Let me try and give you a summary about her:
1. Her name is LALISA MANOBAL (pronounced as MANOBAN) from Thailand. She is 26 years old turning 27 this March.
2. Since she was little she has always been into performing. She entered a lot of singing and dancing contests (and won). She was a member of a Thai dance crew called We Zaa Cool. Was a child actress as well.
3. It wa said that her dance crew won a contest (2nd place) and was awarded sa 1-month training session from JYP Ent (a Kpop agency) but she declined that to audition to YG Ent. (another Kpop agency) instead.
4. She auditioned for YG at 14yrs old in Thailand. Beat out 3999 out of 4000 auditionees (she's the only one who got in).
5. At 14 she moved to South Korea alone to train for 5-6yrs under YG. She doesn't know the culture or the language. It was tough but she was always an A+ student during the training. They had weekly and monthly evaluations and she usually pass them with flying colors.
6. She debuted as part of Black Pink (the Biggest Girl Group right now). She is the Main Dancer. A Lead Rapper and a Subvocalist. She is the best dancer in Kpop in my and a lot of credible people's opinion. 😉
7. BP was the first Kpop Artist to perform at Coachella and she has then became known as the Ponytail Rapper because of her iconic ponytail hairstyle and charisma.
8. She debuted as a solo artist in 2021 with 2 songs Lalisa and Money. She won MTV VMAs and MTV EMAs Best Kpop. She also collaborated with DJ Snake, Meg the Stallion and Ozuna with the song SG. And recently with Taeyang with the song called Shoong!.
9. She has a total of 8 Guiness World Records. The most records for a Kpop artist.
10. She was awarded by the prestigious Asian Hall of Fame last year as a Cultural Icon.
