- This video shows the first ride out on a Norvil Norton Commando 850 MKIII Roadster for 11 years. This bike was built (rebuilt) to order by the Norvil Motorcycle Company in 2012 with every conceivable upgrade. The then owner took delivery and rode it to his house in France and decided the bike was too heavy for him (he was quite elderly) and left it in his barn for 10 years, not turning a wheel. I recommissioned the bike just before Christmas, but due to the weather etc, today was the first opportunity I had to take it out for a ride. So this ride was the first time it had been ridden for over 11 years! And a great ride in the Spring Sunshine through Derbyshire it was too!
It's a beautiful snorting Norton
What a fantastic day to be out for a ride.
Beautiful Cob, brings back Magic Memories 🇳🇿👍
I fancied coming over to the Peaks for a walk or ride, then remembered its school hols. The place will be heaving, even more so with nice weather. The bike looks amazing. Let’s hope in future episodes it runs like that too.
Bike went well all run. Quieter off the beaten track, as ever. 👍
She’s a great runner and a beautiful stunner. Fantastic work Chris !
nice bike mate
So beautiful. I love the red ones. I’d love to own this.
Nice video, finally the parts for the rebuild are ready!!
Collected the crankshaft today! 👍👍👍
Wow busy on the peak , Norton sounds 👌🏻😎
Yes, it was a Monday, so commercial stuff around and it's also the first week of the Easter hols. It got quieter off the beaten track. 👍
Excellent video 👍🏼.
Where in the UK is this nice wide open scenery?
This is the beautiful Derbyshire Peak District - but keep it to yourself! 😉
Great to see that you had the opportunity to go for the first ride of the year. The only thing i managed so far on my Commando this year was a trip to the petrol station. Regarding the oil pressure: mine is a recently rebuilt 74 850 engine and the oil pressure on mine is almost identical with that on the Norvil. What oil do you use ?
Thanks for your comment. I always use Morris Golden Film SAE 50, or their running-in oil on newly rebuilt engines.
Stunning bike/roads/scenery. Pity we can't hear the sound of the bike over the wind 🤣🤣🤣 (just joking mate). Seems to be running and picking up well 👍
