Pelle is so right about making look other bands foolish! I was at Prague City Festival and 30 Seconds To Mars were supposed to be the biggest name and star at the festival, but The Hives were playing right before them and hands down, there were the best and made 30STM look lame!
not musically, she is referring to jay-z`s album the "black album" and the beatles` album "the beatles" is also called the white album. Therefore calling their album called "the black and white album" is joining the two. i love hip hop and rock and roll.
The Beatles released an album called The White Album, and Jay-Z released one, referencing the Beatles', called The Black Album. She actually made an interesting connection there no matter if it was accurate or not. She did her job.

Yes, it's egotistical.......... but it's true! It is what it is... they are probably the best at live quality music; have enough songs that are different in spread of notes(not all sound the same); are pure rock where the song beats are consistent in tempo; they're NOT one hit wonders; they write their own music and play their own instruments. Any honest person should see this as being one of the best today!
They're a German and a Swede conversing in a language that's second to both of them, I don't think that either one of them know or care enough about the intricacies and cultural minefields of terms like popstar, I'm sure that the word translates well enough to "Musician." By all means, conduct an interview in Russian with an Italian and see how well you manage to deal with the cultural baggage of innocuous words.
I have no idea why I get so pissed at Brandon Flowers for talking shit and being narcissistic but then completely dont give a shit when Pelle gloats. Maybe because Pelle has a sense of humor about the whole thing
