I was about to get in touch with my landlord about the slow running water issue, then I thought to google, came across your video first, and voila....all fixed. Thanks for your clear explanation and demonstration
Good tip. I ty to remember to do this whenever there has been work done to the watersupply, it's amazing how much sand then manager to get into the pipes. I also let the taps run for a few minutes to flush out any sand to stop it from getting stuck in the ceramic valve inside my taps.
I was on the cusp of calling my plumber when this video enabled me to simply go and unblock my kitchen mixer tap filter - which now flows as good as new!
Hi mark, what about older taps? Something that youd find in an older property that has a system boiler? Could this just be scaling inside the cold feed causing flow issues?
In my experience when taps get old the mechanisms inside become warn or badly scaled up and even if you service them and grease them up and then they run smoothly after 6-months there back to where they were before. Some really old taps literally go on forever. They are made of better quality brass but the problem then is getting them apart. So unfortunately in this new modern age, is more likely just to replace the tap with a new tap as the cost of fixing it can be equal to buying a new one.
It improved things a little but seems to be somewhere between tank and tap. Ours so bad that you cannot hear the tap running, new taps fitted a year ago, no problem before that pipework clear.
This is the most obvious answer and should have been checked first. I was online ordering the tool to reach up and remove the tap. Came across this. “How stupid do I feel?” It fixed my low flow kitchen tap instantly.
How about cleaning the plastic filter with a toothbrush? (or similar) I'm pretty sure it would work as I've used a toothbrush to clean small particle debris from things.
I installed a new kitchen sink and mixer tap. Before I had great pressure but now cold is great but hot is very low compared to previous. Any assist anyone ? Appreciate any and all help so thanks I'm advanced
Hey, turns out the tap I purchased wasn't made for a low pressure house, I needed a high-pressure capable mixer tap so I got the recommended one and hey presto it works great now. So in a bit shell I brought the wrong taps as I didn't know there was different ones lol
Our tap does the same thing in the bath, but our combi boiler says it’s at a steady 1.5 bar? Plus the taps are apparently for both low and high pressure
Oh my goodness!! After MONTHS of the slow tap trickling (after replacing the ceramic washer), this actually worked!! Thank you 💐
Thank you! Dribbling tap has been annoying me for months. Cleaned the softener and its working like a dream.

Thanks! All sorted, panic over at my end 😊

Thank you. I forgot how my plumber fixed my tap last time.

I can't get my aerator off as they are plastic ones. I had a tool but that's not great either. Your help would be greatly appreciated 😊
Does this work with abide ludlow Bridge taps??
I have just installed them and the water flow is slow

How did you fix it?

Mine had a water "saving" restrictor in it as well.... took that out and now it's got more pressure than when new.
Why does my hot tap flow rate reduce by half when I turn the cold tap on as well?
THANKS. I WAS AO IRRITATED. THOUGHT I HAD TO BUY A NEW TAP.
Try a tooth brush and paste or vinegar.
Overdue manicure.
