WVL138 Bad Rear Door!

Here is a test to see whether WVL138s rear door was working properly - it wasn't! The sensor made the engineer's fist get stuck in the rear door for about 10 seconds!

They should add push bars or lazer sensors onto the doors, just like how lifts have it.

chris beverley No! Actually the sensor beems will be on the doors and facing into the other door beem, meaning thar it'll detect what ever is going through the gap in between the doors and not near.

To be honest, I knew that from long time and I bet they where just telling those people about what they do to keep buses safe for passengers, I've learnt that from Arriva and Go-Ahead London.

Evidently, from this footage a defective vehicle which is VOR. Detached tread/edge, improper closure of door and no 'kick - back' should a passenger find themselves in the position of becoming a cropper with a door. This looks like a demonstration to show the problems with even the most minor damage to bodywork and trim, not to mention the failure of sensors/safety mechanisms which become inoperative when even the slightest defects are not noted.............extra driver vigilance and correct following of defect reporting procedures would help.
