She was probably nervous! I'm not even really a fan of women's basketball, or a wild femnazi or anything crazy like that. But I can see why women are so angered by male critics from these comments alone! Y'all are bringing up equal pay, and talking how the men would've done xy&z better. When that argument wasn't even started by women NCAA player. But by the Pro WNBA players. A lot of you guys are projecting your own insecurities on female players and it shows wow!
If you watch the play, she caught the ball near half court. She tried to beat her defender with a crossover and it didn’t free up enough space. By then there wasn’t enough time to pass with 3 defenders. The pass will likely get deflected or her teammate wouldn’t have time to catch and shoot. At least her desperation shot gave them a slight chance.
If girl in the corner would've cut to the basket she had a layup for the win. But she just stood there.
Exactly, it would’ve been two on one, if the girl at the baseline helped, pass it, and you still get a layup. Down one, and trying for a three...why🤦🏾♂️

I loved at the end how quickly Coach Adia Barnes came onto the Court like a Mother hen to gather a devastated Aari McDonald and her teammates to herself to console and encourage them, and show how proud she was of them. Coach Barnes and her Wild Cats will definitely be back again to the Finals.
Loved the game. I'm not a fan of letting a team drain the clock and hope for a miss and that out of bounds play . For all the marbles that's the best play they could run.... Yikes
This game looked amazing
Haley Jones played a superb game. Nothing flashy, but she just always seemed to make the right play whether it be pass or driving for the high percentage shot. She didn't force anything either. I think there was like one bad pass she made and that's it.
Depth, size, and 3pt shooting put Stanford over the top.
This the first women’s game I ever watched from start to finish and it didn’t disappoint 💯

It helps if someone moves. 4 players standing still watching. Move to the open spot and give her a passing lane. Stanford didn't do any better on their last possession. Wait till 7 seconds really? It's a lot easier to play defense when they know you have to shoot because your out of time and your team is standing.

Omg the last play by Stanford for the shot clock violation then the following play by Arizona. I'm shocked by that gameplay as to why no one watches women's basketball. It's low key the best unintentional comedy on the planet.

The last play had to be ran wrong, pick 1 didn't create contact or separation. There was no dive to the basket, pick the picker or any action after the inbounds. The 5 never pulled her defender in any direction!

Well if you are being tripled team you are always told taught to know that means someone is open. Plus with limited fans her teammates should have been communicating. Plus with six second you should know that you have enough time to get multiple dribbles and passes. McDonald is incredibly talented and she will learn from this because she is good and will be in this game for a long time. Still, she should have and could have passed the ball

It’s easy to say pass to your two open teammates, but in that pressure situation it’s tough to be poised. maybe the play they were supposed to run got busted and she panicked.

What a game
Definetly props for stanford. For a guy that has never seen womens college basketball, this was pretty dang entertaining. Now that said, you still cant compare this to mens college. I definetly wouldnt say im better at basketball then these girls, but me as a spectator, still find mens college more appealing. (Note that i said MORE appealing, not appealing, but more appealing).

McDonald has to make the pass but the player has to come up, make noise, and be visible too.
Players usually do what their coaches say, so probably thank the coach for the last play. Teams need not just to relay on one player.
Look what level she’s on, probably the second hardest league in women basketball and the coach has to teach a player to kill a play in favor of the better shot? That’s all on the player

I was watching this game while getting a haircut. 1 problem I notice with both teams is that their passing is predictable.
This game showed why they don't get paid the same. The lack of athleticism and sloppiness made it hard to watch. These are the two best teams in the nation? AZ showed grittiness on Defense but they were limited on Offense outside of Aari. Stanford was super timid and sloppy w/the ball all game especially Williams. They should of loss bc of how scary they were to dribble and attack but somehow lucked up.
Don’t talk down on these women like that & besides this is college ball- still lots to learn before going pro-
