Figures I click this link after I ask the question about why this happened!
I have a question though. Is there something like call back functions? So instead of having to set the attdia back and forth, can there be a function that wraps around all the required commands and then returns attdia back to off?

Kind of... but not really. You can call functions and pass values without any problem, the issue is the way that lisp throws an error when you exit a loop.
I haven't done a video on error handling yet, but writing a costom error function would potentially have been a better place to put the system variable reset.

@@ATCCAD Thank you for the reply!
I have a little bit of javascript experience and I keep wanting to simplify things and lisp doesn't seem conductive to that thought process.
I'm in an autocad course right now, is there decent money in building dynamic blocks and custom commands for clients?

@NavySturmGewehr That's something that I do, but I'll admit it's a very small portion of my revenue. Back in the day, I made highly custom AutoCAD builds, but then Electrical Desktop came out.
