I love how they were not able to immeidietly connect the dots that the Simon Trummer car (car #25) was off at T1 (which had everything they were looking for: fast corner with large gravel run-off) because Nicolas Lapierre had made contact with it their puncturing his tyre. Why couldn't they make this connection? Because they didn't pay enough attention and didn't notice that the car Lapierre had been allegedly far ahead of when he lots cotrol, was the #25 car driven by Simon Trummer.
At 34:33 you can see the #25 on the side of the car the #9 was passing before coming in contact with it. It had the livery and everything. For some inexplicable reason they didn't even want to consider that, but it was clearly an impact. The #9 Toyota was knocked out due collision damage and a poor recovery. It's been a few years since I last watched this race, and I can't remember if they ever worked that out. It looks to me as if Trummer hit the #9 in the left rear, and Lapierre over-corrected, easy enough when one tire just went. I don't know why they came together though. Looks like Lapierre left him plenty of room. But they were right - the first exterior footage did show the #9 with its rear deck intact.

That was such a dumb move by Nicholas LaPierre trying to drive the car back that fast with a flat. He ruined the car. And the rest of the race for his team.
Both toyotas were basically stranded when they encountered their problems after going right by the pit lane, thats harsh

I didn’t notice that. Always have to remember it’s 1am so I’m sure they are tired. I did know the 25 was out in the first sector

I can say, the reason Toyota lost the #9 car, was because of Lapierre!
He was also the reason why Toyota didn't win in 2014. He isn't a bad driver, but he does have a tendency to make big mistakes in big races.
