LOL We've been laughing at this convo since realizing he's not possessed but NAH my dudes there's something to figure out here! This is just my theory let me know if there's any holes in it!
The way I see, Pecharunt subconscious produces toxic energy that influences certain emotions in that weakened state. It was only able to amplify Kieran's negative state, but only that much.
Maybe it was Mochi that brought the Loyal three back? Certain Mochi powered up the loyal three so maybe something similar revived them and the “aura” was Mochi powder. Idk
Kieran could be a Medium, a Shadow Human, or both? I mean, the Mediums in Lavender Tower were influenced by Marowak's ghost when Team Rocket Invaded... Or Pecharunt somehow closed off Kieran's heart, which would explain why it took the expedition team almost dying and the MC calling out to Kieran before he finally came to his senses (I've noticed quite a few possible references to R/B/Y, D/P/Plat, and Colosseum in the DLC)...
I'm actually glad that Kieran wasn’t possessed. His decisions and actions hit much harder when he chose them himself rather than being manipulated by some outside force.
Him being affected (not possessed) by a Pokemon cabable of fulfilling wishes with a cost is million times more interesting plot than him just becoming mad and all the hints of him being influenced being there for no reason.
I don't think Kieran was ever possessed, my guess is that Pecharunt maybe influenced him somehow to trick him into reviving the Lousy Three. Maybe because Pecharunt was asleep his mind control wasn't as powerful as it is in the epilogue, and it didn't take control Kieran, but used his emotions to hopefully bring the Lousy Three back to life.
@@UnboundThunder Well for starters, we don't know if that's the only way someone can get controlled by Pecharunt. The Loyal Three are also controlled by him with the Toxic Chains and not the Mochi as far as we know. Also it's not that He was controlling Kieran, just using it's aura to amplify his emotions to it's favor
Or, maybe he was just really angry when you became friends with him, only to betray him about something he loved, and because he never had a real friend before (carmine wasn’t the greatest friend), he overreacted
@@Nuigi12 well we don't know if kerian as had an interaction with pecharunt before that but due to how he reacts it seems like hasn't so i don't see how he can influence him if that's the only encounter as well.
I feel it’s because the shrine itself had the aura, and him punching it may have reactivated the toxic chains and revived the Loyal Three. Maybe Pecharunt is like a sponge for negative aura, which Kieran was BOILING with at the time
I think Pecharunt TRIED to possess Kieran but couldn't because he was too focused on his anger towards the protagonist. I mean it's a common conception that the easiest people to manipulate are the kind ones (like Peachy in the shop), Kieran was already so full of anger Pecharunt couldn't get to him, and the moment he punched the shrine was the last strike to completely set his goal regarding destroying the protagonist, and so the last strike to completely erase pecharunt's aura from him, transferring it to the shrine he punched and so resuscitating the Loyal Three.
If you remember you find Kieran at Peachy’s when you lied to him. The pokedex states that people who eat the mochi get possessed but also bring out their desires and capabilities. The latter is what we saw happen with Kieran So the conclusion is that Pecharunt can bring out desire and capabilities regardless but to be possessed the mochi is necessary
But it was implied that kieran doesn't like mochi, remember the dialogue about him loving candy apples ? He emphasizes his craving for them by mentioning how they usually only have mochi at home , therefore i doubt he'd go and eat the mochi he's so tired of
@@Vellyuu I geuss I didn't clarify enough. I also don't think he ate any mochi. What I meant was Pecharunt could've influenced when you find him at Peachy's. Since it's just influence not eating mochi, Kieran's desire and capabilities were drawn out but not possessed
One of Pecharunts Pokedex entries stat that it feeds others poison mochi to bring out their desires. Since Kieran didn't eat any mochi, there's no way for it to possess him.
I personally think he was possessed but not at the immense capability we see in the epilogue. We see Kiki possessed at a lesser extent because the peach pokemon hasn’t been fully awakened and he didn’t eat mochi yet. Explains why he has the purple aura but not the purple eyes and why resurrects the trio.
maybe its full Mochi Mochi dance possesion OR the inner desire one? like the pokemon just decides wich one, heck the Lousy 3 have the dang mochi around their body and they are fine
In the scene where Kieran asks why you lied to him, he was within the radius of Pecharunt's power. However Pecharunt was weakened to the point it couldn't mochi-possess Kieran. When Kieran punched the shrine, Pecharunt transferred that power from Kieran to the Loyal Three (Who were already influenced by Pecharunt), this reviving them. Any remaining influence of Kieran, if any, withered away while in the Area Zero Underdepths.
The biggest problem with the whole Pecharunt possession theory with Kieran for me is that when we see people ACTUALLY possessed, they aren't exactly aggressive. They just kinda get all weird and dance. Honestly, the biggest question I have about the epilog is what the heck Pecharunt was even trying to do by making everyone dance around
Maybe it just found it funny to make people do it. The Grandma fed mochi to the grandpa while under Pecharunt’s control and she didn’t dance right away so idk
Pecharunt was making them do that to get other people to also eat the mochi, though only kierans grandma actually did that, they were made into walking advertisements... terrible advertisements, pretty sure pecharunt was simply trying to possess as many people it could, for any other reason
Pecharunt tried to make its own version of the poison apple scene from Snow White, but it used the wrong recipe and ended up making "Chicken Dance Mochi" instead. Things got out of hand from there... 🤣
I think in the epilogue it was just causing mischief for the sake of it, maybe because it sensed what had happened with Ogerpon and the loyal three and got annoyed or something. I'm sure if it could be more dangerous if it had any desire to
The Pokedex says that Pecharunts mochi draw out peoples desire to chain them to its control, so maybe the implication is that their collective desire was to be happy and dance or something? It's kinda unclear to me how us having the special Pecha in our bag also ties into this, maybe that Pecha works like catnip on Pecharunt?
It's possible that Kieran's situation is a mix of ghostly influence (NOT possession, INFLUENCE), and his heart being artificially closed off (similar to how Shadow Pokemon were created in the Pokemon Coloseum series). In the Teal Mask DLC, Keiran says that anytime he visited the ogre's cave, the ogre was never there. This suggests that Ogerpon could see the dark energy in Kieran (similar to Rua's power to see the dark energy that the Shadow Pokemon had). As for HOW Kieran got corrupted, It's most likeky due to constant exposure to Pecharunt (assuming Kieran spent a lot of time at Peachy's). This is similar to how the Mediums in Lavender Tower were influenced by The GHOST (who was enraged by Team Rocket's desecration of Marowak's grave). Also, we, the player, made things worse by listening to Grandpa when he told us not to tell Kieran about the true story of the ogre, AFTER TELLING US 2 SECONDS PRIOR THAT "KIERAN PROBABLY ALREADY INTUITED THE TRUTH ABOUT THE OGRE BEING INNOCENT"! All of this combined is what started Kieran's villain arc.
Also maybe that influence lingered for a little bit as Kieran dyed his hair red and folded it in the shape of Pecharunt. I wonder if Drayton's jokes about it to Kieran were about something that happened at some point that isn't said on screen.
@@itskdog Kieran didn't dye his hair, he just reversed it by pulling it up. If you look at his original style, you can see the red underside. Carmine even points out this out and calls him out for being too edgy.
In the german scarlet dex entry it even says that it powers up anyone/anything it comes into contact with, boosting their desires. And Kierans desire was to become stronger and make new friends, but it gets twisted in the more dark direction which caused him to overreact because of Pecharunts influence
Yeah that’s what I think too. All the “zombies” had eaten a mochi, Kieran just happened to be near him while having his emotional dilemma. Though I’d love to hear what you think about the loyal three now that we know for a fact they were possessed/influenced by the toxic chains. Kinda feels messed but they were killed while acting against their will because of peacharunt.
they were not infuenced peachyrunt fufilled their dreams not made them evil, the loyal 3 were driven by greed after being given power their "confusion" caused them to kill ogerpons master. the loyal 3 were not being controlled by pecherunt, as evident by the lack of purple eyes and aura they serve him of their own free will the chains purely enhance their best traits. furthur proven by their pokedex entry: all say " retainer pokemon" they likely saw the 4 mask and tried to steal them as a Gift for their lord. peachyrunt was never controlling them thu s why peachyrunt is angry the only 3 pokemon he trusted have betrayed him for eemingly no reason
Kieran absorbed Pecharunt's power from the store. When he came to the Loyalty Plaza, he released the power by punching one of the posts. The "Loyal Three" awoke because they sensed Pecharunt's power within Kieran.
My original thought was that Keiran was never possesed. The aura on his fist was from the aura embedded in the shrine, since the loyal three were under pecharunt's influence. So it was just the punch itself that disturbed the shrine and caused them to awaken, especially with him holding the teal mask they were originally after. That was what I thought anyway, until I was reminded that he had the aura in the promotional art as well... 🤔
i'm a firm believer in pecharunt being an opportunistic bully, taking advantage of other's weaknesses and their fears, desires, and ambitions. like you said in the DLC yourself it seems that it was dormant until it steals the mythical pecha berry, so it isnt at full power nor able to make mochi. but it IS still powerful enough to use kieran's feelings to resurrect the loyal three, especially since it can probably sense Ogrepon is finally active around town more and it took the opportunity to revive the three through influence. i love this
the weirdest part of all this is that pecharunt’s pokédex entries say that eating the mochi brings out the persons innermost desires which is exactly how kieran was acting in the indigo disk, but not at all how the villagers were acting in the epilogue
Something interesting about Pecharunt’s Ability is that is confuses the opponent if they become poisoned. So perhaps because Kieran’s mind was already “poisoned” (through his anger), Pecharunt’s power was able to influence him for a bit
Cool idea! I don’t think this is the case though, just because the ability specifically says “it confuses opponents who are poisoned by Pecharunt’s moves.”
Yeah when I used Pecha in doubles I tried seeing if poisoning with Okidoki would cause Poison Puppeteer to trigger, but it didn't. It also doesn't trigger with Toxic Spikes
I noticed when fighting Kieran during the indigo disk unless my eyes were fooling me either during the cutscene before the fight or when the “you are challenged by Kieran” there is a purple aura around his hand. Might have just seen things tho 😅
From rewatching the videos for the Epilogue, I noticed that some of the people seemed a bit more expressive at times in the battle dialogues. Not only that, Penny and Nemona were the only two that had other words mixed into the "mochi mochi" that everyone says. Penny's dialogue had bits of Eevee due to her love for Eevee and its evolutions while Nemona's dialogue had bits of battle talk since she loves battle. From that, I think that people's emotions and desires can be amplified when they're possessed. In Kieran's case, he could've been indirectly exposed and was only half possessed...causing him to slowly become more and more emotionally unstable, even after he was no longer possessed when he punched the altar and caused the Loyal Three to be brought back to life. He may be back to himself ever since the "Terapagos Incident" (him freaking out that his desire to become stronger almost got himself and Carmine severely hurt), but there are two instances where he got close to becoming crazed again because of the stress he was going through with the first one being during the Epilogue (the moment his eyes looked hollow when he thought he'd be the next person to be cursed).
It also makes sense that Peacharunt energy influenced Kieran but he didn't control him, as he was still dormant. Kieran made all his decisions at will, but it was thanks to Peacharunt toxic energy that he could achive his goal of becoming stronger, as it made him obssesed with being the best but in return he got corrupted, he bearly sleep and become a bully, pretty much like the Loyal Three, and it wasn't until Kieran let go of his envy and ambitions that he could return to normal, like if he got detoxicated. I also think that Peacharunt energy/toxins could have tranfeted Kieran bia smell, as it was said in the epilogue that Peacharunt in his dormant form "smelled sweet" and Kieran was around Peachy's when he started to get corrupted.
Peacharunt might also have a connection to beings that want power and are envious of others, Kieran and the lousy three wanted power and at some point the 4 of them were envious of something (Lousy 3- Masks, Kieran- player) so perhaps this similarity actually played a role in the matter. I think it's also important to notice that the Lousy three are under Peacharunt's influence but Peacharunt might not be in total control of them, I mean, their eyes aren't purple, there's no purple aura and they aren't dancing, so perhaps peacharunt is able to influence whoever searches for more power in a selfish manner without the need of feeding them mochis, even if it isn't total mind control
The aura could also have emanated from the monument when it broke, and not from Kieran himself. Kind of like the trope when dark shadows emanate from a broken sarcophagus or something.
Yeah I feel like this is what I was thinking too. I’d go a step further and say that maybe the Loyal Three sensed the negative emotions of Kieran and “woke up”
I actually think Kieran only lost Pecharunt's influence when you beat him at BB Academy. Pecharunt gains new dialogue after beating the Indigo Disc, which lines up with when Kieran returned home. Pecharunt started to wake up because we shook it's influence loose from him, and the Mythical Pecha Berry was able to fully awaken it
I agree; Kieran was never possessed, but considering how he was near Pecharunt's "body" at Peachy's he could at the very least have been nudged by its dormant spirit to behave differently. I think the purple aura that leaked out of the shrine is probably Kieran breaking/disturbing the shrine's seal. In Shintoism there is a concept called "shintai" where kami (spirits) reside in physical objects ("yorishiro"). So while the Loyal Three did actually die and were buried, I imagine their spirits were bound to the shrine waiting to be unleashed once more
I think that as Kieran was stood near the stand Pecharunt was slowly regaining more power and so when Kieran was angry and hurt Pecharuny took advantage of this and used like mind control to get Kieran to revive the loyal three but in the moch madness dlc pecharunt was fully recovered and thats why everyone eas screaming mochi Also after the DLC i fed my pecharunt one of the purple mochis for stats and my game crashed and i found that really funny 😂
lol i love how timed the crash is i think the game didnt want to confuse itself with pecharunt eating a mochi the same colour as what it uses to possess people, so it didnt deal with it well, try using someting else to boost those stats...
I think what happened to Kieran is that he started making poor decisions at every turn because of Pecharunt, and I think Pecharunts influence can be read as an analogy for dysphoric mania. Dysphoric mania (very dumbed down version) is something that happens to people with bipolar disorder, and it's a mix of being depressed (feeling down, concentration issues, feelings of worthlessness, etc.) and manic (high energy, restless, trouble sleeping, etc.). Kieran starts the story mentally healthy, but after being lied to about Ogerpon, and presumably being affected by Pecharunt, he's overcome by extreme feelings of jealousy, a symptom of mania. After that, he tries to act like his old self by telling the villagers the true story of what happened to Ogerpon, but it doesn't actually make him feel better, so he battles you to have Ogerpon to himself. After that fails, he runs away, and at this point, he's in a dysphoric mania episode. From WebMD, Kieran seems to have the following symptoms of mania: * A happy, high mood * Crankiness/touchiness * Feeling jumpy, wired, or extra active * Feeling extra important, talented, powerful, or capable of doing a lot * Less need for sleep He may also have racing thoughts or lots of ideas, but we can't see into his head, of course. He also seems to have the following symptoms of depression: * Feeling sad, anxious, or down * Restlessness * Trouble making decisions * Problems sleeping * Less interest in activities * Hopelessness or worthlessness Once again, we can't see his thoughts, but he may also be forgetful or have thoughts of death or suicide. Tackling each point in order, we see Kieran smile manically, snap at people for little to no reason, freak out when he sees us and when he loses battles, act better than everyone in the League Club, he seems to have bags under his eyes (or maybe it's just eyeshadow...), he's clearly miserable, he taps his foot all the time, he pushes everyone around him away, once again he has eye bags/eyeshadow, he isn't enjoying Pokémon battling, and just before he snaps out of it during the Terapagos fight, he insists that he's useless and can't help us at all. Pecharunt wasn't "controlling" him, necessarily, but it was clouding his judgment in the same way dysphoric mania would. You could also read it as Pecharunt only being the catalyst for his episode, and that he wasn't being affected by it at all during the second DLC. Either way, I think dysphoric mania lines up really well with the behavior we see during both DLCs.
I think I know why Kieran was able to resurrect the loyal three maybe it was cause he was in possession of the teal mask when punching the statues. The game briefly mentions that the teal mask has healing properties on the signpost near the kitakami hall.
@@multiversal_guardian7079Yeah I wish it was mentioned more in the story, This is another one of those cases where Gamefreak makes lore and never expands on it...Hopefully, Paldean winds gives us more info
When it comes to the aura... the loyal three's reseraction had the teal mask there so it could be residual energy mixed with the mask to bring them back and when it comes to the pronation stuff. I don't think to hard about it.
Maybe pecharunt feeds off of negative energy and sensed this within Kieran, specifically targeting him and bringing out more of this energy via its dark influence. Its end goal may have been for it to reawaken itself with enough negative energy and the peak of Kieran’s negativity (him punching the sign and hurting his hand) is what did so. I believe that in that very moment pecharunt was reawakened, and as a direct result the loyal three were revived as well, them being pecharunt’s primary subjects and only pokemon possessing the toxic chain. Maybe another effect of the toxic chains themselves is the bearer’s life force being tied to pecharunt’s. And if this is true, then maybe you’re right that pecharunt died when the loyal three originally attacked the village, bringing them down with it, rather than ogerpon getting the finishing blows like the villagers believed amidst the chaos. This is extremely speculative though 🤣
Seems like Pecharunt has been trying to find someone like Kieran to transfer over its energy to the Loyal Threes' remains so that they could be resurrected. I have to imagine that it did this steadily over the years with many other people having a bad day, building up more and more energy at the shrine until there was enough to resurrect them in that big explosion of purple light. The shopkeeper must've been its primary host for this endeavor.
There are two ways for peacharunt to poision and controll someone. One is the mochi it feeds others with, that results into the forcefull possession. The second is the toxic cain like with what happend to the loyal three. I think what happend was when we lied to kieran it gave birth to his desire to beat us and get revenge. So when he later punched the shrine (while holding the teal mask) his desire resonates with the loyal threes desire to get revenge on ogrepon and all of that allowed the toxic chain to resurrecte the three pokemon. As a side effect some of the poision of the chain also attached itself to kieran, fueling his desire even more but not out right possessing him. I also noticed his two strands of hair that go up into the ponytail look like the end part of the toxic chain.
the riddler said one of the characters will be important in the next game and everyone said its the tooth paste guy, but according to the actual order of released games, gen 2 would be next, so the important character in the next game might be an evil kieran from kitakami, maybe he is some sort of villain, i doubt somehow that the climax of the story will be red and team rocket again anyways, that got kinda old and we allready have lets go pikachu on switch which is without the red we know so the next johto game should be different anyways, maybe its kierans time to shine. i kinda hope so since i think kieran is a pretty cool character
My theory goes; pecharunt took advantage of the weakness in his mindset and tried to manipulate him but then failed to fully control him but also got a bonus as resurrection of the 3. His mindset did suffer and caused him to be single minded
Pecharunt gives kieren poison aura to revive the loya three because is the only way to revive them, thats why after kieren punch connect to alter the poison aura was release and revive the loyal three.
I liked the possession theory, but it being more like the Venom Suit from Spider-Man 3. It's still Kieran, but his impulsive and dangerous emotions are strengthened.
Pecharunt in the lore: grants people and pokemon wishes like some kind of evil genie but binds them to its will to become its corrupted servants Pecharunt in-game: chicken dance + thriller
TPC just released a new video that sorta gives the idea that Pecharunt is able to grant and give more desires to the people and pokemon it meets and controls. Kieran likely had his ambitions fueled by Pecharunt, as such and that desire was what allowed him to revive the Loyal 3.
You bring up how maybe Kieran, when lied to, brought him down emotionally. What was in the Loyal Three’s Pokédex entries? The reason why the way that they are was by desire and bad thoughts. If Kieran was close to Pecharunt, maybe it was his desire to get back at us because of not just us lying to him, but how Ogerpon was with us the player instead of Kieran after winning the battle. Hence bringing out dark and twisted Kieran wanting to get stronger and to beat us at the end of the Teal Mask
Here's my pitch: Kieran's anger and frustration in that moment by Peachy's resonated with the dormant Pecharunt's anger and frustration with losing to Ogerpon, which caused Kieran's own aura to replicate or resonate with Pecharunt's. In short, it wasn't Pecharunt's power that resurrected the Loyal Three, it was Kieran's. The peach was basically a glow-plug.
There's something so fishy about Peachy. I thought she was just a nice old lady selling homemade knitwear... The statues of the loyal three are dressed in knitwear. Purple knitwear. Conveniently, the placement of their accessories is also where their toxic chains would sit. I think it's not a mere coincidence that the person who had Pecharunt in her storefront is the one associated with knitting, giving the implication that she was also the one who knitted the "toxic chains" for the statues. Also where was she during the epilog? She just disappeared without a trace and was the only villager not present during the finale. I don't trust that woman.
I think Pecharunt might have imposed its will on Kieran somehow via its smell, because when you interact with it after catching Terapagos (don't know if this dialogue can happen before), it says "It's an old plush, it smells sweet".
Has anybody interacted with Amarys in the club after the end of the Epilogue? She mentions that Kieran changes after meeting “us” in Kitakami for the first time, but doesn’t believe our presence was what caused this change… Leading me to believe Kieran truly was under the influence of Pecharunt (not possessed) and having an in game character reference that it wasn’t just what happened to him was what caused his change in personality
If you were to ask me, I don't think that what happened to Kieran has anything to do with Pecharunt. Like for one, the theory that he was possessed is stupid so i'm glad that didn't happen. Like that would imply that somehow Pecharunt came out of the doll and then somehow got Kieran to eat the mochi which makes no sense. Plus his speech patterns didn't change nor did he do any weird chicken movements so this leads to the second point, the theory of the influence of Pecharunt leaking into Kieran a little bit is also stupid because how would that work? If Kieran got influenced by Pecharunt then one, why didn't he have a reaction to Pecharunt and maybe found it familiar or something and two, what about the rest of the village? Plus if that was true then it would still kind of ruin his character arc because I liked the idea that he was doing it out of revenge like how he deserves to do so but getting possessed or even influenced would ruin that. My theory is that The Loyal Three never died because Ogerpon hitting them with Ivy Cudgel is just like a move and I don't think any Pokemon died from that moved so it's very possible that they just got knocked out and buried or they just got bored and went to sleep underground, then when Kieran punched the shrine I think that his energy that went into punching the shrine travelled into the three and awoken them or something, I do not believe that it was because of Kieran. If anyone else like Carmine or the player did it then it would probably have the same effect.
I... somewhat agree? It's pretty clear Kieran never ate one of Pecharunts mochi, he was never one of its puppets... but I think it's very likely he was still under Pecharunts influence. Pecharunt clearly has the power to draw out peoples and Pokemons desire, the Pokedex states as much but also we see this clearly with the 3 retainers, but Kierans desire isn't something like the 3 retainers which it could just grant on the spot, Kierans desire was linked to Ogerpon and the feeling of being left out. And all that happens while Kieran is supposedly under Pecharunts influence is that he steals Ogerpons mask... not to bring it back himself but to lure us to him, so we'd be forced to include or at least acknowledge him. The other things is... Kieran seems like he caught himself after that fight, or at least when Carmine brings him to save Ogerpon from the retainers and we start including him again, he seems relatively back to his old self. It isn't until Ogerpon signals that it wants to go with us that he goes into another downward spiral... a different one from before, mind you, but anyways, it seems unlikely that he fell under whatever spell Pecharunt had him before again, so, from the start, that seemed more like... Pecharunt simply flipped a switch that had been in Kieran all along, and after that switch got flipped once, it was prone to getting switched again... which was that entire arc Kieran had in the Blueberry Academy where he started obsessing over winning due to his inferiority complex towards us.
Reading all the comments all make sense, but none of you brought up the dialogue when you began the event. The "plush" was described to emit a sweet aroma. If eating the mochi fully possesses you, then just smelling it just brings out your desires like the dex describes, but never possess you.
I always took it as the shrine had the aura in it due to being the final resting place for the loyal 3 and the malice in Kieran’s heart is what set the revival in motion
Kieran was possessed by Pecharunt. You need to read Scarlet Pokedex entry. "It feeds others toxic mochi that draw out DESIRES and capabilities. Those who eat the mochi fall under Pecharunt's control, chained to its will. " Kieran desire was greater than what Pecharunt could control, and we see this with Nemona. Nemona love for battling was overtaking Pecharunt's control. How did Kieran get possessed by Pecharunt, you may ask? He overheard the conversation about Ogerpon and how Carmine lied to him. He was upset and ran to Peaches for Mochi to deal with his anger. Pecharunt noticed this and switched the Mochi to the Toxic Mochi. Do you remember what the sign at Peaches said with the plate of Mochi take one. The answers are right there in front of you, and you need to pay attention to the details.
Even though Kieran influence ended at the summoning of the Loyal Three, I would argue that a lingering side effect exacerbated his desire to defeat you... which leads into the BlueBerry Arc. It took the Area Zero Epilogue for you to snap him out of it.
Mochi made by Peacharunt made people become under its control and have purple eyes but what if those people made mochi ? Like what if Peachy’s really under Peacharunt’s control or actually knowing all along that Peacharunt is still alive and is the one making mochi and Kieran eat it that’s why he gained a bit of Peacharunt’s power ? Peachy herself also missing during the event which is weird since the whole town is there. Peachy is also possible being a descendant of Momotaro (the original story inspired this Pokémon episode) so there’s a chance the re’s a story passing down like Kieran and Carmine’s family. Or what if Peachy herself is the Momotaro I mentioned because the story went as an old couple found a boy in a peach flowing through the river so they adopted him and name him Momotaro which mean peach boy. Drayton came from a rich old family possible related with Hassel OT’s teacher so it’s’ possible he heard something. And he’s been in senior for 3 years basicly stuck in the same grade ever since Carmine joined the school. Anyway… I’m just waiting for Area 0’s left side to be open and learn what’s going on there
Pecharunt can't directly control people while in its dormant state, but it does seem to be able to influence them. Kieran was already in a frame of mind where he felt betrayed and helpless, and Pecharunt's influence magnified those feelings and his greed to become powerful. It set him on the path he followed in the second half of Teal Mask and in Indigo Disk, but what he did once he was on that path was all him. And he was also holding the Teal Mask when he punched the shrine. The combination of Pecharunt's influence and the mask's power was what resurrected the Loyal Three.
My theory is that Kerian's "toxic" energy, along with the powers of the mask brought the lousy three back to life. Or they time traveled. The crystals and the turtle's power messes with time after all.
I think Pecharunt tried to take Kieran but he can't be puppeted by Pecharunt because what he wants is to be loved. Pecharunt can give out brawn, brains, and beauty, but it can't give Kieran that. What I don't understand is why Pecharunt wanted everyone to dance.
I never wanted Kieran to be possessed but I thought having Pecharunt act like the Venom symbiote on Spider-man and amplifying his preexisting emotions would've been sweet. Especially with ALL the teasing and evidence gamefreak put in to make us think that. Like it almost feels like that was their plan and they scrapped it all last second. It would've been so cool for Kieran to pull out Pecharunt as his ace in the BB league champion battle or as a 7th pokemon because he couldn't accept defeat and he became a super boss battle. Still my fav SV character though
I saw an interesting observation recently about how the final part of the false legend of Ogerpon can actually apply to Pecharunt as well. I'm paraphrasing, but the final part of the legend is a warning. If you go out to the mountains, you should wear a mask. If you see someone wearing a mask out there, you better hope that's another human and not the ogre. Because bad things will happen to you if the ogre sees you when you're not wearing a mask. And if you think about it, technically, Pecharunt is wearing a mask of some sort. It's always hiding inside its peach-shaped shell. And if you meet Pecharunt while you're not wearing a mask, then your mouth is exposed and Pecharunt can feed you mochi just like what happened to Arven and Penny.
My question still remains is the Loyal/Lousy Three under Pecharunt's control too or is somehow influencing them? They all have Malicious Chain and have some sort of attire that looks similar to Pecharunt. I'm sure this has all been explained someplace else and I missed it, but I still wonder.
also something i personally noticed when fighting pecharunt was its little signature move, which looks like the same chain thing the "loyal three" wear, and pecharunt has one line in specific it plays for every single one of those three when u send them out, so i think thats where they got their power in the first place, and the line is pecharunt saying "you traitor" since they are now our pokemon. hope it helps yall theorize bc i cant theorize at all no matter how much evidence ya give me. i just add to the convo when i can
While I do agree with you Ttar, it still doesn't explain how the loyal three got their toxic chain. Pecharunt dex entries currently only mentions mochi, not the toxic chain. I have a sneaking suspicion that Pecharunt is like Hoopa and has another form that can even use the toxic chain to control people and pokemon.
No, I can see that making sense! Some of Peacharunt's dark aura entered Kieran, though not possessing him. I also think it was only just influencing Kieran to revive the " Loyal " Three.
I approve of the "influenced but not possessed" theory - ESPECIALLY going back to Teal Mask and seeing that Pecharunt had been there (in dormant form), and that Kieran had been in the same vicinity as it at a critical point. I'd also like to add though, I suspect dormant-Pecharunt didn't have any sort of plan when it infected Kieran with its aura; just, it feels totally in-character for it to toss out a bit of aura purely in service of "let's see what happens."
My theory was that oecharunt tries to influence people and help them in a malicious way if they are envious and harbour bad feelings towards others. The lousy three were envious of Ogerpon and wished for more strength beauty and brains, kiefen wished to be a stronger trainer. The lousy three don’t seem to be possessed either but rather influenced by pecharunt without mindcontrol being a factor (because of the chain)
My personal theory is Peachrunt was originally a human who bonded with the prechain loyal three and fed them mythical pecha berries (like the momotaro story) when ogrepon first rocked up Pecharunt wanted to befriend ogrepon like kieran and give her a mythical pecha berry but she avoided him too and he died on onioni mountain with the mythical berry in hand and became a pokemon (like kadabra was once a person who woke up as a pokemon per its dex entry) and it was upset over its death and rejection so it sent the loyal three to attack Ogrepon after using all its toxic chains on the the loyal three (the reason they were effected as such was because of the mythical pecha berry) and fell dormant, it resonated with kierans anger as it was the same as its own and saw its opportunity in Kieran to resurrect the loyal three to take revenge then resurrect itself using them to search for a mythical pecha berry but we get in the way of that and stop the loyal three
So my thought is that the legend behind pecharunt talks about how its aura brings out a person's hidden desires. So it makes sense that Kieran could have been influenced by the aura even if not possessed. It did bring out his inner strength and desire to become stronger. It opened up a whole different side of him. just how the loyal three gained their desires through the toxic chains. I think that is what the aura was really showing.
Honestly i kinda wish i was able to give Kieran, Pecharunt, he knows well enough about it to not get possessed by it and they could be great friends since they both had emotional turmoil
Also in the DLC his look is a bit pecharuntish hair colour is pink under and with a pecharunt shaped hair tie also his head is a little bit pecharunt shaped, his newer design was pecharunt inspired at the very min might've been done to make us think that once the DLC was revealed or leaked
I have a theory, since pecharunts poison brings out greed as stated in the lore vid, and how in BB academy and after you lie to him he only wants to get stronger, and since he stole a mask like okidogi & fezidipiti did, what if he's not possessed but slightly affected by the poison, if it was a small change it would also kinda explain how he had his lil development arc near then end of the indigo disk
I really like this theory, but I'd like to add on to it. While in it's dormant state, Pecharunt managed to begin influencing Kieran ever-so slightly. This helped him make the decision to steal the Teal Mask, and later head to the shrine. There, when Kieran punched the shrine, the aura appearing indicates the influence Pecharunt stored in him escaping into the shrine, allowing Pecharunt to tug on the chains once more and revive the Loyal Three
I have a theory pecharunt needed Terra energy but it was to weak to get it himself so it possessed the loyal three to get the masks of ogrepon (bc the masks have Tera crystals on them) they succeeded with getting three of the four masks but ogrepon stopped them before they could get the masks back to pecharunt when Kieran punched the shrine the poison took over him too that’s why he was determined to get terapagos.
This is what I thought was going on too, wish Game Freak would give us more info on Pecharunt's relationship with Ogerpon and the Loyal Three, we still don't really know what happened back then and why it happened. Guess we gotta we gotta wait a decade lol
I think Pecharunt granted Kieran his greatest desires, like it did for the Loyal Three. Whatever that desire, likely to become a powerful trainer, sets into motion the revival of the loyal three because that makes Kieran a stronger trainer.
I dont know about the aura, but my theory is that when keiren punched the shrine and the purple beam struck it was for another reason. Think back to galar when eteurinutus was resurrected, i think that it was throwing out the beams to dynamax pokemon and one landed in kitakami somehow and because dynamax doesn't work in other regions, i resurrected the dead bodies there. I dont know where kitakami is but the uk is pretty close to spain so its a possibility
I feel like Pecharunt as you mentioned, somehow influenced Kieran. Yet I belive the aura manifested as strongly in him because the moment that Kieran changed he started following his "greed" about the whole stealing the mask and being somewhat self centered. The moment he punched the shrine that force of energy dissipated, yet I'm not saying he got influenciated by the pokemon, but I think that what the purple aura was meant to say it's the *desires* that woke up the *potential* of him to become what he strongly belived he wanted, wich was to become stronger. Basically not exactly about Pecharunt posession but more in the fact that the purple aura meant to represent the desire part wich is the main pokemon power to posess. Hence that's why Kieran got the power to wake up the trio, not because he was possesed but because his desires manifested too strongly (thanks to Pecharunt) that they were able to come back.
LOL We've been laughing at this convo since realizing he's not possessed but NAH my dudes there's something to figure out here! This is just my theory let me know if there's any holes in it!
He’s the imposter
The way I see, Pecharunt subconscious produces toxic energy that influences certain emotions in that weakened state. It was only able to amplify Kieran's negative state, but only that much.
Maybe it was Mochi that brought the Loyal three back? Certain Mochi powered up the loyal three so maybe something similar revived them and the “aura” was Mochi powder. Idk
Another dlc?
Yeah, I like to believe the energy was a cause of something else
true. maybe pecharunt is in charge of the loyal 3 and kieren literally just accidentally woke pecharunts aura and the loyal 3
@@grydon6422 I just think the loyal three sensed and fed on his darker energy that’s all imo
@@grydon6422 It is possible pecharunt tried but since it was dormant its powers were weaker
I don't think Kieran was ever possessed, my guess is that Pecharunt maybe influenced him somehow to trick him into reviving the Lousy Three. Maybe because Pecharunt was asleep his mind control wasn't as powerful as it is in the epilogue, and it didn't take control Kieran, but used his emotions to hopefully bring the Lousy Three back to life.
bro how? you only get controlled when you eat the mochi and pecharunt aimed and threw a mochi at his mouth he just got lucky.
@@goldbergvids I'm not saying he was only mad because of Pecharunt, but that Pecharunt played off of those emotions to his favor
This actually makes sense?
Keiran rejected pecharunt by punching it
The only correct answer.
Relatable
NUH UH🤜🏻
Honestly I would do the same except going into an emo phase and pushing everyone away and acting like a jerk
Pecharunt definitely instigated Keiren when he became vulnerable, even though it wasn’t really controlling him it definitely influenced him
Also maybe that influence lingered for a little bit as Kieran dyed his hair red and folded it in the shape of Pecharunt.
Now they're called The "Lousy Three" by Carmine
My original thought was that Keiran was never possesed. The aura on his fist was from the aura embedded in the shrine, since the loyal three were under pecharunt's influence. So it was just the punch itself that disturbed the shrine and caused them to awaken, especially with him holding the teal mask they were originally after.
That was what I thought anyway, until I was reminded that he had the aura in the promotional art as well... 🤔
i'm a firm believer in pecharunt being an opportunistic bully, taking advantage of other's weaknesses and their fears, desires, and ambitions. like you said in the DLC yourself it seems that it was dormant until it steals the mythical pecha berry, so it isnt at full power nor able to make mochi. but it IS still powerful enough to use kieran's feelings to resurrect the loyal three, especially since it can probably sense Ogrepon is finally active around town more and it took the opportunity to revive the three through influence. i love this
the weirdest part of all this is that pecharunt’s pokédex entries say that eating the mochi brings out the persons innermost desires which is exactly how kieran was acting in the indigo disk, but not at all how the villagers were acting in the epilogue
but they are also chained to pecharunts Will and pecharunt wanted them to bird dance
I like Gamefreak basically foreshadowed the epilogue before it came out, yet we didn’t expect everyone to be possessed BUT Kieran.
I noticed when fighting Kieran during the indigo disk unless my eyes were fooling me either during the cutscene before the fight or when the “you are challenged by Kieran” there is a purple aura around his hand. Might have just seen things tho 😅
I caught Pecharunt in a master ball because it looked like pecharunt. No regrets.
Same
I did a dream ball cause I didn't have any master balls
Same
I was temped to. I didn't
Same before 5 now 4 master ball
I think it's also important to notice that the Lousy three are under Peacharunt's influence but Peacharunt might not be in total control of them, I mean, their eyes aren't purple, there's no purple aura and they aren't dancing, so perhaps peacharunt is able to influence whoever searches for more power in a selfish manner without the need of feeding them mochis, even if it isn't total mind control
my favorite thing about this epilogue is that we all thought kieran was possessed, and he ended up the only one NOT being possessed lmao
So while the Loyal Three did actually die and were buried, I imagine their spirits were bound to the shrine waiting to be unleashed once more
One thing to note, when Kieran resurrects the Loyal Three, a Dynamax-like beam shoots from the ground… 🤔🤔
I don't think it's meant to be like dynamax
I think that as Kieran was stood near the stand Pecharunt was slowly regaining more power and so when Kieran was angry and hurt Pecharuny took advantage of this and used like mind control to get Kieran to revive the loyal three but in the moch madness dlc pecharunt was fully recovered and thats why everyone eas screaming mochi
Also after the DLC i fed my pecharunt one of the purple mochis for stats and my game crashed and i found that really funny 😂
lol i love how timed the crash is
i think the game didnt want to confuse itself with pecharunt eating a mochi the same colour as what it uses to possess people, so it didnt deal with it well, try using someting else to boost those stats...
From WebMD, Kieran seems to have the following symptoms of mania:
* A happy, high mood
* Crankiness/touchiness
* Feeling jumpy, wired, or extra active
* Feeling extra important, talented, powerful, or capable of doing a lot
* Less need for sleep
He may also have racing thoughts or lots of ideas, but we can't see into his head, of course. He also seems to have the following symptoms of depression:
* Feeling sad, anxious, or down
* Restlessness
* Trouble making decisions
* Problems sleeping
* Less interest in activities
* Hopelessness or worthlessness
Once again, we can't see his thoughts, but he may also be forgetful or have thoughts of death or suicide.
Yap Yap yap
I think I know why Kieran was able to resurrect the loyal three maybe it was cause he was in possession of the teal mask when punching the statues. The game briefly mentions that the teal mask has healing properties on the signpost near the kitakami hall.
This is exactly my thought process, I have no doubts that the actual revival was due to the Teal Mask
I just found out the only one not possessed by peacharunt is peachys during that whole zombie part
nurse joy, peachy, jacq, and purrin actually LOL
Found out u can't call pecharunt dokutaro. No clue why game freak wouldn't allow it
I named it Doku-Taro
@Foxy-7182I've been told that the word "kut" is an expletive in another language. That could be why.
I still think it’s interesting the purple beam is the same as the dynamax beam
I liked the possession theory, but it being more like the Venom Suit from Spider-Man 3. It's still Kieran, but his impulsive and dangerous emotions are strengthened.
Pecharunt in the lore: grants people and pokemon wishes like some kind of evil genie but binds them to its will to become its corrupted servants
Pecharunt in-game: chicken dance + thriller
Kerian is obviously a God of destruction
what I'm hearing is that Peacharunt rode Kieran like an uber lol
I think Pecharunt might have imposed its will on Kieran somehow via its smell, because when you interact with it after catching Terapagos (don't know if this dialogue can happen before), it says "It's an old plush, it smells sweet".
Has anybody interacted with Amarys in the club after the end of the Epilogue?
She mentions that Kieran changes after meeting “us” in Kitakami for the first time, but doesn’t believe our presence was what caused this change…
Leading me to believe Kieran truly was under the influence of Pecharunt (not possessed) and having an in game character reference that it wasn’t just what happened to him was what caused his change in personality
I think It's the reverse, where Kieran's desire for Ogrepon is what awoke Pecharunt and the Loyal Three feeding Pecharunt's power
HABBABAA
I was actually gonna email you something similar to this, good work.
I mean come on his hair tie even looks like the toxic chain there's no way they didn't change their plans
Heyy ttar…can you look into the abyssal ruins of undella town in unova and connect it with the ancient hero teased in legends arceus
The promo art aura is different it could be used to show his rage.
My question still remains is the Loyal/Lousy Three under Pecharunt's control too or is somehow influencing them? They all have Malicious Chain and have some sort of attire that looks similar to Pecharunt. I'm sure this has all been explained someplace else and I missed it, but I still wonder.
also something i personally noticed when fighting pecharunt was its little signature move, which looks like the same chain thing the "loyal three" wear, and pecharunt has one line in specific it plays for every single one of those three when u send them out, so i think thats where they got their power in the first place, and the line is pecharunt saying "you traitor" since they are now our pokemon. hope it helps yall theorize bc i cant theorize at all no matter how much evidence ya give me. i just add to the convo when i can
It just hit me that the toxic chains look like they are made of Pecharunt’s mochi.
My personal theory is Peachrunt was originally a human who bonded with the prechain loyal three and fed them mythical pecha berries (like the momotaro story) when ogrepon first rocked up Pecharunt wanted to befriend ogrepon like kieran and give her a mythical pecha berry but she avoided him too and he died on onioni mountain with the mythical berry in hand and became a pokemon (like kadabra was once a person who woke up as a pokemon per its dex entry) and it was upset over its death and rejection so it sent the loyal three to attack Ogrepon after using all its toxic chains on the the loyal three (the reason they were effected as such was because of the mythical pecha berry) and fell dormant, it resonated with kierans anger as it was the same as its own and saw its opportunity in Kieran to resurrect the loyal three to take revenge then resurrect itself using them to search for a mythical pecha berry but we get in the way of that and stop the loyal three
Did you notice the pokemon center nurse had the purple eyes the whole time though?
Maybe that Vulpix on top of Peachy's place is guarding or using Imprison on Pecharunt lol/o/
I think someone at GF wasa big troll, well played!
I kinda like how they didn't outright say Pecharunt's connections
I really like this theory, but I'd like to add on to it.
While in it's dormant state, Pecharunt managed to begin influencing Kieran ever-so slightly. This helped him make the decision to steal the Teal Mask, and later head to the shrine. There, when Kieran punched the shrine, the aura appearing indicates the influence Pecharunt stored in him escaping into the shrine, allowing Pecharunt to tug on the chains once more and revive the Loyal Three
I mean, who Sealed the Ruin Treasures, Pecharunt and his toys. There is currently no Pokemon with that Power in Paldea.
Why y’all ignore the fact that Peacherunt reacts to the loyal three and Ogrepon while battling him
Instead of the aura coming from Kieran I feel like it was coming from the shrine itself
Pronounced peh-cha runt. Like the pecha berry. The pkmn equivalent of a peach
This is what I thought was going on too, wish Game Freak would give us more info on Pecharunt's relationship with Ogerpon and the Loyal Three, we still don't really know what happened back then and why it happened. Guess we gotta we gotta wait a decade lol
What if Peachrunt was brought back to life by Kerryan's intense desire to be strong?
i did the interaction with ogrepun vs pecharunt its so cool.
I think Pecharunt granted Kieran his greatest desires, like it did for the Loyal Three. Whatever that desire, likely to become a powerful trainer, sets into motion the revival of the loyal three because that makes Kieran a stronger trainer.
Maaaan say what yiu want about gen 9 buy I really enjoyed it the dlc was great I'm kinda sad that's it now gotta wait until gen 10 now
theory; Kieran and Pecharunt are slightly the same like Ogerpon and Kieran!
Has anyone else been grooving nonstop to the “Possessed Trainer Theme”? 🤭💃🏽🕺🏿
Kieran microdosed on Pecharunt's influence and built a tolerance 🤪
