Nice to see a video with you back on tools Simon. Always honest, and always very informative. Need open a school offering courses mate, bet you'd get booked for those in the trade wanting to do it right. Obvs not trades ppl from Barnsley😉🤣🤣
Been watching your vids and guy called peter ward , sam im intrigued with both your methods and insights, i got a house and im told its from late 1800's and im looking for all the advice i can get
This is an awesome video. I have something similar happening to my chimney breast. Can you give a rough price on how much this costs? Sealed chimney behind plaster no gas or electric fire in front. Just plaster and paint.
They guarantee all their products and if there is suspected issue they will test them for a fee but the installer guarantees the job and 99% of the time it’s user error or misdiagnosis
This is a basic job made to look fancy,it doesn't need that system, salt neutralise and re render. We all want to make a living but there is nothing special here It's a cover over, salts must be neutralised and the cause identified. Bad practice that, sorry Sam,I'm not a hater,I enjoy your videos, but we both know this isn't needed, especially from a man who said 'anyone using k11 above ground doesn't know what they are doing' You have basically done the same.
Why do you say that tanking is not needed above ground, but this is very similar A polymer modified cementious adhesive, and a vapor barrier Isn't it the same principle? Waterproofing,as you said. Also, why is the chimney sulphate contaminated, has the cause been corrected.
This is a waterproof system which as iv mention loads is also an isolating system. Isolating systems are used to stop sulphate salts. Iv done vídeos on sulphate salts check them out
@@dampsam yes I agree, but wouldn't above ground tanking do the same? You were dead against waterproofing above ground. Wouldn't you use an anti sulphate, then a render, neutralise the salts first? What's to stop those sulphates breaking down the adhesive? It's just a tanking system, tanking being a generic term, and shouldn't the joints be taped? Did you identify the cause of the sulphate,e.g a chimney defect at roof level?

It’s in the pipeline Rich

That’s great, always do your due diligence and research.

No there are no fixed prices each job is different
Did you overlap around corner of stack? and internal angle to wall?
Can’t remember it’s a long time back
top real world video sam !
Thankyou Mark
How soon can you skim over it?
Next day
Hi what do I do if I haven't got even surfaces
Put the adheasive on even
Hi Sam, wondering about guarantees for customers? Can , will safeguard issue one if using their products? Cheers Ray , plasterer
They guarantee all their products and if there is suspected issue they will test them for a fee but the installer guarantees the job and 99% of the time it’s user error or misdiagnosis
Cheers Simon , thanks for reply. Much appreciated 👍🏻
Is there a m² cost for this product? Or would you just price it the same as any other and factor in the materials?
Thanks.
Iv never priced per m2 but I suppose you could work it out. We charge what we charge as its special stuff

Wouldn't it been easier to skim the whole chimney breast for the sake of what's left to save the effort of blending in. Cheers Sam
Was thinking the same better finish than patch finish no matter how good you are you will always see new plaster to old paint finish wall
Yes half a job a blend
You can do but I’m good at blending in and less is more
In the back of the net, that'll pay for your pork pies 🥧 and a cappuccino
Soy latte for me 👍
