  • Hello everyone, in today's video I am taking you along with me inside one of the best tropical fruit markets in the world - La Galeria Alameda de Cali, Colombia.
    This fruit market is known worldwide for its delicious tropical fruits as its host's many vendors from all parts of Colombia.
    On my trip today I saw many tropical fruits that I loved such as Atemoya, Mangosteen, Mango, Soursop, Sugar apple, Chupa Chupa & more.
    During my trip here I spent about 20$ USD and was able to buy so many fruits such as atemoya and mangosteen.
    Some interesting fruits that I am looking forward to trying within the next few days are my large atemoyas which weighed about 2lbs each, I also am excited about the 'seedless' atemoyas which the vendor claimed have such a low seed count they're basically seedless.
    I know there are many exotic tropical fruit markets all around this earth, but this is definitely one of the better ones you can go to with so much QUALITY as well as QUANTITY.

    MMM, mangosteen once you taste one you can not stop eating them! Reminds me of Pattaya Beach Thailand where there is a lot tropical fruit grown and for sale. You should have found out where a Mangosteen "Finca" was in the area and pay them a visit like I did in Thailand and take some pictures.

      I need to find out where the mangosteen farm is in Colombia. Thanks for the suggestion Billy - I would love to visit Thailand as well.

    An array of tropical fruits in the Columbia market! You should have slowed down a bit when taking the video while showing the fruits. Mangosteens is one of my favorite!

      Yeah the tropical fruits here are so diverse! Sorry about rushing through it I noticed while I was editing at some portions I walked to fast, next time I will spend more time going slower with the fruits.

    Hey Harley, hope I spelled your name right! It’s my first time commenting 😊. Thanks for letting me experience the market with you. I’m also in FL, do you know if mangosteens grow here? I have never seen a mangosteen tree at any of the nurseries around. Safe travels back to FL henny 🤗

      Hi Karen! Thanks for commenting. Mangosteen does not grow in Florida unfortunately, and what I mean by that is it will grow but it wont fruit - It does not like our cold winters. But you can grow 'Yellow mangosteen' which is Garcinia humilis aka Achachairu. It will grow and produce in Florida and the taste is very sweet like mangosteen.

      There was a man named Bill Whitman who fruited on here in South Florida, only one I know. He was a WWII veteran, inventor, and avid fruit explorer. He wrote books on growing tropical fruit in South Florida.

    This guy was literally just focusing on Mangosteen and Atemoya all the time, when there was a untold section of unknown fruits among these 2. Wasted opportunity!

    • @gardenflorida
      @gardenflorida  2 года назад +1

      How was the opportunity wasted? Not for me, maybe for you who wasted your time 😂. I go to that market at least 5 times a year - never wasted anything only gained beautiful memories and fruit.
