Anyone who has lived in a place where church bells can be heard is fortunate. Those musical tones enrich the sonic environment and provide a rhythm for the day passing. // When I lived in Rome the sound of bells ringing was one of my favorite things. I also heard bells on the quarter hour during my days at university. This multiple bell ringing is even more incredible.
Your reply brought to mind the college I attended and how I loved the bell tower's ringing through the day marking the quarter hours.....thanks for jogging this memory!
I agree that the tradition of bell ringing is marvelous. You can find some RUclips channels devoted to the bells. I like listening to them. I’ll be glue to the screen to watch the coronation.
I am in Britain and it’s great to see coverages of our traditions like this all being shown to people in the US. It will be wonderful hearing the bells ring out across the whole nation and it’s great to see that we are trying to get thousands of more people involved young and old to pass it on.
I love the tradition of bell ringing. As an American of Jewish extraction, though secular, I would do it in a heartbeat. There is so much history and everyone is welcome to try out and rehearse. I also love history. I don't love Royalty, but History trumps (you should pardon the expression) Royalty. Glad the new King is making it a community building event. From Oakland CA
There is a bellringer at my small church in the United States but that is to announce that there is a service. The local Catholic Church used to have beautiful music, one night a week that you could hear all over town until some stupid people complained that it was too noisy. Perfectly ridiculous that bells are considered intrusive but they’re horrible. Sounds of motorcycles that race up and down the streets without mufflers seems to be less annoying to people.
To ring a bell is so much fun! You feel the heaviness of it and be able to control it is just so amazing. As kids we would hang ourselves on the rope, in order to make it start aww

English bell ringing is almost unique, where bells turn 360 degrees. Other countries just chime, where the bells just swing a little. It's a beautiful sound.
By God's command alone; on Saturday 6th May 2023; in Westminster Abbey; without any need for crystal balls at all; the entire world will witness those two entities, and everyone who supports them, taking on their destined roles: merrily ushering in the incunabula ofthe final days of what was once the esteemede who supports them, taking on their destined roles: merrily ushering inthe incunabula of the final days of what was once the highly esteemed British Monarchy.
Muslims ringing church bells? Unlikely, if they're devout. They ban church bells in every place they take over. Nevertheless, I'm glad that some unbelievers are able to appreciate bell ringing as a Christian cultural phenomenon.
Why are you doubting it? Guessing you don't know much; if you've got assumptions about all Muslims around the world being a certain way, that's called prejudice.
They possibly have some dim consciousness of what they have lost. They look north and see a constitutional monarchy where the sick get health care, where the participation of transgendered schoolkids in female athletics competitions is not the most burning question of the day, and where teenage boys do not get shot for going to pick up their younger siblings at the wrong address.
@@JohnnyAngel8 Isn't it amazing that people who complain about being forced to watch this don't realize that they can do just that. I learned how to hit that button a long time ago and the older I get, the more I use it.
