I am 65 years old. My Dad was a car restorer and old car parts dealer from 1962 to his passing in 2002. I have tried just about every kind of wax there is it seems. But I always seem to come back to a quality carnuba wax. For me it's Meguirs #26 Yellow. Some of my old cars have old paint jobs and #26 seems to cover a multitude of sins. Meaning I see less of the imperfections in the paint. I wax only once a quarter, depending on how much it is in the elements, and if there is car show coming up. But once a year, or so, I strip the wax off with Meguirs Cleaner wax #1, or something similar. I have a buffer, but I prefer to do it by hand. It helps me to see and feel all the little imperfections so I can work on those specific areas. I know it's old school but it works for me. These days I have to use someone else's hands. I have a former employee and now friend, who comes and helps me.
Makes sense. Older cars benefit from Carnuba since they lack a modern clearcoat, or cars whose clearcoat has degraded. Modern clearcoats see no real benefit from a carnuba and benefit more from a good synthetic.
Wait..im confused you said you use the meguiars cleaner wax to strip the wax off? I thought that was a wax??? I just used it to wax my cadillac...I love that stuff.

@@junkiexl86 I wouldn't say Carnauba is pointless. It does provide a warmer and deeper gleam or shine on modern clearcoats than the Synthetic. I have used both gold class and Ultimate on my car and looks are quite different.
The ultimate has more of a wet shiny look, the gold has a richer look. I prefer the Gold. Who cares about how the water beads bro? It's about the look.
the main difference between the two is that one is a synthetic wax and the other is a carnauba wax -the synthetic wax will last longer and you will need to apply it less often. which is probably why it cost more, because a can will last you longer. -the carnauba wax is a natural wax and will wash off quicker then lets say a synthetic wax. Which is why its cost less, because you'll have to buy more of it sooner then a synthetic wax. as for the performance of the two ill say they are about if not the same, with the exception of the carnauba wax giving your a paint more of a deep gloss or "wet" look. which is why a lot of people use carnauba wax before a show.

I’ve used all 3. Cleaner wax, gold class, and ultimate. The cleaner wax leaves the best finish to me because it has some polishing agents that smooth out small imperfections in the paint. It only lasts around 1-2 months though, not nearly as long as the ultimate.

In my experience, the carnubra waxes are the most durable ,,,,
Synthetic will normally be more durable. Carnauba wax will normally have a slightly warmer shine to it but not last as long.
@@DavidStillman78 buddy, if i finish the gold class wax with th sonax brilliant detailer, is it good? In Indonesia, the weather is si fluctuative dan extreme, it's a trophycal country,
@@muhammadaswin8016 You’ll probably fine for darker coloured cars the ultimate has a slight edge. Ultimate will also last longer (especially in hotter climates). But these differences are minimal, they are both very good waxes. Just make sure the paint is as clean as it can be before applying and you only need a small amount. Applying too much wax means it won’t cure, a thin layer is all you need. You can use the detailed as a drying aid or for maintenance .
@@DavidStillman78 very informative brother, hopefully you always healthy, and i'm your friend
How long does each one last ?
Ultimate 4/5 months and the gold class a month. Wax is not worth it anymore
La cera no esta bien aplicada.
you went with ultimate based on beans....
Yes
Go Meguiars #26 Mirror Glaze Hi-tech Yellow Wax. .... is Best!
Michael C. It is good! But the ultimate has better hydrophobic properties
Professional Automotive Detailing The Ultimate hydroponic properties did not impress me.
Only it's ability to apply in direct sunlight.
Michael C. It also last longer. Meguiar's m26 is just an older formula at this point
Professional Automotive Detailing So what it's older. Will ultimate be on the market as long or will the replace it like the Tech Wax 2.0. #26 lasts 6 months ... that's all you need.
That moment you get shut down. lol
how do you remove old wax? just applying the pharmacy alcohol?
Bloated Tony Danza Isopropyl alcohol I bought mine online though. 50/50 with water
Professional Automotive Detailing thanks for the reply dude.
wash it with dish soap to remove all grease. then wash it with shampoo and then wax it.
PLEASE NO! Don't wash anything with dish soap other than dishes. Meguiar's Wash Plus should remove much of, if not all, the old wax and really does a good job of cleaning your car. Chem. Guys makes another product that supposedly cleans wax off but I haven't used it. I'm sure there are other products. It astounds me that so many basically allege that breathing on the car will scratch the paint but blindly follow the idea that using a product designed for another purpose is fine. Will dish soap mar your paint? I don't know but why take the chance when there are better products out there. It certainly doesn't help.
Dawn is perfectly fine for removing wax
they look bout the same
detailer king he has horrible reviews. ive witnessed one in person. Totally biased
I use the Ultimate on my '17 Cruze, great stuff. Though I let it cure for 24 hours before buffing it off. Curious how this stuff compares to their Tech Wax 2.0 Paste? I was using the liquid Tech Wax 2 and the crap would be gone after 2 rainstorms, regardless of the thickness of application.
Have not tried tech wax 2.0. love the ultimate... New favorite is the hybrid ceramic wax from meguiars... Will make a video of that soon
If it smells like Elmer's paste, I'll take two, one for the car and one for lunch.
Lol
Update: I've been using Meguiar's Ultimate Paste Wax for 3 years. Holy cow, it is THE best I've ever used. Turtle Wax is a close second.
What's better?
Ultimate
Hi Buddy,

Please Suggest Me Which Carnuba Wax Will Be Best For Car Paint protection so that the car paint remains safe for a long time ?
Because It's Very Valuable For Me.
Please Suggest Can I Go With
1) Meguiar Ultimate Liquid Wax
2) Meguiar Ultimate Paste Wax
3) Turtle Super Hard Shell Wax
4) Turtle Ceramic Graphene
5) Meguiar Mirror Glaze 26
Or is there someone better than these
I Have A Lot Of Faith On You.
Thanks In Advance
Number 5 is going to be the besr
Dope review bro. I know what i want know. Thank you
Good video
not diference....
If u do it once a month ur good to go
good video buddy
The differences are so minimal. And for the difference in price, ultimate isn’t worth it.
No that is not true. The ultimate lasts way longer
Professional Automotive Detailing I enjoy detailing my car. So I wax once a week anyway. Clay bar once a quarter. And polish once a year.
Steve Protoss why do you clay you car so much? Is kept outside all the time?
i mean its been repeated over and over in the comments but again.....one lasts much longer than the other.
You supposed to use circular motion
Leslie Ramos striaght lines so if something gets on the applicator pad the scratch will be easier to remove
Professional Automotive Detailing That is a car detailer's secret
hard to tell a differance
Thanks for watching! The ultimate paste lasts longer in the end. You will easily get 3 months of protection. And if you take care of it you can get 6 months
Love the commenters that attack the products from Meguires with unbased claims then immediately pitches a competing product. lol
It’s all the same just some are easier to use
Turtle vs Mequiar which is better
Real Steel Meguiars
Professional Automotive Detailing Thank you
Wax your car, leave it in the shed for a week then buff it off - you'll be amazed
Leave it on?
Lol no. Just no.
My observations is just the opposite. 😄😄
I am 53 years old have owned and maintained beautiful looking cars all my life and have never been instructed to apply anything in that manner. CIRCULAR MOTIONS for application and removal.
wax on, wax off
aren't you supposed to apply the wax in circular motion?
thegoldenboy294 I do recommend it. because if any dirt gets on the surface you make it harder to remove the scratchs later.
thegoldenboy294 you only really need to apply in a circular motion if you’re using a “cleaning wax” which you’d normally use if you haven’t clay bar’d your car in a while. Other than that if you’ve clay bar’d you car there’s really not point in circular motion it’s all preference
I Agree!!! Thanks for watching
No diference what so ever and the right one looks beter to me
