    Notes:
    1) I've put them toe to toe with B&W n805 diamonds ($5000/pr) and they gave up nothing.
    2) Internally, the mid and tweet are in a separate chamber from the woofers.
    3) The main caps are all 5% Metallized polyester. Most speakers of that era used 10% electrolytic (like polk, klipsch, JBL) which are mediocre at best.
    4) I just refurbished mine with dark oil and re-built the crossovers with new 5% metallized polypropelene. They eat the B&W for lunch now.
    5) I use a 12" sub with them and a Mullard tube preamp.

If I may help you out. The mids & tweeters are domed and don't 'need' to be in separate chambers since they're both sealed drivers. Better than 5% is to actually match the pair. You can have 10% that are a matched pair & they'll perform better than 5% NOT matched. The key here is quality of cap & matching over their tolerance. I've built a few DIY speakers & have upgraded more. When you design crossovers you do want the parts as close to the designed values and matched. Just adding to what you said.

I felt like a king when I got a pair of these in 1978. I also had my Mom buy a pair. I still have them in storage. The best mid/high price speaker ever made in my opinion.

Is the German Braun L710 the same or the American ADS is better?

I used to work for an audio dealer that sold ads speakers, I believe those are a 7" driver.. where the 810 has two 8" drivers , the 910 had two 10 inch drivers.. they kick butt.

Got some of those in my bedroom right now!...These ADS L 710's caused my Polk 7B's to get demoted to the guest room! Excellent revealing speakers.

These are great speakers and were among the best available in the 1970's. The only minor quibble is that I find the highs on ADS speakers to be a bit "sizzly" and fatiguing. This may be exaggerated by the RUclips audio quality.

Worth noting: The L710 are actually BETTER sounding than the L-810, which is surprising since the L-810 were intended as a step up, with bigger woofers, more power handling, etc.
It's simply a matter where ADS got the recipe right the first time, with the L-710, and then tried to make "improvements" that did not pan out on the L-810.
Also worth noting, a few years later ADS did indeed manage to make REAL improvements in their lineup with the introduction of the L-1290. If you find a pair of the L-1290 today, all original, where the cabinets have not been breached, original drivers and guts, then you will have reached audio nirvana.

I just bought some, and I can tell you that they EASILY best a $3000 pair of dynaudio, SVS ultra, Axiom and any Asian-made B&W/Paradigm.

Nice video! I started a vintage speaker collection a year ago. I just received a nice pair of A/D/S L10's. The mids and high along with the sound stage is amazing for such a small speaker. I just bought a pair of L700's. I cannot wait to get them
