Thnk you George and Jim for making my favourite movie since i was 4 or 5. even at 36 i smile like an idiot and feel happy and warm while watching this movie
I remember the media describing Labyrinth as a "failure" when it was new, but 25+ years later, people are still talking about it. (Of course, MGM's Wizard of Oz wasn't well-recieved when it was new either. Maybe someday people will learn to stop listening to critics so much.)
While George Lucas might be easy to ridicule for some of his decisions with Star Wars and Indiana Jones, I have always had nothing but respect for the man, and as a lifelong Muppets fan and admirer of Jim Henson, I always find it so heartwarming that the two of them turned into such good friends at the height of their careers, which is exemplified in the way George is talking about Jim here; only positive things to say about the man. I also really like how both men helped each other with their respective careers (Henson being a consultant for the puppetry used in Star Wars and Lucas executive producing several Henson films).
I'd never seen this video before, and that's saying something, as I'm obsessed with Labyrinth and all the behind-the-scenes stuff. What's weird to me is seeing the footage from the filming of the climactic confrontation with Jareth and Sarah. He was doing it completely different. I wonder how many variations there were?
Same here. I'm always looking for stuff like this to add to my collection of media covering the behind the scenes of this movie. The way they filmed the confrontation here is incredible. The way he says "Sarah" could be interpreted completely different from the final cut's version. It's kinda beautiful.

Just saw this at a concert hall in memoriam for David Bowie. Hadn't seen it on a big screen since 1985! Great night!
Screw the haters!! Labyrinth is a fun movie from start to finish!
People hate the film?!

Lucas & Henson traded 17 different cuts of this movie! There must have been tons of variations.
Great footage, where's the full interview?
What is this from? I don't remember this being on any of the DVD releases (I own them all).
