Turns out there is a reason I don't regularly find new friends. Today we find out how me enjoying or not enjoying watching people arguing determines how good of human beings we are.

I did that 16 personalities test and I got debater as well, My teacher from college told us to take this couple years ago and that’s where I took it
My teacher also thought that if we took the test in private versus other people watching over us we would get different results but for me I don’t care

I think it's a bit different than that. The UK oppressed Ireland for the longest time and they still claim ownership over the Northern part (So, the Republic of Ireland doesn't have the best relationship with the UK, but they still use British English with their own differences). The US and Canada are like siblings (we may say we hate each other or crack some nasty jokes about the other, but we actually love each other :D) and haven't ruled over the other. Also, American English is a whole other dialect, so there has to be a separation between US and UK English; Canada more or less uses American English with its own spin on the dialect.

I think there's a fine line b/w who you are and what are genuinely faults in your character that need working on. If you're obsessed with collecting funko pops then it's not a flaw as long as it doesn't get in the way of anything else you're doing. If you're so obsessed with collecting funko pops that you're beginning to make big sacrifices in the name of collecting more then that means it is now a flaw. this can also be attributed to when a part of your character is hurting others like if you act condescending towards servers in restaurants then it is a genuine flaw that you need to shed.
apologies for the long rant. I just found this to be a profoundly interesting point of discussion.

16 personalities is really bad for MBTI! I do think you're an ENTP, but their definition of ENTP as just "likes to argue" is really weird. They're more of a visionary, ambiverted and a little scatterbrained. They like new things and ideas, as well as meeting a lot of different people. Some ENTPs do end up insensitive, but a lot work on their empathy through life and are able to connect with other's feelings while usually not being overly emotional themselves.

exactly what i was gonna say, 16 personalities doesn’t really take into account well developed feeling/thinker functions for all types so it makes types seem either too sensitive or too harsh
He’s an enfp that’s why. Enfp and entps both have high Ne but enfp has fi as their second function stack whereas entp has ti. Both like to experiment and create chaos (what could happen) but kevin really likes to be wholesome and friendly towards others. His main purpose is to make others laugh and feel good about themselves which is more enfp. He likes to connect with other people compared to debating them and has a warm welcoming aura around him. Both types can be seen as logical since enfp has te in their third stack too and that’s what makes them good storytellers and comedians.
Ah but Kevin seems to have Fe not Fi, he is more concerned with the happiness of the group than ensuring he is in tune with his own feelings. ENTPs are gregarious and concerned with what others think, Fi is very noticeably self-focused. The debater stereotype is a misnomer - heated discussions are a means to learn more about a topic, rather than always purely trolling (although that’s definitey a component)

@@MartinFinnerup I mostly agree. The statement “facts don’t care about your feelings” is obviously true in that objective facts don’t change just because they’re uncomfortable to digest. The issue is that in recent years, it’s been used by people to justify horrendous conclusions that skew the facts in the name of “truth”. Facts are objective, but the ultimate conclusion and decisions you come to based on it can be very different. Feelings always play a role in decision making because humans react both rationally and emotionally. I just appreciated that he was very measured and balanced in his response and didn’t discount the importance of empathy :) sorry for this very long comment, have a great day!!

@@matthewevans5758 I've done the test twice and I've gotten both however the test i did truthfully (alone) I got ENTP even though I felt that I answered truthfully both times. So i think they are very similar.

And, generally speaking, I think they encourage people to be more understanding with each other. They show that having different approaches to life is OK.

Dude! For months I've been thinking you're an ENTP, but hadn't seen this video till now. That site tends to give the stereotype of different personalities. ENTP's are a lot more nuanced than what is presented there. Look up ENTP's cognitive functions and that is a doorway to finding more knowledge and understanding if you're interested. Personality Hacker Podcast is a great resource as well. BTW, My wife and I really enjoy watching your videos. Keep up the great work!

It was explained to me by someone who actually studied a bit of the meyers-briggs personality test why its not that great because it tends to do this where it's trying to pigeon hole everyone into very specific categories that may entirely change depending on your mood and your energy at the time you take the quiz. There's other personality tests that focus on more of the strengths you have instead of trying to categorize everyone.
I took the visual test and it tagged me as 96% neurotic.

This has been my experience, and the reason I put little credence in personality tests. As I scan thru the descriptions for their proprietary categories, I see a few points in each one that apply to me, and several in each that DON'T apply to me. So when I go thru the test I get pigeonholed into a type with aspects that are totally not me, no matter what category I get rated into. The fact that the questions on most of these tests require solidly binary answers for complex and nuanced questions doesn't help.
There are definitely pros and cons to all typology tests. I just want to say that the test Kevin did isn't actually MBTI. It's called NERIS. It's a model that 16Personalities created themselves.

Honestly this makes so much sense. When you watch TLC vids you're always Devil's Advocate for something doing something you'd never do yourself, you go out of your way to play games the most chaotic way, you're quick to crack jokes. I actually did not expect you to be extroverted!
I've taken the 16 personalities test once every few years and it's really interesting to see how the results change over time. I don't think I've ever gotten the same result.

Loved the game. Used to play it on PS2, but I'm still haunted by those little teal fuckers.
@@brophaner I used to go to this place at a grocery store, basically where parents could leave their children while they shopped, and they had this TV in the back with a PS2. I would never communicate with the other children, just play this game every time I came. Never got very far as I could only be there for 30-45 minutes, but it was truly a highlight of my childhood.

Although I agree he's ENTP the 16p result is just a wild coincidence lmao, that test is terrible. And I think his Ne-Fe is pretty clear to me. Being empathetic is not just a feeler trait. He's just not the annoying big-brain debate-freak stereotype (which most of real life ENTP's also aren't)
I’ve been tested several times as an ENTP, but I have developed my Fe (empathy) quite a bit since I was 20. As we age we should develop and strengthen all 8 functions and grow as a person so this just shows that Kevin has done that and he is emotionally healthy.
The MBTI functions and info page is like a starting line, if you fit fully into that box, then you are unhealthy.

The main reason this seems off for you is because ENTPs functions are Ne Ti Fe Si, you are an ENFP which shares that same really strong Ne so you relate to those a lot, but when it beats in Ti, it's wrong because your functions are Ne Fi Te Si, which you can search up if you like. A better test for this type of thing would either be Truity or Sakinorva depending on how in depth you'd want to get with it. 16 personalities test measure the big 5 traits, not the mbti traits so it will mistype people a lot, as an INTP you don't seem like an xNTP, you have an ENTP persona online, but you seem more like an ENFP when you're genuine

Genuinely love and find it so helpful when someone lists their Myers Briggs classification because it allows me to immediately ignore their opinion on literally anything due to MBTI being completely devoid of science, thus saving myself a lot of time
