Where do you live that you have scorpions?

Scorpions are immune to their own venom. FYI.

1). First, can it charge under the patio with no direct sun?
2). Batteries that run 24 hrs. cost more money than the product over a short time. If charged without solar, will batteries last a while?
3). Usage for flies. I don't care about the night critters (mosquitos, moths), but only flies during the day on my patio. Can they be timed to only come on at dawn and go off at dusk?
4). Should we be concerned that it will kill friendly animals/insects like bees, lizards and frogs? What solution have you found to help eliminate this? Perhaps some smaller-hold mesh wire around the unit so just small insects like mosquitoes, flys, moths can enter through adapted smaller holes? What idea have you folks come up with as a solution because it's one of the dangers/disappoints at this point to use electronic to "throw the baby out with the dishwater?" Thanks
