- In this family vlog, we visit Stockholm Palace in Old Town, Gamla Stan, in Stockholm.
In our last video Alma and Harry did not agree on who lives in the Palace, is it a guard, a wizard or the king and queen? We decided to go and check it out since Joanna and Axel hadn’t been to The Royal Palace since they were children.
We walked through the Royal Apartments, saw 35 of the Royal Palace's 1,430 rooms and ended up in The White Sea Ballroom.
The Swedish Royal Family does not reside in this Palace that is partly open to the public. They moved to the Drottningholm Palace 1981.
There is also The Treasury (where you are not allowed to film) and two museums on site. But they are a bit too advanced for Alma who is 5 and Harry that is 2,5 years old.
Please feel free to comment on our clips. And give us a thumbs up or down so we know whether you like it or not.
XOXO

The Swedish family lives in Stockholm, the capital of Sweden.
Little brother Harry, 2.5 years old, is a rascal. Big sister Alma is five years old and a real thinker.
Daddy Axel is an engineer and mommy Joanna is a TV producer.
We vlog about our daily life and love to travel.
More info:
The Royal Palace of Stockholm is His Majesty The King's official residence and is also the setting for most of the monarchy's official receptions. The palace is a daily place of work for The King and Queen as well as for the various departments that make up the Royal Court.
This combination of royal residence, workplace and culture-historical monument open year round to visitors makes the Royal Palace of Stockholm unique amongst Europe's royal residences.
The palace must be so huge that Alma was left hungry and went on a strike demanding the food! That was so cute. And Harry's demand to rescue the trapped dog from the "prison" is so funny but at the same time shows his kindness and empathy towards the "trapped" animal. And it seems that Harry love his grandfather that he want to rescue the dog so that the dog can live with his grandfather. Owh man.. It's so touching. I better get the tissue now... Huhuhu
The Palace is huge. It has 1, 430 rooms, but we only walked through a fraction of them. Alma’s her reaction made us laugh, but it's also interesting. In her five-year-old-mind she was convinced that she would be served food inside the Palace. As if she was invited to a party.
Pretty often when we are in a situation (that we film) we experience one thing. And later on when we edit and see the filmed material we experience something else. It is really cool actually. As we watched Harry talking about the dog (through the screen) we realized how strong he felt for the “dogs” but also how fast he snapped out of it and ran off 😊
Yeah. The fleeting mind of a child. But within those fleeting moment, it shows a glimpse of our human heart at a period of age where not much outside influences are yet to be received. A heart of kindness and empathy. And if nurture would perhaps become a kind of human being who are compassionate, benevolent, full of kindness and warmhearted. Or perhaps the greatest Eurovision's singer ever! I can't go on.. Lots of kram for Harry.. :-)

Amir Ismail The Royal Family has apartments in this Palace but they reside just outside of Stockholm.
hey ! harry ... i think you and alma should be the little prince and princess at he palace.
hehehe
Encik Bakri Interesting thought, hahaha. They would probably like it a day or two and after that long for their old (and free) life 😊
do u know there is town called alma here in malaysia. it is in penang close to my grandma house. just kidding
Haha, if there was a place called Alma we would have to visit!
THE SWEDISH FAMILY it is just industrial town. it is not worth to visit actually. if u want a more relaxing & historical travel u should go to georgetown at the penang island. Alma is located at the mainland. sorry for using your daughter's name.
In georgetown u can find many colonial buildings just like in sweden. Lot of artistic cafes & murals there. It is a mixture of modern & old

the palace is just like our old national palace in kuala lumpur where people can visit because it changed to royal museum. the new one visitors cant enter
Amir Ismail Yeah it sounds like a similar set up. Our Royal Family still host events and have apartments that they use in this Palace though.
Hey hey we celebrate Eid tomorrow. Happy Eid. 🎆🎇
Amir Ismail Good for you! How will you celebrate?
THE SWEDISH FAMILY We will celebrate by going to the mosque tomorrow morning. Then we will meet famililes and eat with them. Some family members like youns ones will get pocket money from their parents or grandparents. After that we are going to visit other relatives. Tonight we play fireworks with family. Lot of fireworks. But before that all of these we prepared food & make the house look nice. But dont forget about those who are in need.
THE SWEDISH FAMILY wear baju melayu (male) and wear baju kurung (female)
Amir Ismail It sounds really nice. We wish you a wonderful celebration with family and loved ones.
Amir Ismail We had to Google 😀
It looks nice 😍
Hey! Hey! Thank you so much for bringing us into Swedish Royal Palace. In a way other than architectural aesthetic and cultural paraphernalia differences between Swedish and Malaysian Royal Households - the opulence, grandiose, lavishness and ostentatious display of wealth are all the same.
I've never been to any of royal palaces before but I've seen it in videos and television shows and every time I watch it, my mind will always think about how much blood and sweat of ordinary people, peasants, slaves and their subjects that have to be sacrificed in order for them to build such a grand huge palaces. Hahaha
Similar thing when I look at old ancient monuments like the pyramids in Egypt or the Angkor Wat in Cambodia or Borobudur in Indonesia or Hagia Sophia in Istanbul and all those grand palaces in Europe, I actually saw the blood of the oppressed people, slaves, labourers and peasants splattered all over those grandiose architectural marvels as a manifestation of our desire for both power and vanity. But at the same time those same desire for power and vanity that propel our human civilization with effort and endeavor to create and invent ingenious sophisticated sciences and technology to fulfill such desire.
But I'm wondering whether the Swedish King have any power in Sweden? Because here in Malaysia, all the nine Malay Kings have some kind of power and authority in matters of Malay culture and Islam. In fact our constitution provides them a role as the guardian of certain Malay (and other natives) interests, Malay culture and the position of Islam in our country.
And if I may know, how do the Swedish King make a living? In Malaysia each state that have a King will have a state budget allocated to them to maintain their palace, ceremonial events and the royal institution institution itself (I guess that would include their salary too) because obviously they don't have job like other ordinary citizens. Their job is simply to be a king with all the pomp and royal trappings.
And can the Swedish King be criticized openly by the citizen and is there a movement in Sweden to abolish the Swedish monarchy? Thank you and sorry for asking a lot of questions. Lots of kram :-)
Hey! Hey! It's actually because of you that we decided to do a vlog of our visit to the Palace. So first of all thank you! We had fun.
We like this passage of yours:“Every time I watch it, my mind will always think about how much blood and sweat of
ordinary people, peasants, slaves and their subjects that have to be sacrificed
in order for them to build such a grand huge palaces.”It is such a good point and something we definitely think about as well.
The Swedish King has no power. He is an ambassador for our country. The Swedish Royal Family gets money from the Swedish state every year. A huge part of it is to maintain the Palace’s and another huge part for their cost of living.
Yes, the King and Royal family can be criticized openly In Sweden. And they are, especially
our King. His daughter, that is the heiress to the throne is much more popular.
There is a movement that wants to abolish the Swedish monarchy. They are called “Republikanska Föreningen” that translates to “Republican Association” but they
are interesting enough not that big, they’ve only got 10,700 members.
How is it in Malaysia? Do people criticize the King’s and is there a movement to
abolish monarchy?Peluk Cium
We still haven't found out who is actually sleeping in the palace yeah? It seems that the wizards are living in the other part of the palace which is quite far away.. Hahahaha
That’s true, hahahaha.
