Yes, I created this because I got fed up with the misleading video titles / thumbnails on this matter elsewhere. Hope it helped. You might also like my more comprehensive Audacity vid (purple thumbnail, "Fix Audio...") which I created as a 'one stop shop' after learning more handy podcast-editing functions. Cheers, Adrian
Thanks @alexlabs, glad you found helpful. I put together because all the ones with thousands of views didn't actually do as advertised (removing the echo!). Appreciate the feedback.
Instead of reverb, I have 1 party in the recording echoing 1 full second later at a slightly louder volume. None of the videos I've found on youtube seem to address such a scenario. Can you help at all?
Sorry, this sounds to me like best option would be to record again at higher quality (if that's possible); otherwise I can only think that you'll face a great deal of time selecting the individual portions and adjusting. Do try playing around with the reverb options I describe though.
Audacity works on audio files only. I would recommend a video editing software (or online converter tool) to first separate the audio from the video, run that audio through Audacity, then create video again with that audio. Microsoft Clipchamp is quite good for video editing, or iMovie for Mac.
This is pure gold. Thanks for the video
Glad you enjoyed it!
super helpful, the only thing that helped ! thank you !
Glad it helped!
Ok, this isn't a video pretending to remove echo while doing a noise reduction.
I expected the needed menu to look something like this.

Really helpful, thank you so much!
Most welcome, this is fiddly yet powerful software.
I also have a blog on eato.blog/blog if you want to know more on Audacity.
Very helpfull, GRACIAS !
Most welcome!
198 views and an absolute GEM of a video! Thanks so much! Leaving a comment to feed to the algorithm gods.

Thank you.
this was so helpful 😊
Most welcome! Note that Audacity v3.6 does things slightly different, so watch out for another video in due course.
Thank you sooo much sir .......❤❤❤

Did a search for this only to find videos using the noise reduction tool which was useless. This video was exactly what I needed. Many thanks.
Glad to help!
You the best bro. RUclips need to push this
Thanks, yes I don't think YT bumps my stuff yet!
I'm amazed to see how using the reverb tool to reduce excess reverb or echo.
Awesome :)
Starts from 6:00. Very useful. Thank you.
You're welcome, thanks for feedback. I'll add in chapters so folk can skip, as I've started doing with other videos!
Awesome!! Thank you for the help..

Can it work for video files?
