I love these tips! My kids love the library and the splash pad already. But I love the other ideas! We will definitely try these, we have two more months before school starts back!
I love these ideas, Jennifer! I find it fairly easy to find free activities in the summer, with splash pads and parks all over! Winter is not so easy! 😊 love all the clips of your cute kiddos in this!
I love today's video. I would have never thought about washing the car...it's so HOT already here in Arizona that playing in the water while doing a chore..my kids would jump right on that. Thanks for the idea's!! Your awesome.
Your ideas are fantastic, I love them!Another free summer fun idea is to check with your school. The school my children go to have free 3 day summer camps that are set up by grade. My daughter signed up to do rocket camp and my son signed up for zoom camp.
3:07 nature walks are a must! we just have to pay £3.50 for parking, which goes towards the park and helps them maintain our beautiful parks! We have some beautiful nature parks in the UK.
My kids absolutely love going nature walks and doing a scavenger hunt. They also love going out in the rain and going puddle jumping as the weather here can be a bit hit or miss :)
I keep a 3 drawer plastic bin on wheels in my house for craft supplies. It has many things my son would need for a school project. I often purchase random items like goggle eyes and glitter when I am in dollar tree or other stores in the reduced or sale sections. I even buy extra crayon and construction paper etc. when buying school supplies at the beginning of the year. With all of this said, we have arts-n-crafts day. After many pictures and projects have been gathered or should I say pictures of them are saved in my phone. I transfer them to a flash drive and have them turned into a fun hardcover coffee table book. Teachers always want to know what they did over the summer. Sense I am not much of a scrap booker, this is a great alternative.
You are giving your children a great gift. It will serve them well all their lives. When you know how to be content you never need anything. When you learn the satisfaction of a job well done you learn that honest work is good. When you know how to find joy with each other you are never lonely. Mother dear, you really are to be commended. Another free activity? Teach you little ones the Bible. Let them learn about David, Moses, Ruth, Sarah. You can google “ Imitate Their Faith “, a book that has short chapters giving the life stories of all the Bible characters. “ I asked God for all things that I might enjoy life. I was given life that I might enjoy all thins “
Great ideas! I wish we could camp in our backyard but we have bears in the summer. Yes, including in our yard. 😬🐻 Love the idea about kids washing the car. Totally doing that this summer!
My son is an only child so it’s hard for him to do somethings because he gets bored doing them by himself. I can only play in a fort for so long lol. Washing the car at home, living in Southern California in the middle of a drought is def out so we have to go to a car wash that uses recycled water. We do have a built in pool so we spend a lot of time in that. My sons school has a summer program called SEE (Summer Enrichment Experience) so he is going to that 2 Xs a week. One of the free things that our city offers (don’t know if they do it up north or not) is the free summer meal program...they have school lunches at the park during the summer so parents take their kids to eat then play in the park. We also have the summer reading program at the library and twice a week, during the summer reading program, the library has something going on in the auditorium....they have had a balloon artist, magician, someone who comes in and plays different instruments, dance groups, etc. they also have a family movie night and free summer concerts in the park that the city puts on. Our local pools also have a movie night where they put up screens and show a movie while you swim. Our local mall also has a kids club and they have summer activities for the kids who belong (its $5.00 for the year to join the kids club) we also live by the Bass Pro Shop which offers summer activities for the kids. 2 of my fav activities at home to do are bubbles....we set up my sons water table, put bubble solution in it and get out anything that we can use to make bubbles. The other fav of his is the shaving cream slip and slide...again living in so Cali with the water shortage, we can’t use water on the slip and slide so we go get shaving cream from the dollar tree or the 99 cent store and he has a jolly time slipping on the shaving cream on his slip and slide. The last thing I will mention is...his school has a mandatory reading and math program they have to do during the summer for 40 minutes a day (20 mind of math, 20 mins of reading) we also go to the local splash pads...so that’s pretty much our cheap/free summer activities in our area :) think I will try backyard camping this year :)
+Wendy Valencia I thought the SAME thing until I found Kimmy at She's in Her Apron did a very similar video last year! 😄😉 Oh well, I suppose there's a lot of sharing the same ideas on RUclips...so you just put your spin on it 😁
There are several cultural festivals which give him an opportunity to learn about different cultures. These are at a minimal cost but can get pricey if you purchase food and souvenirs so, a plan and budget are highly recommended. To find out about these events check the visitors bureau website in your state and county websites as well.
We have many libraries in our community to choose from. Some have free movie day. the kids are allowed to eat popcorn. We have been to magic shows there and small kids orchestra performances. I just look on line to see the schedule of events. Just recently on a Saturday we went to a science event and he took a free class on robotics and flying drones at the community center.
Great ideas! If you're anywhere near a Lakeshore Learning Store, they have weekly art projects for kids on Saturdays that are free. Often the local library branches will have storytimes and other activities for various age groups. If you're anywhere near Fairfield, CA, the Jelly Belly Factory does free tours, too. :o) Have a great summer!
Cinemark has a summer movie clubhouse, where they show older movies that are just $1 a kid! Search it up to see if there's one in your area. There is always a schedule!
we like to go to the dollar tree and find $1.00 movies then get snacks there for our Wonka movie night and watch Willy Wonka and the chocolate factory. as the movie plays I give them some of the items as they show. it is so much fun. for only $4.00 it's cheep and fun for all.
the movies have gotten so expensive, we actually have 2 drive-ins here where we live about 20 minutes or so away so we like to go to those in the summer sometimes too because it's way cheaper than the theater and we can bring our own food in. they are not picky about that either
You and I live in the same ish area of the "Bay Area" Have you signed up for kids bowl free or the dollar movies or kids skate free at the roller rink?
hi i so love these ideas but i'm still a kid my name is ivy christine atually where did you live #for the family fudge i'm live at sabah malaysia i'm using my mum phone

Great tips! Some movie theaters have free movies over the summer too. We love to do that especially on a day that's really too hot to be outside.

Great ideas! I wish we could camp in our backyard but we have bears in the summer. Yes, including in our yard. 😬🐻 Love the idea about kids washing the car. Totally doing that this summer!
Homemade ice cream sundae bar beats taking them for ice cream. Most movie theaters run $1-$2 movies for kids. Plus here bowling is free for kids
+Lieu Hazelwood sounds great
Love your videos! My first just turned one! ❤️🦄🍄
If you are a AAA or Bank of America member you can often get discounted and free admission to places like zoos and museums I think.

You can buy a blow up pool, baby blow up pools are on the cheap side but the ones for your older kids are 20 to 30 dollars
