Mate as all ways great vid your made me go out and get a kayak myself thanks love it havnt been out in open water yet but one day my lady wants a feed of squid lol thanks again hope to catch you out in the water one day
Gday Graham, reading your comment really made me happy that I am reaching people and, in my own small way, inspiring them to get out there and get into it. I started this channel simply as a place to have a record of my fishing trips, a virtual diary of sorts, but it has become more than that and I hope I send a positive message about not only fishing but life in general. Now get out there and get your lovely lady a feed of squid!
Just found your channel...I have 2 Tarpon 100's which I payed about $1100 bucks each for brand new at the time..obviously many years ago. .still using them to this day...greatest seat design of the era... a Hobbie was just that touch out of the price range, ya know...still is I suppose...Regardless this vid gave me a smile...thanks for that 👍
I bought mine brand new from ll bean for about $1100 usd about 7 years ago ,I think maybe you had problems with the straps because it was stored outside and the weather got to them , I’ve stored mine in the garage since new and I’ve only used it about ten times so it’s still in brand new condition, it’s a great fishing kayak, I’ve never had it in the ocean , only in lakes here in New Hampshire and Massachusetts, I had an anchor pulley system installed that works great if the wind picks up . I’m impressed how quick and smooth it glides over the water for a somewhat short and stocky kayak, I would highly recommend buying one .
Hi mate, would you still recommend this? Found a few used for around $500aus. One even comes with rod holders, watersnake, paddle etc. like to do some exploring, ocean, rivers etc cheers
I have 3 yaks ( which my wife thinks is 3 too many). I mainly use the Hobie or this one, the other one is a cheap Gizmo that I have had for ages....can't have too many toys hey?! :)
Hey @paddlefisher! Love your videos mate, you have got me inspired to go get into it myself now! I live south of the river near Rockingham, you know of any good kayak spots down this way to drop a line in?
Gday mate, glad you enjoy the vids! I don't head down that way too often, but I would think the bottom end of Cockburn Sound would have a few options for you, Mangles Bay for example. Hope you get out there and get some fish soon, cheers!

I also bought a fishing kayak because your videos 👍🏽
I agree. We have Tarpon 10s, 12s and 14s at work. They are great boats, well made from excellent materials. Scoring a 12 for $500 is good going.
Cheers Wayne, I have become a huge fan of this boat, easily one of my favourite "paddle" yaks.

They are a great kayak and a little under rated here ( West Aust) especially when compared to Hobies. Definitely recommend.
For as old that this kayak is, it really shows very minimal wear. I'm considering buying one
I would highly recommend them, great kayaks. Do you mind if I ask where you are and what price would be about average in your area?
Toronto area saw one sell recently for $1000 used older Tarpon 120
Nice kayak. I really like my tarpon 140.
A great family of kayaks, I would like to try out a 140 some day.

I would definitely recommend, sounds like a good price too!
How much do you weigh? Does water come through the scuppers when paddling
I am about 95kg and my bum stays dry.
@@paddlefisher does water ever pool up in the foot wells?
Yeah, sometimes.
Any crocs around ?😮
Good review Andy 👍
Cheers mate, glad you liked it!
Nice kayak
Cheers mate.
im a 105kg , would this be ok or do i need to look a yak with higher capacity?
Should be okay, I am about 90kg and have no problem with this yak. If possible try one out to be sure.
Awesome review, how does the tarpon do when standing up to fish?
I don't stand up to fish as I mostly troll lures in the Tarpon, but I would imagine it would be a bit unsteady. Glad you enjoyed the video!
Hi Paddelfisher are the hobies faster than the old standard oars? I have a tarpon 120.
I reckon I could paddle my Tarpon quicker than I could peddle my Outback, but I could go for much longer on the Outback using leg muscles.
Nicely done Andy ! How many yaks do you have cause you use another in other vids.

@@paddlefisher haha lots of toys for fishing 👍
