I've being wondering for some time now if pokemon fangames will ever use this artstyle one day. We have the music already peaked.
As much as 3D graphics keep improving, there's something so unique about pixel art. To me it'll never be completely replaced

@@starsz13Most of them use the gba/gen4 DS pokemon style. It is 2D pixel art, but not every single 2D pixel art use the same style.
This style is a lot more detailed with much more complex environment.
The closest thing Pokemon does to this style is Ranger and PMD (outside of the dungeons), which practically 0 fangame follow.
The character designs in the pic are Pokemon Ranger style.

I still remember catching Suicune for the first time in Soul Silver as a kid years ago. Always will be one of my favorite legendaries, and I love how Pokémon made Walking Wake
