- We've lived in Denver for many years but have never seen the amount of rain we did this spring. It left me feeling a bit of the gray, and in the mood to write a slow-mover in a minor key.
I hope you enjoy it!
Written by me.
All instruments played by me.
Recorded with GarageBand.
Guitar is a K-Line Springfield through a Yamaha THR10. Видеоклипы
Very nice. My goal is to get halfway there.
Everything about this song is a treat… including the tone and phrasing of the bass..!
Bravo Chris..!!!💪🏼❤️
Just worked out in my yard in hot sun ☀️ when I started listening I was immediately put in a trance I was so relaxed words give you only a taste on how good I liked how you arranged that song 🎉Not surprised anyone that tort Marty Schwartz how to play has got to be one of the best peace brother
Thanks Jody! I appreciate that, and I'm so glad you enjoyed it.
I hear and see all the thangs you teach Chris. Smooth sh….🤙🏼
The force is strong with this one. Nice work here Chris, sounds great
Glad you liked it, Teo. Many thanks.
I love how the phrasing is just dipping into alien territory. Reminds me of ol Jeff Beck
My buddy picked up an acoustic and I told him I would send him some videos to start learning theory in a practical way, so I'm gonna go rootin around in your stuff.
Thanks Chris🤙
Any time GB!
Smooth and relaxing sounding love it.
Absolutly beautiful
:) :) :) (Hey! Guess who's going to visit the gang up Boston/Connecticut way next week! :) )
Smoooth ...
What a wonderful song. It's been raining here lately too, so this song fits this season. I do love the rain though.
If you got any other original stuff, I'd sure like to hear it!
God bless you!
Thanks Aslan! I'll post some more originals eventually. Here's another: ruclips.net/video/NdepL_MH9WU/видео.html

Glad you enjoyed it, Martin. Thanks!
Dang, Chris.
Even being from the PNW, I felt that song.
Not surprised by anything you did, yet I'm going to save this to came back to.
Hopefully you get some dry weather in the days ahead.
Be good to you
Thanks for everything Scott. And I'm glad you enjoyed this.
This is beautiful
I love it Chris. It's a nice treat between lessons. Which, by the way, I find myself thinking about while I watch what you're doing in your composition. I learned from this too!!
I’m so glad, Tom. I purposely used a lot of the ideas I teach in this piece.
Awesome Chris. 😊
Chris, that is beautiful. I live in the NW of England where the rain doesn't often stop, but it has for the month or more!! Almost unheard of. This made me think of rain! I loved the slow tempo, your expression is just superb; the tone is under the fingers!!
Thank you Simon, I appreciate that. This K-line has inspired me as well :)
As another occupant of NW England, I’m also a bit curious as to where the rain has gone. At least Chris is here to give us something to sooth our ears.
Amazing song chris! Really enjoyed it immensely
AWWW!!! This is great stuff!!! Nothing better than creating something that know one else has..., That's a musician ..
❤
That was sweet, Chris!!💯 Tasty!! 🤘
Thanks!
Well that was awesome! ✌🏼
Thanks, Steve, I appreciate that. Glad you enjoyed it.
Nicely done my friend! Thanks for the business.
This guitar inspires me daily, thank you SO much for your attention to the things that actually matter.
beautiful!!!
Thank you!
😊✨Gives me the Boz vibes. 💫
Going to see him when he comes through town. Mike Miller playing guitar on the tour :)
@@curiousguitarist So cool! :)
Awesome tones!! Love the vide.
Thank you kindly, Kevin!
Love it. Great stuff, Chris:)
Smooth! and its inspiring to watch you crafting music using some of the things that you teach. I'm looking at it and trying to figure out what the heck you were doing. This might take me rather a long time! Thanks. Great music.
I purposely used a lot of triads during the solo section changes. Hope fully you can see them going by!
@@curiousguitarist Yes - I spotted them... and was very pleased with myself for doing so! Ive been doing what you suggested and digging into triads with a pencil and paper...a few eeeks in and Im altready seeing the benefits coming through in my playing and writing. Possibly the single, most useful thing Ive done musically!
Nice
Loved it! Hope you're well. :)
OMG Rae!!! I hope you are well as well. My band is playing Sunday afternoon in Denver. If you're in town I'd love to see you!
@@curiousguitarist What's the name of the band?
@@JaysonT1 it's just me :)
Love it. I immediately went to Spotify for more!... Alas, I could only find Chris Shetland?! Is there somewhere to find more original stuff?
Thank you! I have not published any music recently, but I am considering it :)
I’m glad you enjoyed this!
Send some my way, just replanted my lawn and it hasn't rained in 6 weeks. Cool stuff!! Question, did you write this out before recording? Or are you jamming?
I developed the melody over a few days, wrote it out, then wrote the change, then solo'ed over the progression for a day or so. Then did a "one take" against the backing track.
Can you givr us the chord progression so we can put that together with what you are playing? Sounds FAB
TABs are on patreon.com/chrissherland
progression is C#minor Emajor F#Major
Is this improvised or written?
The melody in the beginning is written, then the solo is improvised.
