As a retired (medically) 51 year old, life just happens. No matter how much or how little you do, it happens and nothing is a waste if it brings you happiness. I enjoyed working, now I enjoy resting. My productivity isn't great, but my happiness is...
A fun thing about the daily videos/rainy Paris is the ongoing question of... "Does Jay own any rain gear? Does Jay even believe in rain gear?" (And then in this video you said- "I really need a new rain jacket") :)
Thank you for your channel, Jay. Gratitude! Your previous guest Nathaniel Drew who has his own inspirational RUclips channel posted this poem recently that to me seems very appropriate here: LEISURE BY WILLIAM HENRY DAVIES What is this life if, full of care, We have no time to stand and stare. No time to stand beneath the boughs And stare as long as sheep or cows. No time to see, when woods we pass, Where squirrels hide their nuts in grass. No time to see, in broad daylight, Streams full of stars, like skies at night. No time to turn at Beauty's glance, And watch her feet, how they can dance. No time to wait till her mouth can Enrich that smile her eyes began. A poor life this if, full of care, We have no time to stand and stare.
I feel so seen right now. I also had these thoughts . "How do they do it?" "I miss having energy." "That's not the life I want to live." I tried so much to change my mindset, but finally I quit my full time job and got a totally different one part time. I love it. First thing I did to fill my free time: book a trip to Paris. I plan on doing this on a regular basis. Even being able to have this thought feels so wonderful. Thank you for this video. ❤
@@JaySwanson is there a helper sometimes? I swear I've seen the camera move to follow you in a couple of videos! Great job on shooting and framing regardless.
Excellent videoing, and editing and compilation, soo talented. Yes efficiency, productivity at this stage in my life is about smaller chunks of qualitative effort in work, projects, coincided with increased valued spaces of down time, special interests, creativity and meaningful relationships. Finding purpose in each day, small goals and achievements, leaning to bigger dreams and aspirations. Being part of life and light in some beautiful capacity.
your shots are getting balsier and balsier dude! I feel like one of these days we're going to see a "I am shooting this from my iPhone because my camera got stollen today" video.
I left Wales 30 years ago to London and people just stopped staying in contact but I’ve recently moved back to wales and everyone has started phoning again! Weird! Seems if you aren’t directly down the road people find it difficult to stay in contact.

1:23 In my case, I’m forgetting to post stuff. I had a post for Friday that I posted on Monday and then hurriedly finished my Monday post. The only thing I’ve done for 12 years gay is be annoying lmao
Good thoughts for a rainy day, thanks for sharing with us! :) I found "Four Thousand Weeks: Time and How to Use It" by Oliver Burkeman a help for how we could all spend our 4K (or, well, a bit less now),
Jay you never seem to take the bus. I love them in Paris, you get to see so much more , the metro is depressing My guess is you think it’s too slow? Just curious
So like, how do you film yourself going past locked areas? Do you run back to pick up your phone after going on the train? Or like jump the metro ticket gate? 😂 I really enjoy your editing though; I notice the effort to esabush setting.

Thanks for sharing 🙏 Glad you're happy
I love how when you speak to "us," it feels like you are speaking directly to one person..."me."
🙏
1000% agree with you Jay. I love spending time in France and Paris is beautiful. It’s so easy to get in your exercise simply by walking.
And the metro provides all the stairs you need 😎
Wow. I needed this messaging today. “Efficiency is not the end goal.” I love that.
Happy it struck a chord!

I think the more you try to be efficient, the less efficient you become. The quote you mentioned in absolutely spot on.
🥂
Philosophy as many ordinary people understand it. I'm turning into a fan. Also Cooper.
I mean, Cooper's hard to resist 🥰🐶
Jay,in case you didn’t know it, your videos are addictive.

LEISURE
BY WILLIAM HENRY DAVIES
What is this life if, full of care, We
have no time to stand and stare.
No time to stand beneath the boughs
And stare as long as sheep or cows.
No time to see, when woods we pass,
Where squirrels hide their nuts
in grass.
No time to see, in broad daylight,
Streams full of stars, like skies at night.
No time to turn at Beauty's glance,
And watch her feet, how they
can dance.
No time to wait till her mouth can
Enrich that smile her eyes began.
A poor life this if, full of care,
We have no time to stand and stare.
I regret not paying attention to this channel for a few years. Idk why I stopped.
Happy you're back ⚡

That's great! Sounds like you've figured some big questions out. I hope the trips to Paris are amazing 🥂
I always take notes watching your videos. So great trips are guaranteed, I guess 😉
The ability to dream in this economy is a luxury in itself.
The camera shots where you board the metro or pass through the turnstiles make my palms sweat. How do you get back to the camera fast enough?
🧙♂️

Tinker Bell(e), is his camera assistant.
Before I was able to start the video, I had to belt out a little of "These Dreams" by Heart... 💁♀ Anyway...Good vid, thanks!
⭐🎼🎶🎵
Yay you went to back in black! I like to think I influenced that 😂
😆

Just want to say Jay, I'm enjoying your work. I missed casey neistat NYC vlogs. This is pretty close.
High compliment, thank you 🙏
You are always running! That’s great. Talk about discipline.
Every day! 🏃
@@JaySwanson Awesome!
1:40 she heard you talking to yourself and started running lmao
I wanted to put another "Leroyyyyyy Jenkins!!" in there but resisted 😆
Noir = the color of GOOD coffee, Jay! ❤
😆☕

Glad they're popping up!
Hi Jay. The Peloton is in your videos less now. Is there a reason for that?

C'est un beau rêve ☕

That's a great book too
You need matching coats. You and Cooper. Question: Is it ever going to stop the rain. I have Paris ideas but they don’t work in the rain 🤬. 🌴🌴Aloha
😆
The 'if I run fast enough I'll be invisible to the camera' moment for that girl:

Do you have tried the keto diet to keep you energized?
Wait ... when did you switch to Mac?
I'm hybrid 😆
Did the title change? Or am I dreaming😂
It did 😆 Gotta play with them when the videos underperform out of the gate. At least a little
I kinda miss you talking to the camera while you're walking....
That's definitely a vibe
Noir because it’s moody and chic
Heyyyy 😎☕

Stay dry!
Trying and mostly failing 😆
Blipfoto…take a look. Focus lovvveed the mug, in both senses
Boy did it 😆🤦♂️
