Did you know also that the 1st steel structure in Asia was built in the PHILIPPINES and it was also Gustav Eiffel who made it. It is called SAN SEBASTIAN CHURCH.
I went up using the stairs. I refused to pay the elevator fee. I was young and healthy. Going up the stairs gave you a different perspective. Reminded me of going up the Statue of Liberty in New York, as an eight years old boy.
You can't go all the way up by stairs. If you want to go to the top you have to use the second elevator. However, you do get an insider's view of the tower on the stairs.
Apparently when built for the "Paris World Exposition", "La Tour d'Eiffel", outraged Parisians, who condemned the "monstrosity".. Yet some years later, when the landmark was scheduled to be demolished, Parisians overwhelmingly demanded that it be kept as a beloved, symbol of "Paris"..!!
No, it was not designed by Eiffel. Eiffel was merely the builder. The architect-designer was a Swiss, Maurice Koechlin who worked for Eiffel. When Koechlin showed him the design Eiffel told him to stop wasting his time so a few years later Koechlin sent in the design for the Great Exhibition of 1889 and out of nearly 900 hopefuls, won.
The tower used the Romanian engineer Panculescu’s system and the primarily cast iron mega structure and steel is coming from Romania, too. Eiffel visited Panculescu in Romania and discussed the project. It is well know, and some plates were fixed on the structure to proof the origin like “Made in Romania” and other information, but in the last few years the French authorities took them off…😅
It is only that important because it is in France. I can imagine if it would stay in my homeland Istanbul Turkey the world would not pay this big attention to it and no one would. It would have been melted to iron long ago. We have so very much more than that rusty piece but no one talks about those.

7 million a year? Do the math It's not possible even if it were open 24 hours a day all year. How big is that elevator and how fast can people go up the stairs? 7 million people might be able to see it from a distance.

Nice to know ❤❤❤❤

Non sense Philipines theory. I have seen maximum filipine places names copied from US😂
When you check steel is Made in Romania 👍🇷🇴⚠️🤐

Me to climbed by stairs in a very cold day in January, and this apartment is not a secret apartment. Visitor can see this apartment.
That's awesome. I never been to Europe. How many flights of stairs, were there..🤔
I climbed up inside the statue of liberty when I was in my 20s
I stepped up the Eiffel tower in 1972 as a 12 year old! It was great!
This tower is iconic!

plumbing/bathroom?
@@carolbowen1693 metoo same thought. Possibly drycloset, tanks.
Yes ironic isn’t it. Fun fact : hitler never got to go up to the top of the tower. They cut the cables to the elevators. Before he entered the city.
Made of steel and rusting, will not last for long .
Typical French

In my opinion Thomas Edison was a monster. And Nicolas Tesla was a genuine genius.

Why is Thomas Edison a monster

I was also up there years ago. However, I don't believe that Eiffel actually ever stayed there. Does someone have real proof of that?

Tesla stayed there

The view of Paris from the observation deck is absolutely overwhelming. Especially at night.
I’ve seen that room, it’s so freaky when you see it, looks so real 😮
My understanding the Eiffel Tower was a temporary structure and was going to be torn down in the 1890s

Pianos are a prob. Thank goodness for keyboards ans small organs.
The BEST of Paris ❤️
I visited Paris in ‘88. When I finally went to the tower , I was awestruck, simply beautiful and amazingly huge.
How the heck did he get a Grand piano up there?!?!?
Perhaps they used a really large balloon 🎈
Well, it's no longer a secret now.
It hasn’t ever been one. The narrator is saying that it is secret for drama and suspense.
Was just there in( May 2024). We were kinda impressed and not so impressed with the tower, but we were glad to see it up close and personal.

Built by humankind, with living history and proofs...next to pyramid of Giza with so much mystery to date.
It's what makes Paris, Paris🗼
I believed the MACCA most visited in the World
Because it is repainted every 5 years, the paint layers alone weigh over 25 tons.
Tesla helped Eifel design it as an electrical conductor
