrible things". The lyrics hit so close I cried the first time I listened to it. This impression that some part of you would always be bad, despite all the good you try to do everyday or that you're out of tune with the world around you.
As someone with asthma, can definitely confirm that the audible breaths give you less air than the normal breaths - one of the first signs of asthma acting up is always the characteristic wheeze of air being forced through a constricted airway. The more that sound starts to dominate, the more dire need of your inhaler you are.
Long time Halestorm fan... saw them several times before getting signed. Last saw them July 2022, and luved that mid show Lzzy thanked her High School vocal coach for his teaching/insight. Great talent and so humble
Halestorm is one of my favorite bands, if not my favorite. I just wanted to thank you for breaking the song down in such a way- that those of us not familiar with music technicality can understand just how amazing it is. Also- thank you Elizabeth for your positivity. When I get depressed sometimes I watch your videos and your positivity and passion for what you do is amazing and help. Keep up the awesome work!
Lzzy is amazing, I've gotten to meet her a couple times at her shows, such a sweet person. And an incredible performer, her vocals are insane live. Seen them a half dozen times now and have tickets to see them again in a couple weeks 😀. Excited to see some of the new songs live cause the album is great. Really hope they play raise your horns cause holy crap her vocals on that are next level and live would be awesome
Love Halestorm. Have you considered doing a Blackbriar video? Beautiful Delirium or Until Eternity? If Nightwish are the answer to the question "what if Sarah Brightman was born later and joined a metal band" - Blackbriar answers the same question about Kate Bush.
Please don't take it wrong but i love how you are looking at the monitor like a kitten about to pounce. Even with the wiggle here and there. It communicates interest, attention and excitement. Love it.
I saw them on the first night of the tour in Detroit. Great concert but I was super bummed that The Pretty Reckless were sick and couldn't make it. Halestorm , The Warning and Lilith Czar were great though. I've now seen Halestorm three times. This is the first time as a headliner though. Previously they were opening for Alice Cooper and Rob Zombie.
Lzzy's vocals deserve every bit of the praise you've bestowed upon her for this performance, but let's not overlook the music which supports the fantastic delivery. AreJay's drumming is FANTASTIC in this tune, as he maintains a lethal driving beat interspersed with creative flourishes which often embellish upon previously established flourishes; and the guitar/bass rhythms sit nicely on top of that backbeat, adding embellishments of their own off of the primary cadences of the progression! The filter on Lzzy's voice often is called "telephone line", as it provides almost a single-speaker transistor radio, or a static-y signal associated with original telephone lines from over a century ago. It's (over)used fairly often in contemporary music, but really doesn't sound as though she's "under water". Your assigning of such a term likely is due to the power-of-suggestion, because she appears with her head/face under water during that segment. No such word as "heighth" (a mistake perpetuated by the uneducated), Ms. Elizabeth. It's just "height".
My favorite band. I would highly suggest checking out their songs Familiar Taste of Poison, Mz. Hyde, and I Am the Fire. Familiar Taste of Poison is a ballad on the first album with a fantastic music video. Mz. Hyde is my favorite song, Lzzy takes the song between bright and dark sounds from verses to chorus, it's a wonderful, double-sided song that plays on the theme. I Am the Fire comes from the third album where each song was more or less recorded a single take (meaning all parts at once, not recorded separately) each to give a more Live sound with high quality. This one really highlights her voice and immense range with ton of power behind her.
Just saw them Monday with Lilith Czar, The Warning, and The Pretty Reckless. Halestorm headlining. It was the first time in 3 times seeing them that they got to headline the show. Great concert, and about time seeing Halestorm as headliner. The Warning btw were impressive for being how young they are and just 3 of them to make all that noise!
Design your Universe (live Retrospect) / Unleashed (live Retrospect ), Cry for the Moon(live Retrospect) - Epica Nightwish - 7 Days to the wolves (live) / Weak Fantasy (live) I remember you - Skid Row (live) Soulbound - Unleash the Archers Take this Life - In Flames Burning Time (live) / Dracula - Iced Earth Reincarnate / Eternally Yours - Motionless In White Ategnatos / King - Eluveitie Rebel in the F.G.D. or The great Missconceptions of Me - W.A.S.P
I think you would enjoy group "Lordi", and their song "Hard Rock Hallelujah". The music video is amazing as well, I think it won an award or something back in the day.
Saw Halestorm last December in Minneapolis with Evanescence and Lilith Czar and it was so much what I needed after years of Covid crap limiting normal events. Lizzy is amazing, and frankly all of Halestorm, I have never seen a band that so clearly LOVES what they do, loves being on stage, loves interacting with the crowd as much as Halestorm. Seriously see them live! They will rock your socks off!
I love watching react videos but I always come back to Elizabeth because not does she break everything down well, I just get so much joy watching her feel how we feel.
Thank you for mentioning the suicide prevention hotlines. I suffer from quite severe depression, I feel suicidal almost all the time so I know how important such kind of support is - even though I don't like in the US.
Ah, the end of the day and my song from the new album! Drove home to this- anticipating exactly what I see here: Elizabeth's excitement to hearing this rocker! After a blazing hot day, I melt to sounds of Lzzy and the visual of Elizabeth's appreciation for her. Marvelous. Happy Tuesday all!
A wonderful appraisal of an incredible track - thanks!I'm a big Alice Cooper fan and only got into Halestorm during lockdown after watching an interview she did with Alice. I was lucky to see them 3 times on their UK tourt in March and they blew me away every night. I'd love to hear your analysis of the closing track from the album 'Raise Your Horns' which is just a Lzzy + piano ballad - such a contrast to the opening track but so powerful and emotional.
I've seen them play live twice and was blown away both times. I saw her takin pics with fans one time didn't have anything for her to sign so she signed outside of my upper arm. Awesome awesome singer and person through and through just like u said!!
Love Lizzy, her voice is one of the best in Rock. Another singer you should check out is Dorothy, she has toured with Halestorm in the past. She has a fairly recent song out in an unplugged version "Rest in Peace". It deals with a lot of the same themes this one did, and defeating and burying your demons and addictions.
Good morning to Elizabeth and everyone else! Halestorm been awhile! Can’t wait for your analysis Elizabeth! I love this song and the album’s great too!! Lizzie Hales voice is just sheer energy and emotional she gets what rock (hard rock - heavy metal) is really about!! 🎤🎧🎸👍🎼 Cheers, Mike 😎
I think you should listen to TheDooo's Ascend, even thoufh it's an instrumental, it would be sick to hear what you have to say about one of (in my opinion) the best musicians on youtube
You should really check out the series of acoustic videos Halestorm did in the studio, mainly The Silence because there is a section that is only her singing and it is beautiful.
So happy you reviewed this song! I love Lzzy, her personality, her voice, her message ♥ Saw your interview with Lzzy and it was so lovely ♥ I also love your videos, your reactions are always so helpful and make me understand more why I like the music I like ♥

I'd like to recommend Dance of the Manatee by Fair to Midland. Their songs have really interesting lyrics, and can be easily misheard in amusing ways, and the singer has a high range. All kinds of theories and interpretations on the lyrical meaning.
1. Otep, Nu-metal, Otep Shamaya screams as if she is a possessed, sings and raps. 2. Sunk Anansie, Alternative rock/metal, Skin sings clean, can hit the harsh vocals, raps and shared the stage with Pavarotti.

I by the way, AM a MUSICIAN.
I play Bass as well as do Vocals.
I play mainly Classic Rock and early Metal.
Take Hold of the Flame is one of the FINEST songs ever.
Lzzy seems to be a nice person and their new album is 10/10 my favourite track is Psycho Crazy.
I disagree... It's 20/10 😀
Psycho Crazy has no business going as hard as it does. It's a masterpiece.
@@MariaRockAngel Hahahhaa that's true
I love her. No other way to say it. Her voice, & how she can go so soft & warm with her voice chokes me up. And, when she goes raw...goosebumps. Just...💗
That classic rock n roll grit in her voice, with that amount of power! So good!!
I completely agree- the mental health discussion is very important to have. And I’ve been so heartened to see it no longer swept under the rug or discounted. As well, I can say from my own personal experience that finding your strength and your way back from the depths is a massive deal.
Seeing them live Saturday with the Pretty Reckless, Lilith Czar and The Warning. Closest to heaven I'll ever see.
Lucky bastard! Enjoy the show
How did it go? I bet it was heaven. 😉❤
I didn't know this. Searching now. You rock
YEEEEESSSSSSS IVE BEEN WAITING FOR THISSSSS
If you haven't already, you should definitely check out 'Here's To Us', which is one of my all-time favorite Halestorm song, with great, deep, melancholy lyrics and tone!
I would really love to see your reaction to Dear Daughter by Halestorm. I feel like you would absolutely love it and the message attached to it.
Definitely love to hear some AC/DC reviewed, especially Bon Scott, I’ve heard lots of reviews of Brian Johnson but never Bon Scott, he was the best there ever was or will be
I told her the same about Bon Scott 74 jailbreak
You mean close to 45 years?
@@braca977 Yeah 45, typo
Gone shootin’ on Powerage is my favourite Bon Scott song
Loved this reaction. Adore Halestorm and was overjoyed when they came back with a kickass piece of work. Favourite track is "Raise Your Horns" - absolutely broke my heart. Lzzy is capable of putting out so much power and texture, but can also pare it back pure and vulnerable - great versatility.
React to the Warning!
They are the next big female-fronted band.
I saw them open for Halestorm and the Pretty Reckless and they blew me away.
Dorothy! 100% Found Dorothy because of Lzzy!
Thank you from the bottom of my heart. It's a gift to have discovered them and I would love to react to those wonderful artists. Please choose a song by them and place them in the comments on our next videos. Thanks again, Jack! 🤘
Heard that opening line and immediately went and added this to the workout playlist. Love me some good'ol Hard Rock! \m/
I second Black Stone Cherry. Just a fun solid rock band. Soulcreek is my jam

This impression that some part of you would always be bad, despite all the good you try to do everyday or that you're out of tune with the world around you.
you really should react to nirvanas drain you live ! it's a rare sight to see kurt without a guitar, very good video
One of the best reactions to one of my very favorite bands. Thank you!
Hello Elizabeth! I know little English, but I watch your videos because I sincerely enjoy your beauty. Thank you very much)
As someone with asthma, can definitely confirm that the audible breaths give you less air than the normal breaths - one of the first signs of asthma acting up is always the characteristic wheeze of air being forced through a constricted airway. The more that sound starts to dominate, the more dire need of your inhaler you are.
Yep!
Lizzy is one of the most amazing female voices out there and one hell of good guitar player as well. The band compliments each other. Love it!
Love it.
That's my girl...Lzzy is the shit!
Reigning Queen Of Rock!
Still on FIRE!
YES!
Love Lizzy so powerful!! Have you listened to Dorothy, Rest in peace is a great song!!
Halestorm raise your horns!! I just saw them live with the pretty reckless!! They were both amazing!!
Design your Universe (live Retrospect) / Unleashed (live Retrospect ), Cry for the Moon(live Retrospect) - Epica

I remember you - Skid Row (live)
Soulbound - Unleash the Archers
Take this Life - In Flames
Burning Time (live) / Dracula - Iced Earth
Reincarnate / Eternally Yours - Motionless In White
Ategnatos / King - Eluveitie
Rebel in the F.G.D. or The great Missconceptions of Me - W.A.S.P
I think you would enjoy group "Lordi", and their song "Hard Rock Hallelujah". The music video is amazing as well, I think it won an award or something back in the day.
Seeing Halestorm Live is the most amazing experience of my live
Mark Tremonti - My Way (Frank Sinatra cover)
Please do this one. It’s such an emotional experience.
Seen Halestorm twice. Always, an awesome performance by Lizzy. Love it that Arejay keeps his kit simple but bangs the crap out of it. Too fun.
I to appreciate it, but I was quite taken aback by how *sudden* and out of the blue it was. It was just right there, out of left field. Lol.
I love your videos. I’ve found so many great artists because of you. Halestorm reminds of sound garden. Can’t wait to listen to more.
I was in the middle of house chores when I saw this notification and put down everything to watch this! You get giddy over Lzzy like I do! Love it!
Saw them live at Welcome to Rockville in May. She is awesome!! The band is awesome as well.
Cheers,
Mike 😎
I want her to check out this video of Davide D. going thru a warm up before a concert PLEAASE???????????????? Disturbed on Tour: David Warms Up
Like and comment so she will!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I think you should listen to TheDooo's Ascend, even thoufh it's an instrumental, it would be sick to hear what you have to say about one of (in my opinion) the best musicians on youtube
You should really check out the series of acoustic videos Halestorm did in the studio, mainly The Silence because there is a section that is only her singing and it is beautiful.
it's an amazing version!! I just listened to it a little bit ago (again)
So happy you reviewed this song! I love Lzzy, her personality, her voice, her message ♥ Saw your interview with Lzzy and it was so lovely ♥ I also love your videos, your reactions are always so helpful and make me understand more why I like the music I like ♥
Halestorm is coming to Tucson October 6th
Yup. You best believe Lzzy and I will be getting together!
@@TheCharismaticVoice A thought for you, you've been looking at Anne Wilson/Heart, as well as Lzzy/Halestorm...so look at All I Wanna Do is Make Love to You, and Lzzy's cover of same, for comparison.
@@TheCharismaticVoice Make sure you get there early enough to watch the 3 sisters who are supporting them on the tour - The Warning... You will love them!!!
@@Strongdad Yes, absolutely! Lzzy said that Dany inspires her daily. That's partly why they invited them for the tour, young talent that inspires them every time, the other part is being badass rockers and lovely people, and Lzzy keeping the promise she made to them in DeTour livestream chat⚡
Please, hear Boris Christoff singing ,, The Death of Boris Godunov"!🙏
The way she's creating tension by holding those notes flat before sliding into the resolution. I love it.😃
After seeing Halestorm at least a dozen times, they're for sure my favorite band live... Lzzy is just unbeatable with energy and raw talent (although Arejay gives her a run for her money). Side note, as a father now "Dear Daughter" still makes me eyes leak profusely for some reason...
Amazing episode!!
There is so much that is special and real with Lizzy. Just saw Halestorm in Boston and it was amazing . So many new songs. Just amazing watching it live. Your analysis is always special
Great voice and great video as always💯💯 you must check out the Folk Metal band Celtian, it also has a female voice, her voice is astonishing🤘💪
Totally unrelated to this song, but pls react to "Enigma - Return to innocence". It has a really cool tribal chant in it and you would absolutely love it!!
Pretty good song yes 👍
You need to react to Orville Peck - Let me drown (live in Nashville). Amazing singing.
Even for songs or bands I wouldn't normally seek on my own, I love hearing these discussions to broaden my knowledge and hearing more great songs and music. Thank you!
Woo, I'm so excited.
Your analysis was very effectful... err... Effective!!! 3 times Ugh! Thank you for introducing me to another AWESOME artist I hadn't heard before... WOW!!! This is a killer song too!
Their new album is fantastic! This song in particular means so much to me. Thank you for your analysis and reaction!
Have you ever heard Guernica Mancini sing? She is Thundermother's lead singer. Thank you for all the vídeos.
Recommend reacting to NEMOPHILA / DISSENSION. They've been gaining steam in the US, and some reaction videos have been popping up here and there, but I'd love to see your take on this talented 5-woman metal band.
I would love to see a reaction video of Changes Are Coming by Daughtry. It is a very upbeat and positive song that shows some gritty distortion and head banging fun. I would recommend finding a professionally recorded live video, to truly see Chris Daughtry's vocal talents but the official video is also very good.
I love this band so damn much!
