Hi john, just found this update, loved the glitter band, still do, now 62, got to say you still sound fantastic, you were my favourite, still are, bless you john ❤⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I remember when the Glitter Band were at their peak, I saw them in the 1970s in the ABC cinema in Belfast, not many bands played in Belfast in those dark days of the troubles, they were brilliant, I'm now 60 and still love their music.
I remember buying the single when if first came out. First time I've ever heard it played on classical guitar and you made it sound perfect as I knew you would. Always good to hear you John and those Glitter Band Classics. 😊👍
John you were absolutely gorgeous and still are to this day happy memories of a teenager of the 70s i had the single of goodbye my love i loved that song so much it was my favourite song i was going out with my first love at the time i was 17 in 1975 and he was 19 he had to go back to RAF barricks and i played that record over and over again nearly wore the record out lol and i cried because it was so sad and the song reminded me of him and everytime we had to say goodbye it pain me sadly we broke up in 1976 but still my favourite to this day i have now got the album again with that song on it on CD great songs x ❤️💋
Hi John Springate ! My name is Kevin Simpson I come from Birmingham originally but now live in Wallsend I liked the Glitter Band I thought you bought out some brilliant songs and all the members of the group could sing even the two Saxophone Players! Some might say the group was underrated but I didn’t! You made some catchy songs I liked Angel Face Let’s Get Together Again etc Next week I’m sixty a week today but I Was called a seventies child so my musical memories are with the likes of you David Bowie the sweet etc I hope you are well and enjoying life at the moment kind regards Kevin Simpson.
Another classic Glitter Band hit. If it wasn't for spineless radio execs these songs would receive far more air play. Regardless of context the mention of the word Glitter has them cowering under their decks. It is worth remembering that the Glitter Band too have been victims of Gary's heinous crimes.
you are a wee sweetie! You and the rest of the guys made my teenage years so happy (Sorry, Gerry was the one for me😍☺, but you weren't far behind☺). I've never forgotten The Glitter Band, and I love you all. You made me happy. Thank you xx
John Springate, voice of an angel you lads never got the topbilling you deserve listen to your music all the time on CD and my cherished vinyl scratches and all Rock on John
You and Gerry were the Lennon and McCartney songwriters of the 70s, John. My brother and I were your biggest fans in 74-76. LOVED Paris Match too. fantastic band!
I grew up listening to the glitter band, angel face was the first record I bought, think I was 7. Loved them all my life, and still listen often, please upload more videos. John was always my favourite and he's still a cutie x
Great times this has always been one of my favourites always wanted Gerry’s guitar I know it is in safe hands after having a chat with bob Bradbury 😊last year
Nice one john .it's good to know there is a national radio station that does play glitterband songs called udj united djs with mike read tony prince and many well known proper djs only available on internet and selective dab at the min.
Remember coming to the flat where you lived in Blackheath a few of us lol and you came downstairs and had your photo done with us all ,seem like only yesterday ,now we are all OAPs lol
Such a hard song to play and sing no background music this was one of my favourite groups in my teens and twenties great guitar playing great singing I never really liked Gary glitter
I thought you were both good singers on the records I’ve heard pity about what’s happened though I thought the radio stations would play more of your stuff you bought out it does bring back happy memories of when I was at school in Birmingham.
Mick Cash hi.. I couldn't help noticing your comment on how the guitar sound was achieved on all the Gary Glitter and Glitter Band songs. Well incase you haven't found out I can tell you. All the strings on the guitar are tuned to the note A. Then you bar a finger across all 6 strings and move them up and down the neck depending on what note want..like you do when a slide is used. It's a really odd way to play and takes some practice, and of course it's impossible to play any type of solo...hence the fact it was only the sax players that took them. The idea originally was used because on the original Gary Glitter songs the guitar was played my Mike Leander there manager who freely admitted to being a hopeless guitarist and tuned the guitar that way to make it as simple as possible for himself as he didn't know any chords. I always thought it must have been difficult for Gerry Sheppard to have to play like this as of course he was a very accomplished player and would have to relearn to play in order to these songs. Hope this has answered your query.

loved you never walk out on your baby
How about "look what you've been missing"?
My mate ..
Cliff Castle
All the Glitter Band members sang better than Paul Gadd.
