OK I feel that the flower isn't about Lizzie, but is a callback to when Daryl gives Carol the Cherokee rose because of Sophia going missing. Anyone else feel that way?
Antwain Green the scene was resembling a scene back in season 1 and the walker girl that Rick was about to kill looks like the same walker little girl back in season 1
Ok, that makes some sense, BUT, remember when Eugene was a big deal because he learned how to make bullets? Now it seems there are more bullets than rocks on the floor, ridiculous.
I think the scene when rick says " my mercy prevails over my wrath " is at the end of the war and he's saying it to Negan after deciding not to kill him
After watching the mid season finale last night I had to comeback to this video. The analyzation and predictions about the Carl Death were so on point. Episode 1 makes total sense now.
I believe that he is standing over Morgan’s grave. Morgan’s death and his philosophy before the war started will change Ricks mind, and lead to him keeping Negan alive and locked in the cell
When the camera flew out from the place where Negan and Gabriel were trapped in, it was a clear nod to the scene when Rick was trapped in the tank in the pilot episode :)
Either Rick is seeing two possibilities for his future after the war (a utopian one where everything goes perfectly and a dark one where many of his people die at war), or it's his internal conflict about what his motivations are - vengeance or the greater good? Will he be driven by a tragic past or a future full of potential? The episode did feel like it built up to this choice when he retreated instead of finishing Negan off.
I have a sneaky suspicion that Rick is mourning Morgan in the teary eyed scene. Morgan may have never quoted the mercy line, but as we've seen from last season into this one, he has definitely seen a flip from his calm, merciful state to one that is full of wrath. I also look back at the trailer where he quotes "I don't die" or something like that that is always an indicator something is going to happen. Anyways, I believe something happens where Morgans rage takes over him and gets him killed and Rick is reminded of that quote when he discovers Morgan to not fall into the same trap...just a quick thought that popped into my head
Been waiting for this! this channel is so detailed and well thought out. And there is this theory going around that Rick says that line "My mercy triumphs over my wreath." Is something that Morgan will tell Rick. And Rick will use Morgan is dying wish to have mercy on Negan when the war is over.
Bridget hammond wow I had my theory but yours makes total sense to me too. If the walking dead wants to continue the arc after the war against the sanctuary then forgiving Negan needs to happen. My prediction was Carl but Morgan makes sense. He built the prison cell back in season 5, the idea of all life is precious was introduced, his influence on Carol and how that can be either dangerous(carol almost dying by that one savior), and Morgan had to make the decision to kill to save her, his relationship with King Ezekiel, the two boys and how it broke him and made him realize that he needs to fight and eliminate the evil. In the trailer he says “I don’t die.” I interpreted that as his ideology will shape the future story line of the walking dead even if he’s no longer around. I can totally see that would be Morgan’s dying wish to forgive Negan. Even if it doesn’t happen it was a cool theory haha.
The symbol in the stained glass above Rick is a Christian cross of Celtic design. The pattern is similar to that found on Celtic graves, however the pattern within the cross, it seems, is also made up of smaller Celtic symbols meaning "Pagan" as well as what are commonly known as "Jesus fish". This is a powerful symbol in the scene that represents a death eminently is or has taken place, but also this symbolically represents transformation from lower Pagan belief and ritual to higher or enlightened states. The symbolism therefore matches Ricks words, "My mercy prevails over my wraith" as the higher idea of Christ's mercy prevails over wickedness or wraith, even to the imperfect (those who have done horrible things like Rick and everyone has, a major theme of TWD). The "light" filters through the "stained glass" and falls on Rick's face denoting he has achieved a higher state of consciousness. The stained glass itself representing the "stains" of atrocities on the soul, yet the light still shines through, bestowing forgiveness, which is what's reflected, or refracted, in Rick's statement. Refracted as the light on his face refracts into the spectrum, denoting he is imparting knowledge. But is he departing as well? Without a doubt this is a death scene, but given the gravitas of the correlated symbolism of death, mercy, higher spiritual awareness and the transmogrification of the pagan symbols into a Christian cross in the stained glass, one could compellingly conclude that this is in fact Rick's death scene.
The little girl zombie on the background is actualy the same actress (Addy Miller) that played that same role 7 years ago. The first zombie that Rick killed. They call her back especialy for that scene.
I love watching these after every episode. Not only do i get to review the episode, but i get to see all of the subtle film choices that the episode used to tell the story. I get to appreciate each shot, scene, diegetic and non-diegetic elements from an art point of view and understand why they were used. I also get deeper explanation for scenes i didnt understand. Well done! Keep it up!
All the people who escaped the pison on the bus, all died. Rick looking out over the green landscape, I think was a call back to. Hershal. "take a minute".
It's a comic reference where after the war rick is left with a limp when negan had broken his a leg and permanently damaged it. Also explains the buzzcut
Maybe it’s the idea of living long enough to grow old and die. Also if this is a perfect dream then why was that weird song he knows nothing about playing. It’s obvious that he wouldn’t have chosen that if it was his perfect idea of a future
HinderedMinds yup. Moment I saw the cane I was like oh that timejump must be happening and... that particular group is not so far away from making their debut. So excited for this All Out War storyline to continue and conclude on a high note because once its finish. Still PLENTY to more left to come.
A Muslim here, the quote "my mercy prevail over my wrath" is not from The Quran, it's from Hadith ( Prophet Mohamad sayings) That above Gods throne it is written "my mercy prevail over my wrath".
i forgot who, someone asked RICK in the episode if he ever seen himself in the future and he said yeah, so that is definitely a dream of him in the future. most likely rick picturing himself in a happy future, he seems like he is crying/upset on some of the sequences, thats when he is picturing his future.
I don’t think there’s much difference with the editing. I mean it’s more calm because there isn’t jump cuts every second. Other than that there’s no difference. Either way would b great.
The zombie callback from episode one was actually Addy Miller, the girl who was the zombie in episode 1. They even did her makeup the same. She posted on Twitter.
I felt like the overhead shot, pulling away from Negan and Gabriel in the trailer, with the hordes of walkers surrounding it was a call-back to Rick in the tank at the beginning of the series.
Brian Achim its all about his AMC overloads that’s why he’s left and signed a deal with Amazon to do more work with them. But they won’t kill her off now, should’ve done it back in 408
Another call back to episode 1 was the overhead shot of the walkers surrounding the building with Negan and Gabriel in was the same shot that showed Rick in the tank being surrounded by walkers in episode 1.
I think that Rick crying and mourning has a deeper meaning, a stuntman named 'John Bernecker' passed away this year by having a 20 foot fall on the set of The Walking Dead because of a stunt fail. So in the scene where Rick is crying, I think that Rick is supposed to be the walking dead community, and the person whom rick is burying is supposed to be John Bernecker. And this scene was a mourning for him.
Really liked the editing guys. A bit tonedowned in a good way. Not all these quick cuts and distracting soundeffects. It was almost as to listen to a real conversation among friends. 5/7
I dont think that the flash forwards were referencing the hilltop festival before the whisperer war, but instead a call back to hershall, but that’s just a theory, A COMIC THEORY
At 12:13, as the "Another one rides the bus" was discussed, I thought of how the people who got on the bus during the battle at the prison were killed.
i think Rick is always dreaming of a future he wants but that can unfortunately never be... like the dream of all of them sitting around a picnic table after Glen and Abrahams death. He wants so badly to be able to sleep in, wake up to his loving family and be at peace... but he knows that the hard and brutal cost of trying to make this dream a reality sadly means that such a dream is unattainable.
This was somewhat awkward without the editing. I personally don’t really care if the video comes out on thursday or friday if that means it’s better made and less awkward. Still, awesome vid.
The scene with Carol looking at the flower was a call back to 'look at the flowers' but also the Cherokee Rose that Daryl gave her when she lost her daughter. I'm am also afraid that Rick is mourning Judith. :*(
i thought the teary eyed shots of mourning rick was an outcome where he's bit by a walker and he leaves the group. He looks like he's got a fever and the infection is setting in.
Orange backpack is back! When Carl was back at the petrol station he pulled out those cans from the orange backpack that originally belonged to the hitchhiker Rick left behind in season 3. When Rick was driving pass the dead hitchikers body, he picked up the backpack and kept it.
Another reason(s) they shoot out the windows is A. So the glass rains down on negan and his officers and B. So that they create as much noise as possible for the heard to follow. I honestly like the glass raining theory behind it
The mirroring is being done because carl is taking over as the main character. Remember. Rick says this isn't about him. Several times meaning rick is probably dying from a bite
I've read a few top reviews for this episode and this is actually far more in-depth and more importantly, on point. (The articles attributed most of the call-backs to weak narrative)
What is Kiss? In maths : It is the shortest distance between two lips. . In Biology: kiss is just exchange of germs from one mouth to another. . i think the line that rick said takes place at the end of the war after Rick had a chance to kill Negan but chose not to like in the comics. "Mercy over rage"
I believe that in Rick's dream sequence is him focusing on the future after a terrible loss or impending loss. Perhaps Carl's death (unlikely) or the capture of his daughter...or both! Rick is focusing on the fact that it's all worth it for the GOOD of the people.
I think old Rick is a dream, but the sad Rick is real and is actually his death scene. we will probably get a full scene but the end of the season, or next season
In ep 12 in season 3 when rick goes and see morgan again, on the way it was a traveveller but they didnt help, but they did take his backpack wichs looks just like the backpack carl was using when he helped the traveveller this episode
OK I feel that the flower isn't about Lizzie, but is a callback to when Daryl gives Carol the Cherokee rose because of Sophia going missing. Anyone else feel that way?
Brendan Caruso I forgot about that, but it looked more like a Cherokee rose than a wildflower. :-)
That's exactly what i was thinking about
Daryl can hit a walker and like 12 explosions while on a bike at 60MPH and rick can't hit Negan when he's dead in front of him.
Except Daryl has a pistol and is shooting point blank.
Because Negan is love
Negan kind of had cover.
Negan has plot armor.
TheViperOrton45 to be honest negan probably had bulletproof vest
The zombie girl he encounters is the same actress who was the little girl in epidose 1 😉
avpc I FUCKIN' KNEW IT!
but zombies don't age, they decay
but zombies aren't real and the actresses who play them do age.
Antwain Green the scene was resembling a scene back in season 1 and the walker girl that Rick was about to kill looks like the same walker little girl back in season 1
It was cgi, they actor in now much older now
As an old school survival horror gamer, I always get super pissed when they start wasting bullets like they did at Negan's.
Ibrahim Chacín Figueroa they were making noise to attract the herd that was following Daryl to trap Negan
Ok, that makes some sense, BUT, remember when Eugene was a big deal because he learned how to make bullets? Now it seems there are more bullets than rocks on the floor, ridiculous.
I prefer the old style even if it takes a couple days more
I think the scene when rick says " my mercy prevails over my wrath " is at the end of the war and he's saying it to Negan after deciding not to kill him
Yehia Abdelrahman nooooo.
Spoiler***
I hope they don’t follow the comics
Yehia Abdelrahman
Well ur right
After watching the mid season finale last night I had to comeback to this video. The analyzation and predictions about the Carl Death were so on point. Episode 1 makes total sense now.
I prefer the edited clips, but that could just be my opinion
Same here... but apparently they can get these videos out faster doing them this way? Lol
same
I’m fine with this
I believe that he is standing over Morgan’s grave. Morgan’s death and his philosophy before the war started will change Ricks mind, and lead to him keeping Negan alive and locked in the cell
I think this is spot on. This is what I think is happening in this scene too
Ya I totally agree
I do not want Morgan to die. No more deaths!!!!!! Argh
When the camera flew out from the place where Negan and Gabriel were trapped in, it was a clear nod to the scene when Rick was trapped in the tank in the pilot episode :)
I just want Carl to get a damn haircut
Theory is that he didn't get his haircut since his mum died and Shane said 'one day your you're gonna be begging for one of your mammas hair cuts'
my mans rick got that stormtrooper aim ..
first with the governor after he killed hershel and now negan like wtf
aloha snackbar to be honest with the Governor he only had his python which is terrible weapon for long distance.
The Callback to the little girl Walker was done with the same actress that portrayed the little girl walker in S1E1.
Fun fact: the woman walker Rick see's at the beginning that was a nod to the little girl walker was actually played by the same girl.
Marley Sherwood Cabt wait for season 9 where rick will invent a portal gun and go on whacky adventures with his grandson Morty.
I have a sneaky suspicion that Rick is mourning Morgan in the teary eyed scene. Morgan may have never quoted the mercy line, but as we've seen from last season into this one, he has definitely seen a flip from his calm, merciful state to one that is full of wrath. Anyways, I believe something happens where Morgans rage takes over him and gets him killed and Rick is reminded of that quote when he discovers Morgan to not fall into the same trap...just a quick thought that popped into my head
As much as I love the awkwardness, the video doesn't feel as good quality wise. Prefer the original set up
I prefer it being within a couple days rather than a week later
I prefer it being quality over quantity imo
Been waiting for this! this channel is so detailed and well thought out.
And there is this theory going around that Rick says that line "My mercy triumphs over my wreath." Is something that Morgan will tell Rick. And Rick will use Morgan is dying wish to have mercy on Negan when the war is over.
yeah make sense
Bridget hammond oh my god thats genius
Yeah and his teary eye scene may be when he is burying Morgan?
interesting

Theriver Jordan cool insight
CatsAndPokemon - thanks
Look at Michonne's katana in the opening 😨
The little girl zombie on the background is actualy the same actress (Addy Miller) that played that same role 7 years ago. The first zombie that Rick killed. They call her back especialy for that scene.
actually not first zombie he killed. that clip just opened the first episode.

Rick looking out over the green landscape, I think was a call back to. Hershal. "take a minute".
Both times he was looking, there was a hill with a tree in the very back, idk if this means anything but yeh
Well the only thing that doesn`t add up with the dream theory is that Rick is limping. Why would he do that in a dream?
It's a comic reference where after the war rick is left with a limp when negan had broken his a leg and permanently damaged it. Also explains the buzzcut
Think his leg is already damaged while he's having this dream, so it makes sense that he's dreaming of himself like this
Maybe it’s the idea of living long enough to grow old and die. Also if this is a perfect dream then why was that weird song he knows nothing about playing. It’s obvious that he wouldn’t have chosen that if it was his perfect idea of a future

I’m used to the editing parts and it looks so weird
No thoughts on Morgan actually killing? Thought that was pretty big.
That was established last season
He killled in season 6
Steve Makoski Jr he started killing last season they talked about it then
I agree! I kept saying that. So, has killing now? And also, he's using guns?
I'd honestly prefer these being edited despite the wait. The editing makes it feel more professional and a few days wait won't kill us.
I loved this episode, except for the 30 minutes of commercials
JohntheCountryBoy just rewatch it after without ads
A Muslim here, the quote "my mercy prevail over my wrath" is not from The Quran, it's from Hadith ( Prophet Mohamad sayings) That above Gods throne it is written "my mercy prevail over my wrath".
Just as I’m about to sleep. Oh well
That was really good for doing it without edits. I could barely tell.
No
7:17Or when Daryl give here the flower when they where looking for her daughter in season 2
i forgot who, someone asked RICK in the episode if he ever seen himself in the future and he said yeah, so that is definitely a dream of him in the future. most likely rick picturing himself in a happy future, he seems like he is crying/upset on some of the sequences, thats when he is picturing his future.
I prefer edited version. Still an awesome vid. Best channel on YT.
Love these videos especially the walking 💀
Daryls love note lmao
Ugh please never stop making these !! These videos are so amazing ❤️
holy shit the timing of the notification couldnt have been better I just finished watching the episode great shit
The final shot of the walkers piling up, kind of mirrors the final shot of the first episode of the walkers piling up around the tank
I don’t think there’s much difference with the editing. I mean it’s more calm because there isn’t jump cuts every second. Other than that there’s no difference. Either way would b great.
The little girl walker @ 6:59 is played the same girl from episode 1, Addy Miller.
The zombie callback from episode one was actually Addy Miller, the girl who was the zombie in episode 1. They even did her makeup the same. She posted on Twitter.
I'm happy to be watching these again. Always something to look forward before the next episode.
I felt like the overhead shot, pulling away from Negan and Gabriel in the trailer, with the hordes of walkers surrounding it was a call-back to Rick in the tank at the beginning of the series.
AMC and Kirkman don't have the guts to kill Judith off.
Brian Achim well kirkman killed Judith off in the comic
Brian Achim its all about his AMC overloads that’s why he’s left and signed a deal with Amazon to do more work with them. But they won’t kill her off now, should’ve done it back in 408
Judith represents hope for the future, the rest merely survival. Well, Carl is also hope for the future as I guess is what's her name. The young lady.
The female walker at the gas station definitely reminded of the little girl walker Rick encountered in the first episode.
I much preferred an edited, professional video, even if it takes longer to create
"Daryl's Love Note To Dwight.." HAHAHA I DIED
Really liked the editing guys. A bit tonedowned in a good way. Not all these quick cuts and distracting soundeffects. It was almost as to listen to a real conversation among friends. 5/7
Before the end of the season Coral has died.
I dont think that the flash forwards were referencing the hilltop festival before the whisperer war, but instead a call back to hershall, but that’s just a theory, A COMIC THEORY
Come back Glenn!
he hid his backup eyeballs under the dumpster
lets not give up hopes... he will come back someday !!! somehow !!!
He’s dead!!! How can he come back?! My heart is broken enough already dont make it worse by giving false hope!
Michelle Woods he's alive, he just rolled under the dumpster
ThatGuyOnTV please, that was 2 seasons ago! How can u come back from crushed brain matter? It’s not a soap opera!
I think Michonne is who RIck is burying......thats the reason why Judith and Rick are aged and Michonne isnt aged in the flash forward
Justin York micchone is in the flash forward tho
eren dincer I need to rephrase it....I meant Michonne hasn't aged in the flash forward where as Rich and Judith are
I think it's Morgan.
Justin York that is true. Although, Carl isn't there in the future at all
At 12:13, as the "Another one rides the bus" was discussed, I thought of how the people who got on the bus during the battle at the prison were killed.
I actually really like that these are unedited now.
I prefer the edited videos bring em back
Red-eyed Rick looks like his going to turn into a walker.
*Oh* *Crap*
i think Rick is always dreaming of a future he wants but that can unfortunately never be... like the dream of all of them sitting around a picnic table after Glen and Abrahams death. He wants so badly to be able to sleep in, wake up to his loving family and be at peace... but he knows that the hard and brutal cost of trying to make this dream a reality sadly means that such a dream is unattainable.
Great impression of daryl, i loved it 😂😂😂😂
i pretty much look as much forwards to rockstars video about it as i do to the episode itself
The final shot was a callback to the final shot of the pilot
The Daryl/ Norman impression was spot-on.
This was somewhat awkward without the editing. I personally don’t really care if the video comes out on thursday or friday if that means it’s better made and less awkward. Still, awesome vid.
Rick teary eyed scene could be a shot from the end of the war and he is showing Negan mercy.
Tbh i thought Rick leaning over the graves at first was morgan
The girl Carl sees when he is pumping gas is the same actress who played the first walker that Rick saw
Actually really enjoyed this unedited vid. Had a good laugh and got some brainfood.
The scene with Carol looking at the flower was a call back to 'look at the flowers' but also the Cherokee Rose that Daryl gave her when she lost her daughter. I'm am also afraid that Rick is mourning Judith. :*(
When Rick kills the saviour who tells him his family will die, Rick whistles and the whistle is an inverse of Negan’s Whistle.
i thought the teary eyed shots of mourning rick was an outcome where he's bit by a walker and he leaves the group. He looks like he's got a fever and the infection is setting in.
Having this un-editted looks better in my opinion.
Orange backpack is back! When Carl was back at the petrol station he pulled out those cans from the orange backpack that originally belonged to the hitchhiker Rick left behind in season 3. When Rick was driving pass the dead hitchikers body, he picked up the backpack and kept it.
I've been waiting for this right after the episode ended
I liked the edited clips. Take some more days to do it, it's fine
I cant be the only one to make the connection of a governer style speech when rick talks to negan about the only way or from the se7 premiere
I like the sounds effects from the cuts
I've got a bad feeling about Red-Eyed Rick.
Another reason(s) they shoot out the windows is A. So the glass rains down on negan and his officers and B. So that they create as much noise as possible for the heard to follow. I honestly like the glass raining theory behind it
the flower that Carol is looking at is the cherokee flower that daryl told her about its story when she was searching for her daughter sophia.
The mirroring is being done because carl is taking over as the main character. Remember. Rick says this isn't about him. Several times meaning rick is probably dying from a bite
I think him saying my mercy prevail over my wrath is him considering keeping negan alive.
I've read a few top reviews for this episode and this is actually far more in-depth and more importantly, on point. (The articles attributed most of the call-backs to weak narrative)
What is Kiss?
In maths : It is the shortest distance between two lips.
.
In Biology: kiss is just exchange of germs from one mouth to another.
.
In Chemistry: Kiss is a process of testing the pH of lips.

In Physics: It is a process of charging human body.

In Computer: It is a local area network in which two bodies are connected without data cable.

In Economics:
It is a process in which demand is higher than supply....
I want my like......😂😂😂😂😂
i think the line that rick said takes place at the end of the war after Rick had a chance to kill Negan but chose not to like in the comics.
I also think that the photo’s are for the future, like when deanna was filming Rick’s interview and so on.
Looking forward to watching this later. These guys are the shit
I think old Rick is a dream, but the sad Rick is real and is actually his death scene. we will probably get a full scene but the end of the season, or next season
I don't see Carl making it out of this season. I see them killing him off by the end of the season.
tf? you predicted the future
The quote from Henry V is also from the same “st. crispens day” speech
The little zombie girl is the same girl from season one
im NOT kidding im crying cause iv'e been wanting this and youre funny so like win win i love TWD
I guess no one in all the communities thought of just sniping Negan when he came out and be done with it.
In ep 12 in season 3 when rick goes and see morgan again, on the way it was a traveveller but they didnt help, but they did take his backpack wichs looks just like the backpack carl was using when he helped the traveveller this episode
Old rick could be after the war, because in the comics he has a cane, shaved his head, and grew out his beard
+New rockstars love your videos and twd cool
Eagle on the van....the revisit of Rick in the tank through Gabriel and Negan..no? Okay sweet.
Unedited rocks, good job
zoom and enhance ricks eyes when hes mourning
