I like to imitate crows.....I have been doing it since I was a kid. I was born in the 1960s, so I am pretty old. I like to observe them in my neighbourhood. I love them.
Oh my goodness you were SO right. I have a large family of crows on my property. They have been hanging out here for years and I enjoy them. This morning about a dozen were scattered around silently doing crow business. I crowed and they ALL had a meltdown. They started yelling to each other, from all over the place, formed a flock and got out of Dodge, all in less than 3 minutes. 😢
Dang, your teaching is spot on. I sing so the falsetto was easy, added the guttural and it worked like a charm. It is rough on the throat though and I can't get up high enough to make it sound the right pitch. I can hit the 'auhhhhhh' that you do in the video but once you put the two steps together and do a real call, your pitch jumps up and it sounds very authentic. I wish I could get up that high. Thanks much for posting that video.
Just keep practicing and you'll get there :) it took me a while to do that too. It came with just keeping at it. I'm glad you enjoyed my teaching! Thank you very much. Being an instructor, it's nice to hear when someone enjoys a lesson. Thank you so much! :)
I just love your teaching us how to sound like a crow. I was cracking myself up when I first started with the guttural on top of the high pitch. I started laughing and I couldn’t finish, but I will keep on practicing!
I've desired this crow calling knowledge for a long time! Thank you for sharing. My three dogs sure are curious about what the crazy old man is yelling like a crow for? All the best
Awesome!! Thanks man!! No wonder that local crows were looking at me funny.. I was sounding like a walrus or something!! But now I got it out of first try,---, thanks to the proper explanation ;) HAH! KA KA! Crows and magpies are my favorite too! Cheers outta Croatia! To add, All birds are a manifestation of what a divine creature is capable of, I'd say. Crows especially are very connected to the spiritual world. And the design of bird's body is "out of this world" eh? I will clue you in some more. According to R.Steiner, anything that has an exoskeleton comes from the evil side of the town. Humans can not digest insects, for various reasons. Yet birds feed on them. Birds obviously clean up any excess of bugs, them being able to "digest evil"!! Who knows, maybe locust tornadoes happen only in bird-less regions that have been destroyed by some kind of human industry...
Lovely, can't believe you pulled this off... i can't try right now because two sleeping green cheek conures will freak out. but i'm convinced your explanation will get me close enough. i'll practice in the car yes. did all 3 yes. :)
Heck yeah! It'll take a little while to get it, might help to have a bottle of water with ya too. Your throat will feel scratchy like you're getting sick after the first couple days, but then it goes away. Glad you liked it!! I'll have some more videos coming on how to bring them in. I'm in a new area so I, myself, am having to make all new crow friends and start from scratch.
❤ all your videos great information people don't know but crows will tell you everything... Don't think for a minute that the white tailed deer doesn't understand there language
So true! It's fun to see what they consider important lol There's actually been some research done on animal communications around that topic. Apparently, other birds are alarm systems for other animals too like the Chickadee and the bluejay. They do truly have a system lol
I fed some nesting crows last spring, protein, every morning. Didn’t call them, they just knew when to show up, including one who would wait by the open door, almost coming inside. Smart animals. 👍🤪🏳️🌈
This is cool, Onen. I will follow you. The corvids are great allies, and I can't wait to make some friends. I see Ravens more and more in Urban New England environments (suburbs) . Do you notice this down south too? Looking forward to learning more.
We don't have ravens down here... yet. Lol But as soon as we do, I'll have a whole new set of friends for sure! Thank you for following me! I appreciate it. :)
Don't be dissin' all the Jackdaws out there now. 😉 You do Crow really well. 👍 I don't bother with my locals & just stick to English but they seem to get the gist. However I wish you could meet my two Raven friends. Their language is soooo much more varied & also easier to replicate with an older human larynx such as my own. 😄 So those two, yeah we have some interesting convos. 😎
They seem comfortable when I'm outside with me. Sometimes they seemed to follow me to the store. The other day they were hunting infront of me on a patch of grass. Usually land on a wire above me in the morning. I'm probably one of the few that doesn't drive right now. While I do a 2nd Degree.
That's awesome!! I'd LOVE to be in the middle of that! Get a wizard hat and a staff and go out there when they are all circling and I guarantee you that you get real popular real quick lol haha (just kidding) But for real, sounds like you could make lots of crow friends their. I've never been to Korea town in LA but... it's their a lot of food vendors and stuff on the streets? If so, that might be why. They know where the best chance to get food is.
That's cool! I have no experience with Rooks but I'd like to though! I'm actually learn Welsh at the current moment in time. Got some grammar books on the way. Tough language for me to wrap my mind around, but imma do my best. Sut wyt ti?
Not sure a sound is necessary depending on how close it is. If they are watching you, then you've already accomplished the purpose that calling for them would do. I only do it to bring them into an area. Once they are there, I try not to use it anymore. I'll instead use like a kissing sound, or a whistle or something unique to me so they identify my with not only the my crow call, but my other sounds.
Wow, I live in the mountains in Southern California and the black Crowes. I love so much now they deterred this little hawk from going near my backyard where my hans are and also. Kinda wanna feed them, but I don’t know what to feed them. I love them thank you. We just subscribed to you with our channels.🤍🐶👼🐦⬛🐦⬛🩵🐣🙏🌻💙🐬💋
My cat does not appreciate me practicing this. 😅

I'm so going to do this. I have crows around my property and my plan is to make a feeding platform for them. I hope we all can become friends.
I have a lot of crows near me! I have to try this
Make sure also that the crows you have around you are American crows, and not fish crows.
I just love your teaching us how to sound like a crow. I was cracking myself up when I first started with the guttural on top of the high pitch. I started laughing and I couldn’t finish, but I will keep on practicing!
Very similar to my experience! Everyone around me was laughing 😃
@ 😂😂
my wolfdog tilts his head at your falsetto tone 😊

Just found your channel, and I love it. I love crows.
I'm glad you found it! Hopefully you'll find some useful things on it. :)
I’ve loved imitating bird calls since I was a kid. Glad to add this one to my arsenal.

This is so cool! I love crows - crows and chickadees are my favorite birds. So now I'm going to have to watch your whole series of videos. 😊

Excellent! Learned some more tips on crow calling!!

The explanation was great - so glad you included the German references! I enjoyed this a lot - on to more of them. RJ
Dankeschön! Hopefully it'll help you make some good crow friends in the future. Crows are awesome!

Do you have a video on how to make their knocking sound? Like rolling an 'r' and knocking at the same time.🙏🏽🐦⬛🐦⬛🐦⬛♥️
Not yet, but the more I can figure out, the more videos I'll post about it. Thank you for watching! 😀
There is a group of 500 or more crows that fly around Korea-town in Los Angeles. It's really ominous

You'll* and there* (read that message and realized auto-correct isn't as smart as it thinks it is. Lol)
Just makes me sound like I'm going to throw up 😂😢
Haha!! Actually did make me throw up one time at first cuz it tickles your throat and it sent me into a coughing fit! Lol
Here in the UK in wales we have a majority of rooks. Which are very similar to crows just a little bigger.
That's cool! I have no experience with Rooks but I'd like to though!
I'm actually learn Welsh at the current moment in time. Got some grammar books on the way. Tough language for me to wrap my mind around, but imma do my best.

So what is the sound to make when they are on the phone pole looking at you nearby?
