Building a Volkswagen Inspired Mini Bike in 11 Minutes

- It has all been building to this! The (actual) finale episode to the volkspod minibike build.
This build has been so fun and so popular i couldn't end it on the last episode.
I decided to take some of your suggestions and put a predator 212cc engine on it. Along with some other details light a battery to run the lights, white wall tires, a tail light, new handlebars, and a chain tensioner.
I will probably end up making some more modifications as time goes on. and ill most likely be posting those to my instagram.

- Hmmm - I'd _love_ to see a tiny mini trailer hitch, and then a tiny teardrop trailer (in keeping with the size of the bike of course!) The shape would compliment the bike bodywork. Heck, it may even be big enough to store a helmet when yer finished! LOL. I have got a suggestion , built another seat on the side with same VW fender style to make it cooler

I think the easiest add on that would improve your overall safety, would be a horn. Just a 'meep meep' sound so cars can know

If I didn't know better I would swear you are my Grandson. That's the kind of stuff I built in the 60's and 70's. I took a lot of criticism for some of my crazy ideas back then. But they were right on par with yours. Keep it up. I"m still building stuff.... The Pontoon Boat is what brought me here, and the Jet Ski is something I've been trying to get my youngest Grandson interested in building here in my shop in Texas. I even picked up a 400cc Burgman 3 weeks ago for the project.
One bit of advice, throw away the HF Pipe Bender and get a JD2'ed tubing bender. If you were closer I'd let you come out here and use mine.

Gets on a factory-engineered Minibike...Helmet. Gets on a Minibike that was chopped, heavily modified, untested, and re-welded back together on a milk crate...No Helmet! Great build!

this looks really cool, the only downside i see may be the fact that the chassi itself might be a bit too large in the middle for the legs but I'm not sure. Anyways, it looks really like something VW would build, in that regard its flawless.

Love it! I think building fender skirts to cover the sides would improve the looks a lot though.
The only thing that would make this even cooler is if you started with an earlier style fender/ headlight, with the snowflake style tail light

This moto scooter is absolute amazing and as I see, not so expensive and easy to build for a person with the right knowledge.

Now that you have chopped up 2 good VW fenders, you should make a fibreglass mould from the body and make them/sell them with instructions... VW Minibike Kit! - WINNING!!!

First of all great idea mate!
I would like to make a few sugestions if you allow me:
1. Leg space. as you have to split legs quite a bit you may reduce that part bending the metal (I don't know the word in english and forgive me if my english is to general)
2. Light in handdle and maybe Speed meter, you may add Light, mirrons and speed meter on the handdle, so you have one light always ahead and the other on the place you are turning. classic meters and 2 mirros you can make a carcase of the same material and color, it should be nice!
3. Chain Cover to avoid injuries.and as you have your legs closer to the engine, you may put a dover over the chain with the same color (maybe logo WW too) so you don't have to worry about putting your leg to close to the chain.
I really like your idea, and as I don't have the money or equipment in my country to make it real, I Hope you can do it!

She's a beauty! Only thing I'd like to see is a nice long exhaust pipe going out the back, so the exhaust note isn't resonating inside that fat little fender!
One thing I might add with that, is that a lot of those older VW'S had what was called a "fweep" muffler tip... not sure if you could install one on this and get a similar kind of sound.... :)

We have these wide wheel e-scooters that are very popular here in Netherlands. They look a bit like this. But with this kind of engine it wont be sold alot. All scooters these days are electric.
