I did the Threave Castle walk with my dad about 4 years ago but we didn't go to the house and gardens so, thank you for showing us round it. It looks wonderful 👽👍
Hi Dan & Mazzy, just re-watching this video and realised that we were here a few years ago but we did a nocturnal safari. We had night vision cameras and walked around the castle and grounds. We stood near the jetty looking at the castle and I remember saying that it looked like a smiley face through the camera. We saw various animals in the dark but our favourite was hedghog which looked like an alien through the camera. It was very wierd but a great experience. Thanks for bringing back some great memories.
Absolutely amazing Vlog, Fabulous around there isn't it Dan. My parents are from Stranraer we always used to go to Luce Bay and Sandhead. It holds such great memories for me. Port logan with its Botanical Gardens is a must view too. And further down Portpatrick and The Mull of Galloway is a photographer's dream. 👏👏
Still catching up on your fabulous Scottish videos Dan and Mazzy. I’ve visited Threave Castle. I believe there is a bat reserve there nowadays. You can spot the bats flying around at night. This is one of the many lovely old Scottish castles. A great video.
Dan and Mazzy im down from Highlands visiting family. In Dumfries and Castle Douglas. crikey may have drove past you . Like you im member of National Trust. You both would enjoy around campbeltown and Kintyre and then up coastal way to Ayr and Galloway forest Park. I think if you check the forestry commission are letting campers stop overnight in some of their car parks in the forestry worth checking out. Have a great time .
Dan, I have a look at hiplok. It’s a chain lock that you wear around your waist when cycling and then remove to secure the bikes. They come in different standards/prices for different insurance requirements with Sold Secure Gold being best. I have one for when I stop for a coffee and cake when cycling, great locks. Like your current locks, they are heavy duty but comfortable to wear when cycling. Bike thieves nowadays have battery powered grinders that can cut through most locks in seconds to minutes depending on quality.
I remember the long trek to see that castle and the boat across to get the water to see inside. I think the black Douglas fought along side Robert the Bruce
Wonderful video.. I really enjoyed having a tour around the beautiful gardens.. My Cottage is built around a Walled garden which is about 200 years old. I do the gardens on a private estate so as you can imagine your tour was just up my street.. 😀 Thank you for sharing ❤️
Seventh I think? Lol! Liked and shared! Love you two! 🙂😘 Wow! That was lovely! Scanned the qr code and listened to the contemplative music. Beautiful violin playing!🤗👍
Not a problem guys…you’re welcome. It was the start of October anyway, but hard to make arrangements if you’re planning as you go along and not certain where you’ll be. Offer’s there for another time if you’re in the Loch Lomond/ Argyllshire area. P 👍🏼
I watch all your videos, but I'm glad you're back to being travel trolls. Tho I like the met up videos also. You guys just have something that's nice to watch. Have fun
Glad to see your getting some good adventure mileage out of those bikes, the lock conundrum is often a problem, if you know your going to be at a site for a good few days get yourself some panniers or handle bar bags from Amazon, there are also some good phone holders, a friend of mine paid around £20 for a generic phone holder thats been robust enough to withstand 4 months (so far) on his motorbike and its also got a hole in the back for the camera too.
10:55 I would NOT trust that lock on bikes as expensive as those. If you google LiteLok you'll see a video from "LockPickingLawyer" on youtube (an extremely well trusted source of info on locks) where he cuts an extremely similar lock from the same manufacturer in less than 20 seconds. If you continue watching the video you'll also see how LiteLok basically lie in the advertising of their products.
@@TravelTrollsTV LockPickingLawyer made a video a couple of years ago where he said he uses the Kryptonite evolution series 4. The chain is strong enough that to cut it you basically have to have an angle grinder with a diamond wheel to get through it and the lock itself is good enough that you would need to be an extremely skilled lock picker to pick it.
@@TravelTrollsTV I agree with the other comment. Was gonna message myself. I have Kryptonite New York forgetaboutit lock and chain. yes weights alot but they shouldn't be taking anything. As a secondary lock I also use Kryptonite Evolution 1090 Chain. That's for 2 bikes at home I just use the second one when say at the pub and they closish by In view or popping in to shop for drink when out.
Thank you Mazzy and Dan for sharing your adventures with us. Beautiful!❤
Our pleasure!
I'm glad that you and Mazzy are enjoying the area.

When you are not using the locks, you could wrap them around the bike frame and 'lock' them to save having to carry them in your rucksack.
They dont wrap. Theyre sturdy.
Sounds like the lawn man is there Dan 😂
Don't worry you are saying Threave right. I live on Threave Close and you are pronouncing it just fine
