I was watching coach Brian's video about side control escape against 255lbs person and as soon as I see the notification I clicked it fast and liked it
The reason I love training Judo for self defense with Traditional Japanese Ju Jitsu, you three or different counter throws from there. If you get his arm up just little bit step back with your left leg and throw with Tia Toshi, Ippon Seonage, when you stepped in to the other side you can throw with Kouchi Garior Uchi Gari
I love how you make everything look so simple, I know it is easy if you train so its obvious why you make it look simple.... Anyway, you are AWESOME brother!!!
Thanks. Very instructive. Helio Gracie taught self defense too, probably with different techniques. Since "art" has evolved for several decades, it could be interesting you compare your self defense answers with his answers, and why your answers can be different (with all respect to master Helio).
Watch fight with Carlos ronin newton v pat mileticth school yard front headlock awesome submission ....Carlos saw chance and squeezed for his life poor pat had to tap he didn't know a way out that was in olden days lol
Nice video, if you could do one on how to escape or prevent being thrown frown a front bear hug, especially by someone stronger that would be awesome 👍
Yeah. I don't think it works if you don't already have a wrist lock applied BEFORE hyper extending the elbow. You're also counter torquing the wrist and elbow if I remember correctly. So no if you do it the way he did IT WON'T work lol. Small joint manipulation, wrist and finger locks, are banned or never used in UFC so people assume it wont work. That's literally how they think. Most of them don't realize how much stuff is banned or watered down in UFC. Like the banned 12-6 elbow, which can deter a lot of wrestling. I've learned that SOME of the MMA guys have become as dogmatic as the traditionalists they hate. Not baggin on the coach here but it's typical of the mentality today. It's sad and rather ironic actually, considering why MMA was created in the first place.
@@navigatingel6104 I think what @TeachMeGrappling Coach Brian meant was using small joint manipulation/wrist locks are very hard to pull off in a stressful situation, with your adrenaline pumping, you will most likely lose small or finer motor skills, so better to depend on stuff not requiring those kinds of skills.
One rule for street fighting, don't wear Flip flops/Slides. If you have to run you'll end up coming out of them. You're in an active fight? You'll come out of them, you might step on a rock or glass. Plus your Toes are exposed to all kind of dangers. Those who are into survival and being prepared, etc, know exactly what I'm talking about.
I've recently saw a group of pupils waiting for the bus after school... As as one bus arives, one of the bigger, older pupils was messing with one of the smaller ones and tried to push him into the wrong bus ... Luckily he failed, because the smaller kid put up as much as resistence as he could... But I wonder if this would've worked if the smaller kid was a wrestler. A sixth-grader whooping up on a ninth-grader, what a picture that would be, LOL.
You’re right and if you attempt to grab a wrist lock correctly in this situation with anyone tough, you will very likely fail miserably. The martial arts evolve. It’s a good thing. 🤙
When I'm grabbed bear hug with arms trapped from behind I quickly wrap my leg around there leg so they can't pick me up any higher, so your attacker doesn't slam you on your head. When your arms trapped and both legs off the ground. Your basically screwed. Only thing is to try to keep the attacker from picking you up any higher. Works well even when the attacker is bigger and stronger than you. Some of These traditional martial arts techniques don't work, like kick to the shin or punch to groin, they will just slam you on your head even harder. Whats your guys thoughts/suggestions on this situation???
Anyone doubting the leg wrap around as what Ben01Duke is describing. Trust me it works! I did it before when I was younger, I had no martial arts training at the time. I was over the arms bear hugged by a dude named Thomas. I wrapped my right leg around his right leg, it prevented him from picking me up and slamming me. You have to be quick! It must be done right away or as soon as you feel yourself being lifted. You fail to react fast, you might end up up on your ass or your head.
Probably pretty good but one of the adds cut off the whole video for me - the add cut in and neither the add or the video would play! After trying twice with the same results I gave up on watching the video!
5:54 I put my moms 39 year old boyfriend in this when I was 14. I didnt know anything but it worked just fine lol. Not bragging just watch out for teenagers
man...you always tell whoever's helping you to take their position and then you start talking about something else so they have to wait for you with their arms wrapped around you or your crotch straddled across their neck…lol i'm starting to think you are trolling
Traditional not going to work? First off your palm elbow demo of dissing traditional was weak and not even done right.Second all you have to do is reach back and grab the nuts and twist .....yes taught in traditional and much easier. You are working way to hard.

Thats a nice wall
Best instructional wrestling channel on RUclips, translates to the jitz well
Video only dropped 12 min ago and there's over 30 likes already. I usually press like before even watching as Coach Brian's vids are always top notch.

Super. Waiting for 2 arms trapped and 2 arms free. I really liked it.
"that's bullshit"
LOL!!!!!
omg this is such a fun video and very welcome too, thanks for the coaching :)
I learned this from your old vid wrestling cut for bear hug escape, underarms, not over arms or arms pinned.
Golden Coach! As always, golden...thanks for all you do for us!!!
Glad you guys are doing more of these self defense videos. Idiots tackle people or slam people on concrete all the time, super necessary to learn
Legend has it, he 1v4 with those sandals
Loving self defense wrestling
Protect da neck
Brillant, thanks. Is wearing tong shoes important for this move ?
Good street pummeling. Not mad at it.

Classic streets.

Anyway, you are AWESOME brother!!!
I would love to have seen an Ippon Seoi Nage to complete the throw setup at 3:20.
On streets we don't call it wrestling, we call it "street fighting self-defense". Coz it sounds longer.
Thanks for your teaching! You two work well together!))))))))
Nice video
Recently coach been saying "we'll be back more... "

But I like your real life scenarios keep it up

Good
1:53 Coach please explain why attacking the elbow is fake. I submit with that a lot.

love this type of lesson
Why not strike him using elbows with your free arm? Thanks for the detailed info.

I swear that first 10 seconds looked like it came out of an Adam Sandler movie lol

1:53 Coach you didn't have the wrist lock applied right to do the elbow hyperextention. No it WON'T work like that. Peace

Takedowns in slippahs?? Gangta

What if someone grabs you in a rear bear hug with both arms trapped or without the arms trapped?
We will cover that in the next video on self defense!

Coach Brian kidnap Maddox and have him film for y'all. Kids talented. I'm just kidding don't do that, you're no match for the Leg Mohsel
1:51 This only works if they're not allowed to resist...so aikido or a police officer haha
