Been doing AP on hit for years. Old rage blade made this way stronger but it's still ok. And tempo gives much needed attack range. Lately I've switched to blue tree secondary, take celerity, and grab swifty boots for maximum movement speed. I go nashors, rift maker, rage blade, and then defensive items cause that passive proc will only scale so far, meanwhile your small form is squishier than normal because of how your passive works so you need survivability more than a little extra damage.

AP bruiser brand (season 13 items are new and i don't know them well enough yet so) Riftmaker for your mythic, Demonic as either your 2nd item or your capstone. then build tanky items that also provide HP to buff the ability power you get from the demonic embrace passive. Conqueror for your runes if you're feeling spicy (not the best for brand but still works otherwise go dark harvest or phase rush)
