    Loved this video - calendar view is really useful and I didn't know about this control. I work with model driven apps so would definitely like to see more contents for these. Thanks.

    Create stuff. Didn't realise this feature was hidden in the Classic experience and really cool how you use a simple table and its object to build this calendar view. Thanks for sharing

    Holy smokes what a cool livestream. Thank you, I was probably joining the riot over at X when this was live but going to use this solution for sure.

    Yes please more model driven videos. It's difficult to work with given it's hidden features and inflexibility.
    Also I have a quick question, if we had timezone data would the calendar pull that in as an option similar to the schedule board?

    Would love to see some videos on JS web resources for model driven apps. While a bit more of a learning curve than FX, I have found the client side JS APIs very useful for taking my model driven app user experience / business logic to the next level.

    • @ShanesCows
      @ShanesCows  2 года назад +1

      Juan and I teach some of that in the Model-driven class but would be cool to get a video on it also. That stuff is just so "yucky" feeling when you work with it.

      @@ShanesCows agreed. JS is a Necessary evil for now. Especially because I don’t have the luxury of using flows, custom pages or even the old school CRM automation actions due to my MDA solution primarily being used offline. Hopefully offline support for custom pages / DV fx calculated fields will come sooner rather than later. I was bummed when I found out the offline supported custom pages enhancement was delayed to next year.

    This feature is now available in the modern UI
    Form editor > component > display > calendar

    Awesome tutorial. Is there a solution - to when the calendar entries are clicked - it will take the user to a predefined screen? For instance - I have a reservation on the calendar, click that reservation and it takes me to that specific reservation page with all the details.

    For this calendar, how could I show the number of entries found per day instead of listing the entry details that were found?

    Quick question, can you add this calendar to a SharePoint site webpart to make it as EVENTS for a Microsoft 365 Group ? Sorry I’m new to solutions

    Hey, thanks for the video. I can't figure out how to make the same view display as a calendar in a subgrid. It shows up as a regular table view when a subgrid, but a calendar when it's it's own page in the app. Any advice?

    • @ktegeler1

      I can insert a calendar using the display component option, but it's not filtering out unrelated records.

    Great video as always. One question. I noticed once I made this change all the views for my table to Calander view. Is there a way to use the Calander view only for some and keep the list view for rest. Like SharePoint?

    Hi Shane, I've built a model driven app and embedded a canvas app to do this in the past (actually used your video on how to build calendar!!), but this is a much better fit within a model driven app... my question would be, do you know how I can combine the exchange data and present this back into the app? Its very easy with a canvas driven app to do this because of the outlook connector, but I don't know where that data sits to be able to call it in a model driven app? A video on that would be awesome... ;)

    • @ShanesCows
      @ShanesCows  2 года назад

      Nicholas I don't think you can pull in the Outlook data like that. 🫤

    • @nicholaschurch8860
      @nicholaschurch8860 2 года назад

      @@ShanesCows Ah - thats a shame, would be really nice to integrate outlook into the calendar Jaun showed!!
      Having said that - embeding a canvas app with the calendar linked to the users mail box has worked reasonably well for me - thanks so much for doing the calendar video (can't remember when, but it was super helpful), I ripped that off and then injected the outlook connector into it :)

    Shane, do you know if there is possibilty to have weekly view by items not by hours? Let say, particular trainer has only one (2 max) event per day. Weekly view should have list of all Trainers and on the calendar view those events in each trainer row. Is there a simple way to use calendar view or we have to "develop" our own table / grid view adapted to look like weekly calendar.
    And last word. Some parts of the world are prefering to watch your videos offline, not live. Sorry for not joining online.
