Unfortunately, Mr. Dickens is unwittingly performing as the plagiarist of "A Christmas Carol," not as its original author. Or, he is if my research conclusions are correct, that the "Carol" was originally co-authored by Americans Mathew Franklin Whittier and Abby Poyen Whittier, being hurriedly commercialized (and secularized) by Charles Dickens within six weeks to avoid impending debt.
