- [Update] I've noticed that there have been a few comments on the lack of same sex couples in this video, I just want to clarify that I am NOT against homosexual people or same sex marriage. The purpose of this video was purely an update on the couples that I covered in the original couples video that I had done about two years ago. I am all for same sex marriage and equal rights for homosexuals as well as being 100% open for the inclusion of a homosexual character in the Sonic series. Just wanted to clarify as I am getting the impression that some people are thinking that I am against the idea of same sex Sonic couples when I am not at all. Sorry for any confusion that was caused.
A somewhat updated video on the Sonic couples that I talked about years ago in probably my shittiest video to date. Not a lot of detail in here but hope you all enjoy none the less.

For your comment about the TailsxCream shipping, I'm gonna throw a wild guess out here and say that you haven't seen the movie Zootopia yet, have you? Cuz, if you have, you might see why some people don't care for the whole "prey-and-predator-in-love" thing.
That isn't really the main issue here. The issue is that Tails and Cream have no chemistry together. They're only shipped because they're both kids, that's it.

Granted, they may not interact much, but they do consider each other to be good friends and do hang out some times. lmao I made a comment a while back stating how much I agree with SPD about liking Sonally. I grew up with Sally, I've watched the Satam cartoons that would come on and read the Archie comics that have so much depth of each character so you can see why I would love Sally. Now my comment isn't even here anymore lol. The Sonic fanbase is so freaking garbage it's pretty damn sad. No one can share opinions anymore because you got little snot nosed brats throwing tantrums if you don't like the same shippings as they do. *Just look at these comments* it's so pathetic and I feel sorry for SPD having to deal with people whining at her about her preferences. Such a disgusting fanbase.
I'm a massive Sonaze shipper, it's one of my favorite ships, due to a lot of evidence from the Sonic Rush games that definitely pointed to it. Like, for instance, the fact that (and I maybe missaying it, because I haven't played these games in like forever) the Sol Emeralds and the Chaos Emeralds are opposites, yet work perfectly in tandem, as stated by Tails (there's more, I've forgotten exactly what it was though). Then, of course, she seems very close to him once you get to Sonic Rush Adventures and even in Sonic Rush, they hold hands for dear life to not be seperated from one another at the end, when they are to go to their respective universes like they really wanted to spend more time with each other. I'd have to replay the games to get everything else again, but that's a couple of things that I saw there that just screamed, "HEY!! These two are basically perfect for each other!!"

Sonic x Sally (Because they've always been a couple since Sonic SatAM, aside from the fact that Amy is always chasing him around which is not a boyfriend and girlfriend thing to do.)

Knuckles x Julie-Su (Because Julie-Su's the only one that truly cares about him)
Shadow x Rouge (Because number one, Rouge is the only woman that can tame Shadow, and Rouge is the friend that sticks by his side. That's what he needed. And secondly, the fact that Shadow is willing to risk everything to rescue Rouge shows not only that his heart still works, and there's also a place for Rouge inside of it.)
And finally, Silver x Blaze (Because they've been together for a long time since Sonic 06, and she's like an older sister figure to him before becoming his girlfriend.)

I am fine with kid couples if it's a more puppy crush thing. I fail to understand why people want characters like Tails and Cosmo to kiss so badly. And shipping a character who's a kid with someone much older than them. It's outright gross to me and it's a shame how aggressive some fans can be with wanting these things.

As a shadamy shipper, yeah I can see why people question it lol. At first I only liked it Bc the color scheme match (I was a really little kid ok) but now I feel like Amy can help shadow be more open minded I guess? I mean in the Archie universe Amy convinced shadow to save blaze’s dimension and talks to hi in a fond way in the games (with the very little interactions they have) there’s plenty of other reasons but that’s just a few. Wait, hold up, how would Tikal be Knuckles ancestor. Tikal seals herself in the master emerald along with chaos, and presumably she's about the same age as Knuckles, 16. I'm not against shipping in of itself, and I've shipped a few couples. But some people seem to like romance for the sake of romance, not because the relationship is interesting or because the characters have natural chemistry. It's nice to hear an assessment of the pairings that's thoughtful, and not just "AHH, THEY'RE SO CUTE TOGETHER!!"
I don't oppose SonicXAmy, but I don't find them interesting. Sure, it's clear why Amy is into Sonic, but regarding Sonic, what would their relationship be based on? What does Sonic get out of it?
SonicXSally has always been my OTP when it comes to the series. They have a long history together, and I think they balance each other out well. Unlike Amy, I can see how Sally would support Sonic.
Sonic and Rouge don't interact much, but I admit that I find the idea of the pairing entertaining, because it'd be funny to see how Sonic would deal with Rouge's sensual flirting compared to Amy throwing herself at him. Also, Sonic is an American style hero, brash, cocky, always looking for a good time. I could see him being into busty chicks.
I don't ship them, but I admit that I think it would be cute if Tails had a crush on Amy.
I don't have a problem with Knuckles and Rouge, although I admit it's hard to see how the relationship would work out. Rouge strikes me as someone who would be afraid of a serious commitment, and Knuckles often isn't good with people, so a relationship would be a challenge for him. But I'm sure the fanfic writers leap at the chance to untangle the kinks in their relationship.
I always liked KnucklesXJulieSu. But then, I've always liked Julie-Su. She's got moxie.
I think ShadowXRouge go well together. Rouge is probably the person Shadow's closest with, and they probably spend most of their time together, so it wouldn't surprise me if they started something.
The only problem I have with SilverXBlaze is that it just seems too obvious. Aside from Amy, Blaze is the only female Silver interacts with, so of course people are going to ship them.

tbh I don't ship Silvaze at all. Think about it; the events of Sonic 06 never happened so Silver and Blaze never met canonically until the next game (I forgot the name of it whoops) so they're not even as close. Not to mention, in the Sonic Wikipedia, on Silver's page, he considers Blaze his best friend, but on Blaze's page, it says Cream is her best friend and that Silver and Blaze have a brother/sister relationship, which is how I potray them.
I could totally see them as friends though, just not a couple.
I think the way couples work varies by series. Each series having it's set of couples that would work well and not as much.
That being said Sonamy only works in Sonic X where as the games Sonic and Blaze work much better since they can both work on equal footing. In the SatAM series Sonic and Sally work fairly well, and in the Archie Sonic series I still hold that same view. Tails I consider to be too young for a relationship in any of the series so that wouldn't work well at all. Silver and Blaze would work fairly well in the Archie Sonic series but not so well in the games despite them working together like once or twice.
I agree that silver and Amy will never happen, mainly because of the speculation that Amy is silvers ancestor/mother.

Amy has become more mature, hardly ever going “FANGIRL” over Sonic (even if she obviously still likes him.) And Sonic has grown a soft spot for her.
In one Forces tie-in comic he asked Amy if she wanted to join him on his adventure full-time. No Tails, No Knuckles, just them, but Amy turned it down because she knew she had responsibilities at the resistance base.
Personally I’d love to see that kind of thing expanded upon in the games (as a subplot of course. I don’t want the series to be some fury soap opera.) But this is just my opinion, feel free to disagree. :D
